The bright moon high in the sky cast a long shadow of the Abomination, enveloping most of the people around it. After a loud roar, the Abomination blinked its blood-red eyes and looked down at everyone below as if it were looking at prey.
Although the group knew about the unrest in the distant streets, it was the first time they had ever seen such a gigantic monster as the Abomination. Their innate instincts caused most of them to quickly retreat in fear.
"Bang!"
Suddenly, a gunshot rang out, echoing in the small space, followed by several more.
A feeling of pain shot through his body, and he twisted his rugged face, looking down toward the direction of the gunshot.
There stood an old man, his hand trembling, holding a pistol, wisps of smoke rising from its tip. Several other men stood beside him, also holding pistols. Presumably, the bullets had been fired from their guns.
However, their hands were shaking.
Behind them were Peter and Harry.
"With me here, you won't hurt them!" The old man looked at him with hatred, trying his best to make a threatening expression. But such an expression on his face had no deterrent effect whatsoever.
A burly man in a suit moved closer to the old man, seemingly trying to cover Spider-Man and Green Wind Man even more. Swallowing hard, the burly man raised his pistol: "Yes, you'll need to get past me first."
"roar!"
The abomination seemed to be getting annoyed. It opened its blood-red maw and roared, then stared at the group and slammed its fist down heavily.
"No, no!"
Peter limped through the crowd, bracing himself with his hands. Harry immediately rushed forward, raising his arms to try and take the punch head-on with Peter.
They had no other options.
The Abomination's fist drew ever closer, and for the first time, Peter hated his spider-sense so much: it made his senses so strong that the Abomination's fist seemed slow to him, and he even saw many other people gathered around him, raising their fists to try and take the blow with him.
Peter knew perfectly well that they couldn't withstand that punch. But there were too many people around, and with his current abilities, he simply couldn't save them, nor could he.
Listening to the sound of the fist flying and watching the fist getting closer and closer, Peter sighed deeply.
Perhaps this is the last moment of my life.
But he still couldn't save the people around him, and he missed his Uncle Ben, Aunt May, and Gwen...
Scenes flashed through Peter's mind, and filled with despair, Peter closed his eyes.
But at that moment, a deep voice echoed through the space that had fallen into despair.
"Mirror space, appear!"
At the same time, a figure stepped out from the portal in mid-air.
