The farmer followed his gaze, carefully examining Red Hood, and concluded, "It's hard to say."
“…”
The Red Hood and his magical red bucket that could reveal people's expressions were silent for a moment. It felt like a sneer was about to fly out of the bucket in the next second - but he finally suppressed the impulse.
According to the farmer, these things have the effect of restoring "blood" or energy - although Jason Todd is more inclined to believe that this is the product of some kind of magical blessing, and has no intention of relying on this path at all, but -
“…Thank you.”
Jason Todd lowered his voice to say this simple word, as if it would be blown away by the wind in the alley or somewhere else and disappear in the corner as soon as it was spoken.
Unfortunately, the farmer has always had good hearing.
"You're welcome," Aria said, gently piercing through the protective shell that tried to isolate herself from the crowd, and smiled, "I can tell you're not good at saying thank you, so I know these words are sincere."
"But I don't think friends need to be so polite. If we thank our friends for everything we get, we'll probably be standing on the street thanking each other a thousand times."
The farmer imitated Red Hood's tone, pretending to be profound: "If you still feel the need to thank me, leave it to someone who needs it more."
“…”
Seeing that Red Hood and his barrel were about to explode, Aria decided to quit while she was ahead and not continue to fluctuate on his precarious mood index - if she continued to fluctuate, she was worried that her favorability would return to the level before the game started overnight.
So the farmer sorted out her inventory with one click and focused her attention on the sewer outlet closest to them: "Well, see you next time?" She had a lot of love to give out today, and her schedule was as full as stuffing hops into a keg in summer.
Jason Todd took a deep breath, his chestplate rising and falling with it. Watching Aria expertly lift the manhole cover, his repressed urge to complain overcame his temporary reluctance to speak to her.
"You always go through the sewers when you go out?" If he didn't know that she owned a farm, he would really think that this was a mutated rat spirit from Gotham - if the farmer continued to run around like this, a new Gotham legend would probably emerge soon.
"Not necessarily?" Aria thought for a moment. "I was planning on going to City Hall, but walking straight in would alert the mayor..." With summer approaching and her money gathered, the farmer simply wanted to go there and see if she could meet the Junimo to complete the sacrifice at the bus stop. If Lewis knew she was coming, she'd probably have to come up with another excuse to get the mayor out of the way before she could have a proper conversation with the Junimo.
Jason Todd raised his eyebrows slightly under the bucket. He couldn't think of a reason why he, as the mayor's bodyguard, had to avoid the mayor, but he patted the back of the motorcycle and said in a tone that said he would never give you a ride again: "I'll give you a ride."
Transportation is always faster than scrambling in the sewers.
"You dare go to City Hall?" Aria had a new understanding of the acceptance level of the citizens of Zuzu City. "What if the guards surround you?"
Although she could use a ladder to take him away, the farmer would certainly feel bad about leaving them a motorcycle that looked very expensive.
Red Hood didn't answer this question. His motorcycle seemed to have undergone a new round of modifications compared to the last time. As soon as it started, it rushed out like an arrow, raising a lot of dust on the streets of Zuzu City.
——Then he placed Aria next to a store less than thirty meters away from the city hall.
The ancient building of the City Hall lost its gloomy atmosphere under the sunlight. Because of the attack, the patrol intensity of the City Hall guards was much greater than before, but Red Hood casually parked his motorcycle on the side of the road, calm and composed like a tourist who came to visit.
"There's a shift change in the southwest corner in ten minutes," he said, as if asking her if she wanted to buy an ice cream on the side of the road. "It's not time for me to go back to the safe house to cook yet. Do you need me to help you lead them away?"
"No, no!" The farmer shook his head firmly. "Lewis was already scared to death by the last explosion. What if you make another big noise and scare the mayor into resigning?"
This is lurking, not a raid! Without Lewis, who would still treat her as a player?
…
At Aria's insistence, she finally sneaked into the city hall alone.
She first used a slingshot to attract the attention of the guards on duty. While they were checking for unusual noises, the farmer sprinted to the closed side door and took out her infiltration weapon - a wooden chair.
She plopped down on the chair and jumped forward, successfully wedging herself into the city hall. When the guards came back, they would probably only look puzzled at the chair that appeared at the door.
Everything in the city hall was the same as when Aria came here before. She was familiar with the place and avoided the patrolmen. She searched the third floor for a while and successfully found the green apple in the corner.
"Hi, little one." Aria whispered to the Junimo, "What do you think of the Junimo Embassy I proposed last time? Let me know when you've figured it out, and I can open up a separate piece of land for you." Otherwise, running around like this would require her to get much more exercise than when she was going from the farm to the community.
The little green apple blinked its small eyes. It seemed the Junimos weren't much more efficient. The farmer, undeterred, took out all the money he'd saved and placed it before the Junimos. The banknotes transformed into golden coins, the in-game currency Aria was more familiar with.
Patting the Junimo's head with his finger, the farmer spoke in a supervisory voice, "I'm sure you can fix this quickly with magic." Summer is the best time to plant carambola! Carambola seeds are only available in large quantities in desert shops.
Based on past experience, the bus stop will be repaired the next day after a good night's sleep - provided the farmers know where they have repaired the bus stop.
So she continued, "...as a little reward to me, could you tell me the specific transportation method after the game is repaired?" The game has been modified to this extent, and the farmer no longer pursues the fundamentalist bus method of transportation. Tell her to jump into a hole to reach the desert, and she can do it with her eyes closed.
The Junimo nodded, gathered the coins together, raised them above his head, and vanished through the wall.
Done! The farmer, having completed the bus sacrifice, stood up and quickly added the next task to his to-do list.
She was about to start solving the puzzle.
…
"Hello, are you a visitor?" The Wayne Tower guide looked at the other person with a smile. The woman was wearing a classic set of overalls, her skin was perfectly tanned by the sun, and her whole body exuded the scent of abundant sunshine and land - very much in the style of a Western pioneer, and it was obvious at a glance that she was not a local.
The woman nodded, and when she smiled, she had two dimples, which made people feel close to her.
Is retro Western style popular recently? She secretly made a note of this trend and continued to remind, "Then you just need to show your reservation information. The Wayne Tower is open to the public free of charge on weekends."
Aria handed the decorative phone to her and showed her her reservation information. As a friendly suggestion to tourists, the guide pointed her to a different route: "Take the sightseeing elevator on your right. It's completely transparent, and you can see most of Gotham City as you ascend."
Even if you avoid sunset on weekends, you will inevitably bump into waves of people. When you walk towards the scenic elevator, it is almost half full. The farmer hesitated for a moment and prepared to wait for the next elevator.
But the elevator door did not close smoothly as Aria expected - someone pressed the wait button for her.
Probably a college student from Zuzu City, the blonde woman pressed the wait button while waving at the farmer, signaling her to come over quickly. "Come on, there's still room here, or you'll have to wait a long time for the next one."
"Thank you." Aria stepped into the elevator and thanked them. She casually asked, "Are you tourists too?"
"We?" The blonde woman glanced at her companion. Perhaps it was the cheerful, sunny energy of college students that led to the misunderstanding. Her friend explained, "We're from the Gotham University photography club, and we're here to take some city photos for our project."
"Yes," the other black-haired girl beside her nodded in agreement. "We were originally worried about where to take the panoramic photo, but it was Steph who recommended this place to us."
In the scenic elevator, Aria looked down at the elevator buttons, figuring that she would have to find a reason to leave and go to the thirteenth floor later - but there was nothing on the buttons that she wanted.
The farmer's hand hesitated between twelve and fourteen, and it was obvious that she was quite confused.
"There's no thirteenth floor here," the blonde girl beside Aria smiled at her. She pressed the button for the top floor, and the elevator ascended smoothly and silently. After leaving the departure level, most of the city unfolded before them. "This is a pseudo-floor, found in many buildings in Gotham. It's said to trap bad luck."
Seeing Aria looking at her, the girl shrugged, but the camera on her back didn't move with her. "But that's all old news."
"——Wayne no longer believes in this."
