47. Gotham: The Law of Immortality

47. Gotham: The Law of Immortality

55.

The sewer was dark, with only the tactical light stick Batman had thrown on the ground to illuminate everything around him.

Killer Croc gasped and entered a state of combat readiness. The scales on his body were tightly attached to each other, and stretched as much as possible within the limited space. Not only was his body larger than the last time he was captured, but even his shadow seemed to completely cover Batman.

The massive size difference between the two men almost foreshadowed the outcome of the fight, but Aria knew escaping Batman's gaze would be no easy task. In the brief moment Killer Croc took to adjust, he'd pulled out several metal plates from nowhere and attached them to his fists. As their fists drew closer, sparks of electricity emanated from the plates, seemingly undeniably powerful.

The farmer took out a weapon from his equipment bar, trying to buy some time for Killer Croc to escape - the sewer drain was quite deep. If he could delay Batman for a moment, Killer Croc might be able to escape into the water flow. If he could delay a little longer, the water flow would be able to send Killer Croc far away.

The intention of holding the weapon in her hand was too obvious. Batman paid attention to her movements, guarding against Killer Croc who might attack him at any time, and guarding against Aria, and said cautiously: "Killer Croc can't control his animal nature."

"Are you sure you want to let someone like this get away and threaten the lives of civilians?"

"This is a matter between the two of us, Batman!" Dissatisfied with Batman's words, Killer Croc roared and pounced on him: "And I don't need anyone's help!" This is revenge that belongs only to him, and the final consequence should also be borne by Waylon Jones.

The earth trembled, and Crocodile Man's shadow threatened to engulf Batman. Facing the overwhelming pressure like a mountain or sea, Batman clenched his right fist and fired a hook, nailing it to the wall, dodging the opponent's attack like a ghost, which could have killed an adult on the spot.

Killer Croc threw a punch, and the poured cement turned into powder in an instant. Looking at Batman hanging four or five feet above his head, he changed his strategy, grabbed the powder and threw it at Batman.

The powder blurs his vision, and Killer Croc wants to take advantage of the chaos to pull Batman off, ideally disabling him. However, Batman has anticipated his move, and as the powder flies, he uses the reaction force of the grappling hook to swing himself into Killer Croc's blind spot, then suddenly drops!

As soon as it landed on Killer Croc's back, it twisted very cleverly. In order to avoid falling off its back and being crushed by Killer Croc, Batman did not hesitate to choose the most dangerous, but also the most effective method -

He released his hands for balance, wrapped his arms around Killer Croc's neck from behind, and pressed down on his vulnerable spot like a hot iron.

The flesh and blood body wrapped in equipment and the hard body of the beast squeezed out a teeth-grinding creaking sound. Batman seemed to be wrestling with his own weight, but in fact he was looking for the weakest part of Killer Croc's skin. His arm was held by Killer Croc and he could not move, but his feet were still flexible. He aimed at a piece of skin not covered by scales and kicked it.

Killer Croc's expression was obviously stiff, and when Batman moved his foot away, he saw a syringe stuck in it.

This is a dose enough to stun two elephants. Batman never fights a battle unprepared.

The big guy fell to the ground with a thud, and Aria jumped out from the shadows in a hurry. After confirming that Killer Croc was just knocked unconscious, the farmer's mood was obviously relieved a lot.

"Great," she said with delight, her voice loud enough for Batman to hear. "I knew NPCs wouldn't die." This was just a farming game after all, where those with bright health bars were targets for attack. If NPCs, who you could interact with and increase your favorability with on a daily basis, could die, it would truly be a dark version.

As she spoke, Aria easily dragged Killer Croc, who was anesthetized and half lying in the sewage river, ashore and put him in the best position for lying down.

After doing all this, Aria didn't forget to pat the other party's deformed crocodile head. Even though the other party couldn't hear, her tone was quite gentle:

"Take some sleep, and everything will be fine when you wake up."

She sighed softly, "It would be nice if we could resolve the issue without a fight next time."

“…”

Before the GCPD arrived, Batman turned the button on his light stick to dim the ambient light.

All the detectives breathed a sigh of relief when they were able to capture Killer Croc without losing any personnel. However, even when facing the anesthetized Killer Croc, these detectives still retained a certain human vigilance and fear of aliens. After a long period of back-and-forth, they let the newcomer Mark step forward to tie Killer Croc with a restraint.

Transporting such an unconscious giant was about as difficult as transporting over 700 pounds of meat. The GCPD had to call in a small crane to get the behemoth out of the sewer, but compared to enduring Killer Croc's punches and kicks on the wall and the floor, this kind of trivial task was certainly more suitable for them.

After successfully apprehending Killer Croc, Gordon felt relieved and had the energy to glance at Batman and the people around him.

Gordon remembered that there was once a girl who served as Robin. Now the sewers were only illuminated by the flashlights of a few police officers and Batman's fluorescent sticks. In this dim light, the person next to Batman was vaguely similar in height to the previous one, so he just started a joke.

"New Robin?" He thought Batman had finally heard the media's criticism and was preparing to recruit another girl to balance the gender ratio of previous Robins.

"No," Batman said succinctly. When he noticed several GCPD detectives trying to get a clear view of Aria by carrying Killer Croc, his armored wrist moved, and his cape lifted slightly behind him, blocking everyone's view.

Detectives who failed to obtain first-hand gossip: cough cough.

The light was already dim, and now Aria's vision was completely blocked by the cloak:???

Not only the cape, Batman even moved his steps, from the two of them walking side by side to him standing in front.

Aria jumped back and forth between the two thoughts of "Am I something shameful?" and "Does he want to grab the center position in the sewer?" for a while, and decided to strategically give in first.

After all, the other party can outsmart Waylon and he really made the farmer suffer in the previous battle, so just give in.

He who knows the times is a hero... In the last game, the guard threw a bomb at the casino because he tried to exploit a bug. The AAA agricultural and sideline product dealers all gave in at the speed of light and completed the task honestly before receiving the membership card.

Five minutes later, after Gordon confirmed that everything was ready, Batman was ready to turn around and leave - because Aria was following him, he didn't "turn around" this time, which surprised Gordon a little.

...He thought these two people would disappear in a flash.

Compared to the surface world, Gotham's sewers are deep and complex, a labyrinth built for the Minotaur. Even a Gotham native would get lost if they strayed into them, let alone a stranger who was most likely from Kansas.

The previous glow stick was left with the GCPD, and when Batman pulled another one from his belt, the farmer hurried to stop him.

Aria put the small ring of light back on, and a warm and eternal light spread out from her, illuminating the area before her.

"Let's save that for next time." As a farmer, Aria sets an example by not wasting money. She even picks up trash on the ground to see if it can be recycled into coal or iron ore.

Batman said nothing, but retracted the glow stick. He seemed to have come here just to be a guide to lead her out of the maze, but Aria was quite talkative, and after just a short walk, she seemed to regard him as an acquaintance and started chatting with herself.

"What do you mean by Killer Croc having trouble suppressing his animal instincts?" The farmer thought for a moment, seemingly unsure of his conclusion. He sought enlightenment from this seemingly wiser man. "Mr. Batman, do you believe humans can die?"

There was an unexpected incident today, I will make up for it tomorrow

Aria: Next time, hold a farming competition. If you lose, go back to Arkham. (Like)

I saw some little angels supporting Aria and Killer Croc (stunned.jpg). Although they have a different kind of friendship (gesturing), it doesn’t matter. The little angels are free!
