123 Lincoln March branch line: Bloodless
Aria had been to Wayne Manor, but she had never made the arduous journey through the underground tunnels to get there.
The closer they got to the manor, the more magnificent and complex the sewer structure became, and they even walked into an area that looked like it was possible to drive.
"Some of the tunnels were repaired during the Civil War," Night Owl suddenly explained, "The Wayne family has accumulated enviable capital for their descendants to do good..."
"Unfortunately, in a soil of pure evil, good is nothing more than an accelerant."
"All it takes is oxygen pumped into a flammable gas, a spark..."
"Bang—" Night Owl opened his fingers: "It's all over."
The farmer frowned slightly. She didn't like what Night Owl said. She didn't know what he had communicated with other prisoners in Arkham Asylum. She always felt that his words were full of pessimism and madness.
"That's because there's still too little kindness." Aria couldn't help but retort, "Many times people are just too afraid. They need guidance before they dare to reveal the light hidden in their arms. That's what Batman and Bruce do."
“…I can’t say whether they were successful or not, because it’s unfair to attribute the success or failure of a city to the efforts of a small group of people.”
They stepped into a new section of the pipe, and the bright light above their heads suddenly stopped, and pure darkness swallowed up the surroundings.
Aria subconsciously took a few quick steps to protect Night Owl, but his steps did not slow down because of the darkness, as if this pure black that indicated that the two of them were about to step into a more dangerous area was an area he was more familiar with.
The farmer isn't afraid of the dark, and she still has some things to say: "But I think the people of Gotham are living much better now than before, and that's the point."
- Although she had never seen it with her own eyes, the farmer had also taken a bird's-eye view of Gotham's development with Stephanie.
"What's the point?" Night Owl asked back, "What's the meaning of your so-called 'good'?"
"It's just the creation of a new parallel universe, just the delay of the inevitable increase of entropy. The ultimate destination of all things is disorder and chaos. Everything before that is in vain."
Aria frowned and was about to argue with him about the theory of meaning for another three hundred rounds, but Night Owl stopped and looked at an iron door: "This is it."
…
Something was wrong from the moment the door was opened. Aria watched as Night Owl skillfully took out a set of instruments and connected them to the combination lock, and then the door opened.
They passed a section of pipe, opened a few locks, and then heard the elevator start.
In the open area, the sound was particularly clear, spreading out in circles, and for some reason made the farmer feel vaguely uneasy.
Her uneasiness proved to be justified. As they moved from one level to the next, the farmer's expression changed from "You villain, I think you deserve a beating today" to "Mom, I'm leaving this place."
She wanted to enter Wayne Manor, not sneak into Batman's base!
As for why he was so sure this was Batman's residence - of course it was because the Gotham vigilante had splattered his logo everywhere!
From the familiar Batmobile to the cup with the bat mark, almost everything shows his presence. Even though Batman is currently out of touch, Aria always has the illusion that he will be standing there quietly in the next second.
She had always thought that he lived an ascetic life in the cave, and only when the city was in danger would he come out of the cave, take over the keys to the Batmobile from Bruce Wayne, his rumored sponsor, and start protecting the city.
I never realized Batman is someone who likes to tinker with his own little house using furniture catalogs!
Aria opened her mouth wide, staring at the coins, joker cards, and the dinosaur that was several stories high. If he hadn't taken out the furniture catalog and waited for it immediately, where did he get these huge things from?
But wait…now is not the time to dwell on that.
"A lot of things here look really useful," she said, glancing at the machine Batman had placed in the corner, capable of making three espresso shots at a time, and growing nervous, "but we can't just barge into someone else's house like that."
“…” Ye Xiao silently checked the surveillance footage.
The entire Wayne Manor was cut into a two-dimensional plane by countless such images, filling the three screens with bustling activity.
"This is the Batcave," said Night Owl. "Above the Batcave is Wayne Manor. What do you think the relationship is between Bruce Wayne and Batman?"
This question really stumped the farmer. She scratched her head and thought for a while, then asked uncertainly, "Sponsor and sponsored?"
“…”
The answer is wrong, it is a closer relationship.
"Bunkmates?"
“…”
Night Owl silently turned his head back.
…
Night Owl stopped talking. He seemed to be breaking through the deep system of the Batcomputer, but the farmer returned to his side.
"Wait! Is there anyone else in Wayne Manor?" Aria looked like she was about to break down. "Although I know you probably won't care about them, we must move them away before a fight starts!"
She immediately took action and ran to the Batcave, looking for the elevator to Wayne Manor. "You stay here first, I'll go notify the others - I hope he doesn't have time to do anything to them!"
However, when she was about to reach the elevator, Aria was wrapped up by a hamster ball-like energy barrier that suddenly rose up. Given her unstoppable running posture, the farmer was even bounced back by the reaction force and rolled twice on the ground in embarrassment.
…
"You talk too much, Aria." Night Owl sighed. There was no warmth in his voice, only a cold, tired feeling of having gotten what he wanted. "I didn't want to use the insect trap here, but unfortunately, besides the Bat Cave, it's hard to find another place in the world where you can make an energy trap."
I got scammed! This is even more infuriating than getting a scam call in Stardew Valley!
Aria didn't respond to him. She took out the Galaxy Sword and slashed at the energy shield, but the energy she released was returned meticulously, and her health bar was reduced by a quarter in the blink of an eye.
No, she couldn't use brute force anymore, she had to think of other ways.
"If you have a way to subdue Batman, why don't you present it to your master earlier?" The farmer knew that the energy shield would greatly reduce her threat, but she knew Night Owl. She knew that this man could easily lose his mind if she provoked him with words.
Then it will be her chance!
However, no matter how hard she racked her brains to come up with trash talk, Night Owl didn't refute her. After locking her up, he kept typing on the Batcomputer - making people wonder if he had secretly stuffed cotton in his ears.
Finally, the machine lurking in a corner of the Bat Cave began to turn, until there was a sound, and a space-time tunnel that could distort the surrounding light appeared. Night Owl slowly turned around and faced her again.
"It seems that time doesn't make a person smarter," said the Night Owl from the Antimatter Universe. "You're still like a leafcutter bee driven by instinct, cutting leaves in vain, trying to build your doomed nest."

Entropy increase is a process in which things go from order to disorder. Since the author is not proficient in physics, he can only understand it according to the literal meaning of the search.
I saw the author of the previous chapter's comments section: I moved my eyes and tried to quickly code the next chapter.
Lincoln March will appear in the next chapter TT
