Chapter 105 The Avengers, Assemble!
"ah!"
The once bustling streets were now filled with people fleeing in all directions, and even those who were originally on the battlefield had been evacuated here.
The air-raid shelters were completely overflowing. Those who had tried every means to escape were all crammed onto the road. They watched the aircraft carrier crashing down from the sky, screaming and pushing the people next to them, trying to escape, but there were people everywhere and there was no way to get away.
In the crowded throng, a large number of people collapsed to the ground. Among them were parents holding their children's hands and couples holding hands. They knew clearly that today might be their last day on earth.
Perhaps sometimes, a silent death is a form of mercy. Because at that moment, they can only watch helplessly as their death approaches, powerless to stop it.
Panic and deathly silence spread instantly.
Even Pietro could only stare at that spot with lifeless eyes, utterly helpless. There were too many people around who needed his rescue, and countless aliens and "whale" warships were emerging from the black spatial rift in the sky. Even with fighter jets arriving to provide support, and Harry and Hawkeye already on their way to the rescue, it was still far from enough.
At this point, Pietro no longer knew who he should save and who he shouldn't save.
The Hulk and She-Hulk tried to escape to stop the falling Sky Carrier, but were ambushed by Black Dwarf and Corvus Glaive, and were injured instead.
Only the Abomination roared as it leaped off one of the Sky Carriers, landing on the ground, trying to hold up the Sky Carrier.
Although he had enough strength, the ground around him did not harden at all because of his strength.
He knew that the role he could play was very, very small.
The aircraft carrier in the sky was falling faster and faster, and it even turned into a huge fireball. The wind it was accompanied by carried heat and blew into the faces of all the screaming people, turning their faces red.
Just as an atmosphere of despair was spreading, suddenly, a clear voice resounded throughout the space, like the last glimmer of salvation that people heard before the end of the world, bringing an instant sense of peace to their hearts.
"Mirror space, now."
The crisp sound of wind chimes rang out, and everyone seemed to see a blur before their eyes, as if something around them had changed. Then, to everyone's horror, they discovered that the three spaceships falling from the sky, the aliens in the sky, the flying "whale" warship, and even the explosions and thick smoke that had been everywhere in the sky had vanished instantly.
The entire sky was clear and sunny.
The sun shone down as usual, falling on everyone's faces and dispelling all the gloom, as if the battle had never happened.
Everyone stood there, stunned, looking up at the sky, unable to believe what they were seeing.
But then someone suddenly realized that it seemed there were two people in the sky.
One of them was dressed in a tight-fitting, dark red outfit resembling a form-fitting suit of armor, with a dark red crown on her head. Her light golden hair fluttered in the wind, making her look like the goddess Athena from mythology for that moment.
The other, dressed in a long white robe, had his face tightly covered by a white mask, revealing only a pair of bright eyes. A light gray energy slowly surged around him, making him appear like a savior god.
"The Scarlet Witch, the White-Robed Wizard."
Someone murmured something, and then a glimmer of hope suddenly welled up in everyone's hearts, as if a seed was struggling to sprout from the soil in their hearts.
If someone were to ask who the most popular superhero on Earth is, many people would probably hesitate slightly between Captain America, Spider-Man, Iron Man, the White Wizard, and Scarlet Witch.
But if you ask who the most powerful superhero on Earth is, everyone will probably tell you it's the White Wizard.
Anyone who knows about the White Wizard's battles against the Hulk and She-Hulk will vividly remember just how terrifying the White Wizard's power was.
That was an inhuman level of power.
And this superhero arrived just in time, just as they had countless times before when they needed the white-robed wizard.
A moment later, Gol's voice echoed through the space once more, and at the same time, portals appeared beside each of the superheroes.
"Avengers, Assemble!"
The clear voice, like a resounding drumbeat, instantly ignited everyone's passion. Tony, Rogers, Natasha, Pietro, and others stepped through the portal and arrived beside Gel.
The television screen instantly merged from multiple images into one.
At that moment, everyone could clearly see that the hope in their hearts had all come together. Countless people even covered their mouths, letting tears flow uncontrollably.
They didn't even know why they were crying.
Flying highest and in the center was the white-robed wizard, with Iron Man, Iron Woman, Green Wind Man, and Scarlet Witch flying around him, forming a circle on all four sides. Spider-Man, Spider-Woman, Captain America, Quicksilver, Hawkeye, Thor, and Black Widow stood on the ground, forming a circle. Beside them stood three tall figures, roaring towards the sky—the Hulk, She-Hulk, and Abomination!
"roar!"
"roar!"
"roar!"
Three enormous roars seemed to prove to the world that they had arrived!
“Humble mortals,” Ebony Maw said, glancing slightly at the technological alien, in a voice only the two of them could hear, “Activate the spatial lockdown.”
