Chapter Fifty-Seven: An Unexpected Helper

Winter Warrior!

Slowly, despair crept onto Natasha's face. Under normal circumstances, she might have been able to fight back against the Winter Soldier by using the terrain, but she never expected the potion to be so potent. At this moment, she had completely lost the ability to move.

Yes, she was alone from beginning to end.

Although she joined S.H.I.E.L.D. under Hawkeye's influence, she was still seen as Black Widow by others, a spy by Tony, and even Nick Fury never let his guard down around her.

At this point, who can she expect from?

The light from the flashlight shining on her face made the pain and deathly stillness on her face extremely clear.

But in the midst of this silence, suddenly, a somewhat mischievous yet inexplicably reassuring boy's voice rang out, breaking the brief stillness in the laboratory: "She's not alone."

"who?"

The surrounding agents immediately reacted and pointed their guns in all directions.

Upon hearing this voice, Natasha's face suddenly broke into a smile, which then grew wider and wider, revealing a rare sincerity.

She recognized the voice.

Natasha felt a gentle breeze around her, and then all the guns in the hands of the agents surrounding her disappeared.

Immediately afterwards, she felt herself being lifted up as well.

"Quicksilver?" This scene immediately reminded the Winter Soldier of something. With a serious expression, one of the Winter Soldiers immediately said to the agents behind him, "Get out of here!"

"Bang!"

"Click".

After the sound of the iron gate closing tightly, there was the sound of iron pins closing one after another. In the laboratory, there was no one else besides the group of agents.

Outside the lab, Natasha looked at Pietro in front of her, her eyes filled with surprise: "Pietro, why are you...?"

Natasha had many questions, including why he escaped and why he seemed unbrainwashed.

"We'll talk about it later. Let me take you a little further away first. That room shouldn't be able to hold them." Pietro activated his speed ability and quickly ran with Natasha towards other parts of the underground space.

Sure enough, a moment later, the sound of shattering glass reached their ears.

Pietro stopped somewhere, not knowing where he had arrived.

Through the dark red glow of Natasha's skin, Pietro saw the pain on Natasha's face and grimaced in empathy, saying, "Sister Natasha, your pain will probably last a while longer."

"Wasn't it all dark where we passed through?" Natasha asked, gritting her teeth against the pain as she looked around at the pitch blackness.

Pietro nodded: "Yes, but I just saw lights still faintly on in other areas, though they seemed to be blocked from our area by an iron gate. I was going to go take a look, but I heard the commotion over there and confirmed your location, so I rushed over, and I didn't expect to see you there."

“That means the entire underground space uses multiple independent power networks.” Natasha gripped Pietro’s clothes, gritting her teeth as she spoke, each word distinct. “Right now, Pierce can’t contact the agents in this area, and he doesn’t know you’ve escaped and rescued me. That’s our advantage. Pietro, take me to a place with computers! We have to be quick, before they sabotage the network lines!”

Natasha knew very well that this highly private laboratory would never allow researchers to bring any communication devices that could connect them to the outside world. In fact, for the sake of secrecy, all walkie-talkies could only communicate with the outside world through a dedicated switchboard. When the switchboard was powered off, all the walkie-talkies used for communication in this area would become useless.

Now, she and Pietro are the only two on her side, and she has even lost most of her ability to fight due to the serum. Most importantly, she has absolutely no idea how many hidden agents Hydra has deployed in this underground space.

Therefore, the communication device management mechanism, originally designed for privacy, now became an obstacle to communication between Pierce and the agents, and also an opportunity for Natasha.

The area outside the laboratory where Natasha was originally imprisoned was now a scene of utter devastation.

Damn it!

The Winter Soldier stared at the walkie-talkie in his hand, which was still unable to reconnect, cursed angrily, and then smashed it on the ground. Unable to contact Pierce, they could only act on their own judgment, and in their judgment, their first priority was to capture Natasha and Pietro.

Meanwhile, in a secluded room in New York.

Pierce looked at the partially blacked-out monitor screen, pressed another button beside him, and said, "Natasha has escaped. Her goal must be to find a network that can communicate. But with her strength and speed, she may not be able to escape the lab. However, just to be on the safe side, send two agents to pick up the personnel in Area A."

“Sector A is currently without power, and their communication equipment is no longer working, so we cannot make contact with them. Therefore, you need to tell them not to use all their manpower to capture Natasha. As long as we cut off the network in Zone A, Natasha won't be able to cause any major trouble. At the same time, send some people to guard the gate separating the two zones. If Natasha tries to break into your zone, you can kill her.”

"At this point, you can use all the means at your disposal."

Unaware of all this, Pietro was helping Natasha run towards the place where he remembered the lights.
