Chapter 70 He is my friend
"Just change the power interface," Heng Xing said to Yu Nianqing, who had already disassembled the small electric car and checked it.
"So there's no way to fix it now?" Yu Nianqing asked, feigning concern, standing next to her.
In reality, he knew perfectly well that he had specially chosen this car to increase the time he could spend with Hengxing.
"Hmm, we need to buy a new connector and put it back together." Hengxing stood up from the ground, patted the dust off his school uniform, and wanted to raise his arm to wipe his face, but put his arm down after seeing his dirty hands.
The school uniform is white, and we still need to go to school.
Oh, right!
She suddenly remembered that she had to go to school, and when she turned on her terminal, she found that it was already nine o'clock.
She completely missed the first math class.
"Mr. Yu, I'll buy a new connector after school this afternoon and then come back to install it for you." After saying that, she quickly walked back to her electric scooter, ready to get on and hurry to school.
Yu Nianqing followed her and finally reached her side just as she got into the car.
He handed her a damp towel. "Wipe your face."
Seeing Hengxing sitting in the car hesitantly, unsure whether to accept the towel or not, he kindly reminded him, "Hurry up and go, you're probably already late. You can give me the towel when you come this afternoon."
I almost forgot I was late.
"Thank you, I'm off then." As if waking from a dream, she grabbed the towel, turned the handlebars, and sped off towards school.
When Hengxing arrived at school, she returned to the classroom during the second period. Her literature teacher kindly told her to quickly go back to her seat.
My deskmate asked in a low voice, "Hengxing, why are you so late today?"
She was turning to face the window, wiping the black marks on her face with a towel. "I was delayed by something."
"The teacher said she'd call your dad," her deskmate told her.
The Alpha by the window held the towel in his hand, which trembled slightly.
Hengxing opened her terminal and found that her father hadn't sent her a message.
The last time her parents were called in was in her first year of high school. Her homeroom teacher discovered that she had forged a leave of absence certificate to skip class and work at a car repair shop.
When she got home, her father didn't say anything, he just turned his back to her and wiped away his tears.
Thinking about it now still makes me feel very uncomfortable.
She has an unusually thick skin; she doesn't care about being criticized or insulted, but she can't stand seeing her father cry. She immediately promised that it would never happen again.
So I have to rush home as soon as school is over today, so as not to make her dad's already upset mood even worse.
But the car definitely needs repairs, and she wants that money.
Hengxing thought about it all morning, then gritted his teeth and skipped his afternoon PE class to help Yu Nianqing fix her car.
Physical education class
The math teacher walked into the classroom with his textbooks. "Your PE teacher is sick today, so I'll be teaching you. Okay, open your books. Hmm, why is there a blank space at the back?"
"Class monitor, go to the playground and call your classmates back. What, are they all back?"
"Isn't that Hengxing's seat? She hasn't come to school all day?! What's going on? I'll definitely contact her parents after class to report on her academic situation."

7 PM.
Heng Xing returned home satisfied with the two thousand star coins she had just received. When she reached the door, she guiltily took out a towel and wiped her face again, making sure it was clean before pushing the door open and going inside.
Seeing her father's straight smile, her joy vanished instantly; she knew everything was settled.
It's over.
They've definitely already told their parents.
"Dad, the bread sold out so quickly today!"
She shoved the towel into her pocket, only to suddenly realize that she had forgotten to return it to Mr. Yu.
"My teacher contacted me and asked me where I went today?" The man's tone was still gentle.
"I'm at school, I'm just a little late."
She smoothed her wind-blown curly hair and noticed her palms were black again when she put her hands down.
The man saw her hands and immediately understood. "You went to the repair shop again today?"
Hengxing didn't want to lie to him, so she confessed, "I didn't go. I went to help someone fix their car."
The man frowned, more out of self-reproach than anger. "Dad told you, we don't lack money. We have enough for tuition and everything."
“Isn’t it true that the more money the better?” she replied, but seeing her father’s reddened eyes, she quickly added, “Dad, don’t worry, I definitely won’t let it affect my studies. I’m sure I can pass the exam.”
Alphas at the 3S level will be accepted by any school as long as their grades aren't terribly bad. Even as adults, they can receive three times the pay of a 2S-level Alpha for donating sperm.
"Xingxing, how could Daddy bear to scold you?" Knowing he couldn't win the argument, the man sighed and urged her to take a shower.
For the past ten years or so, he and his daughter have supported each other through thick and thin. Moreover, as Hengxing grows up, she looks more and more like her mother. Every time he sees her, he can't help but think of his deceased wife, and he feels even more reluctant to say anything to her.

Yu Nianqing knew that he had made the right decision to repair the car. From then on, Hengxing would greet him every morning while waiting on the balcony. Although it was just a cold wave, he was already very satisfied.
So he went to the cake shop again on Friday to order a cake, only to be told that they couldn't deliver it because no one was available.
Only then did he realize that Hengxing was going to participate in extracurricular activities over the weekend.
Yu Nianqing asked several parents of students in the same grade as her in the neighborhood. In the past few days, the sociable Yu Nianqing had become good friends with the other parents.
Upon learning of the situation, he immediately booked a ticket to visit their extracurricular practice planet on Saturday morning.

After a long and tedious lecture, the students finally got their long-awaited free time.
Hengxing lay lazily on the grass, basking in the sun.
Her deskmate greeted her, "Hengxing, Chu Le and I are going to buy ice cream cones and kites. Do you want to come with us?"
Heng Xing said, "You may go."
She can just bask in the free sunshine here.
After finally getting some peace and quiet, she closed her eyes, ready to take a nap.
These two thousand Star Coins were not worth it at all.
Someone sat down next to her, and she assumed it was her classmate returning, so she didn't pay any attention.
It wasn't until a minty-scented wet wipe was placed over her eyes that Hengxing realized it couldn't be. She reached up and pulled the wipe off her eyes, then looked up at the man beside her.
"Mr. Yu, what are you doing here?"
"I came out to relax a bit." Yu Nianqing smiled at her. "It's beautiful here, with vast expanses of grass and a strong wind. It's perfect for flying kites."
He was dressed very differently today, a departure from his usual elegant gray-toned style. He wore a light green shirt and loose-fitting jeans, similar to what Hengxing's classmates were dressed, looking very young.
Yu Nianqing noticed her gaze and was secretly pleased. She opened her arms to show off her clothes, "What a coincidence, I'm dressed similarly to you today."
"Be careful, the teacher might ask you to come with us to a lecture later."
Thinking that there was a high probability he would buy a spaceship in the future, Hengxing used sweet words.
Seeing him smile happily with his eyes crinkled and his mouth covered, Hengxing also raised the corners of his mouth.
She secretly thought that it didn't really look that similar.
Mr. Yu possessed an indescribable charm that set him apart from his classmates, though this might simply be because he was prettier than them.
Oh no, I'm thinking about his legs again.
Hengxing turned her head away and stopped looking at him.
Yu Nianqing: "The wind is so strong, Hengxing, shall we fly a kite together?"
Captain Heng, at 18, was still a young man. He thought he had hidden it well, but once he opened his eyes, his envy was almost overflowing.
Upon hearing his invitation, Hengxing initially pretended to firmly refuse, but after a few persistent requests, she obediently followed him to fly a kite, her steps light and cheerful.
Yu Nianqing wasn't as physically fit as her, and after running for more than ten minutes, she was so tired that she sat down on the grass next to her.
Hengxing happily ran around with the kite, and after he got the kite airborne, he went over to him, gave him the string, and let him fly it.
Yu Nianqing couldn't control himself and kept knocking the kite away. But she wasn't angry. She would repeat the same actions until the kite was flying steadily in the air, and then give him the string.
After playing for a while, Yu Nianqing got too tired and transferred ownership of the kite to her so she could play with it by herself.
"Hengxing, who is that?"
When her deskmate and Chu Le returned with a kite, they saw her flying a kite with a strange man and asked her curiously.
Heng Xing looked at the man sprawled on the grass, hesitated for a moment, and then said, "A friend of mine."
Yu Nianqing sat on the grass and watched her chat with her classmates for a while before parting ways, then continued flying her kite alone.
In the sunlight, her waist-length golden hair reflected a shimmering light.
He suddenly realized that during his extracurricular practice at age 18, when he was away, Hengxing was just like that, all alone, sunbathing on the grass.
That's just too pitiful.
Suddenly, an Omega student from another class awkwardly walked towards Hengxing with a kite, as if he wanted Hengxing to teach him how to fly a kite.
Yu Nianqing's smile froze, and she patted the grass clippings off her trousers as she stood up.
Where is the pitifulness?
She could have played with the Omegas from other classes.
He overstepped his bounds.
"Heng, can you teach me? My kite just won't fly."
Heng Xing, holding the rope, spared some energy to deal with this unfamiliar Omega classmate. "Try it in front of me, let me see what's wrong with you."
Omega didn't really want to fly the kite; he just wanted Hengxing to make it fly, so he said in a slightly coquettish tone, "Please help me."
Hengxing felt confused. "If you don't let go, I don't know how to help you."
Yu Nianqing, who had just stood up, sat down on the grass nearby.
Author's Note: Hengxing understood, she just genuinely didn't want to help.
