Chapter Seventy-Two: Thor

Chapter 73 Thor

"Hello, are you Mr. Gear?" Jane Foster asked cautiously.

Not far away, a group of burly men in black suits were loading her experimental equipment, computers, and even everything else in the house into a car.

Meanwhile, her assistant and friend Daisy Louise was arguing with the man in the suit who was leading the group: "Listen, we also know the so-called S.H.I.E.L.D. officer you're talking about, so don't touch our stuff. Wait until Jane finishes her call, understand?"

But as Daisy spoke, the man in the suit still wore that arrogant smile, a smile that clearly revealed a hint of disdain.

Furthermore, the man in the suit made no attempt to stop his men from acting.

Seeing the expression on the man in the suit not far away, Jane felt even more panicked.

A moment later, a calm young voice came from the other end: "Yes, I am Ger. What can I do for you, Jane Foster?"

Jane breathed a sigh of relief when she heard Gert say his name: "Thank God you still remember me."

When Ger first approached her, she thought he was just an ordinary student seeking advice. But after chatting for a while, she discovered that he was indeed talented and his knowledge was comparable to that of many PhDs.

Before they parted, Gel told her that he was very interested in the Einstein-Rosen bridge and that she could contact him if she ever got to that part of her research, or if she ever ran into trouble. He said he was an officer of the mysterious organization S.H.I.E.L.D., and Gel even showed her his S.H.I.E.L.D. credentials.

Jane had never heard of S.H.I.E.L.D. and didn't take it to heart until she actually met Einstein Rosenbridge and heard the man in the suit say that they were from S.H.I.E.L.D. Then she suddenly remembered Gol and, with nothing to lose, called Gol.

"It's like this, there's someone claiming to be from S.H.I.E.L.D., I don't know if he's in your department. He illegally stole my equipment, so he wanted to contact you to see if you could..." Jane had never been so abrupt as to call someone to ask for a favor before, and she didn't even know what to say, "Besides, I assembled most of these instruments myself to observe the Einstein-Rosen bridge. If you want to observe the Einstein-Rosen bridge, and if he didn't steal it, perhaps you could come with me..."

Listening to her hesitant words, Gerl smiled and interrupted her: "Jane, don't worry. Now tell me what this S.H.I.E.L.D. person you're talking about looks like."

Gel's calm voice instantly calmed Jane down. Jane glanced at the man in the suit and described him: "He's less than 1.8 meters tall, wearing a rather expensive-looking suit, looks to be in his thirties, has small eyes, and seems to be balding. Most importantly, he looks very shrewd."

“Coulson, this is the Coulson you’re talking about.” Gel’s voice carried a strong sense of certainty. “Give him the phone, I’ll talk to him.”

Jane walked back with some doubt, and when she saw Daisy's questioning look, she could only give a helpless smile.

“Robber, this is also your S.H.I.E.L.D. officer. He wants to speak to you.” Jane’s eyes immediately turned fierce the moment she saw Coulson.

Coulson wore an arrogant yet helpless expression. He didn't answer the phone, but simply handed Jane a check: "This is a requisition from S.H.I.E.L.D., and the money in it is enough for you to buy two sets of equipment. Please don't disturb my work."

This number couldn't possibly belong to Nick, and he didn't believe these people really knew the "officer" of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Furthermore, with Nick's support, he doesn't need to give face to others.

Jane took a deep breath, didn't take the check, but forcefully held her phone towards Coulson.

Coulson reluctantly took the phone and said, "Hello, this is Coulson from S.H.I.E.L.D."

“This is Gol. Coulson. You can recognize my voice, right?” Gol’s voice came through the phone.

The familiar voice made Coulson pause for a moment, and his arrogant expression immediately disappeared: "I can tell, Mr. Gel."

He hadn't forgotten that three weeks ago, when he was impersonating Nick Fury and had been captured by Iron Man, it was Ger who saved him. But why would this astrophysicist know Ger?

Jane and Daisy, who were standing nearby, saw Coulson's changing expression and a glimmer of hope instantly ignited in their hearts.

"What, when did S.H.I.E.L.D. learn to act like thugs and hooligans, robbing whatever they see? Or has this always been the way S.H.I.E.L.D. operate?" Gel said coldly into his phone.

What he has always hated is people who use their position to make things difficult for others.

Gell's words made Coulson's face turn ugly, but he didn't dare to utter a single word of rebuttal, only explaining in a low voice, "It's like this, there have been unusual energy fluctuations in New Mexico, and a mysterious hammer has appeared. Based on the recommendations of relevant agents, I requisitioned this..."

Coulson covered the microphone, a genuine smile on his face: "Beautiful lady, what is your name?"

Jane immediately replied, "Jane Foster."

Coulson released his hand from the microphone and continued, "...Miss Jane Foster's experimental equipment, and relevant compensation has already been made."

Gel didn't intend to waste any more words with him: "They are professors I knew from my school days, and now they say they've been given a hard time by you. Besides, even if we wanted to do research, we could have invited them to join. I don't think any of our agents are more professional in astrophysics than them. Or do I need to apply to Director Nick before you can choose to cooperate with them, instead of forcibly 'buying' their equipment?"
