Chapter 79 The Terrifying Ancient Winter Coffin
"Jane, Daisy, you two run!" Thor's expression turned serious as he watched the Destroyer approach. He roared at Jane, Daisy, and Eric.
Jane, Daisy, and Eric immediately got up and ran away from the Destroyer—they knew that staying there would only be a hindrance to the Warriors Three and Sif, and that their abilities would only be a death sentence if they went there.
The Destroyer paid no attention to Jane, Daisy, and Eric's escape; he simply started running towards Thor!
"Bang!"
With each step the Destroyer took, the ground trembled, and scorching flames surged from its abdomen toward its face once more. The astonishing heat instantly turned the faces of everyone around it grim.
"Thor, you have lost all your power, so get away from the battlefield!" Sif shouted to Thor, and then immediately joined the Warriors Three of Asgard to meet the Destroyer.
"Boom! Bang!"
The sounds of battle echoed across the arena, the surrounding ground almost entirely engulfed in flames. Unfortunately, the battlefield seemed to have become the Destroyer's domain; even with the Warriors Three and Sif fighting valiantly, they were utterly powerless and forced into a relentless retreat.
Fortunately, the four cooperated and were not directly hit by the Destroyer's flames, otherwise one of them might have been killed in battle.
Thor was completely helpless and could only watch as the Warriors Three and Sif's injuries worsened.
Not far from the battlefield, Ger was hiding here.
"Fortunately, the plot hasn't changed; Loki still sent the Destroyer." Gale breathed a sigh of relief, then looked around as if searching for something. After a moment, Gale murmured, "Loki, are you here too?"
Through these days of deliberate probing, Gale has gained a deeper understanding of the Rainbow Bridge: even if others use the Rainbow Bridge, they can still observe many places in the Nine Realms, but they cannot see as comprehensively as Heimdall's All-Seeing Eye.
Perhaps Loki is watching this battlefield from beside the Rainbow Bridge in Asgard, or perhaps he is hiding somewhere, observing Thor's suffering and waiting for Gale to intervene.
But Goll knew he couldn't act rashly, and he couldn't let Loki become aware of his presence. Once Thor awakened, everything would turn around, and then it would be Loki's turn to worry.
Ger will never forget that his ultimate goal is to obtain alien energy!
"when!"
Suddenly, a loud bang drew Gale's attention, and he frowned deeply—on the battlefield, only the Destroyer and Thor remained standing, while the Warriors Three and Sif had completely lost their fighting ability and could only watch helplessly as the Destroyer drew closer.
But suddenly, Sif frowned, looking at Thor with a mixture of confusion and shock, and asked, "Thor, what are you trying to do?"
Not far away, Thor suddenly emerged from his hiding place and walked towards the Destroyer. Even when Sif asked a question, Thor seemed not to hear her, simply walking without turning his head, and then stood opposite the Destroyer.
"Brother, are you controlling it?" Thor looked at the Destroyer, as if he could see Loki through the Destroyer, his eyes filled with helplessness and heartache.
He didn't know how things had come to this. And why Loki had lied to him and then tried to kill him.
The Destroyer remained unmoved by Thor's words. A ball of flame emerged from its abdomen and then rapidly rose towards its face.
This scene has just happened countless times: when the flames gather on the Destroyer's face, that's when the flames will be unleashed!
But at this moment, Thor could only look up at the Destroyer and shout, "Brother, I don't know what I did to wrong you, or what I did to make you like this. I'm truly sorry, but those people are innocent. Killing them will do you no good; it will only weaken Asgard's power. If you really want to kill, then take my life."
As Thor finished speaking, the flames that were about to erupt from the Destroyer's face slowly receded, and the steel on its face closed up piece by piece, restoring it to its original appearance.
Then, the Destroyer slowly turned around.
Thor saw that the Destroyer seemed to have given up and his expression softened slightly, even showing a hint of a smile—he knew Loki would never really have the heart to kill him.
Perhaps everything that happened before was just a misunderstanding.
"call."
Not far away, the three warriors of the Celestial Palace, supporting each other, breathed a sigh of relief, their faces looking much more relaxed.
But the next moment, the expressions of the three of them changed at the same time—the Destroyer suddenly raised his hand and pounded heavily on Thor's chest.
"Bang!"
"Snap!"
A muffled thud and the sound of bones shattering occurred simultaneously, and Thor was propelled into the air by the sudden force, arcing through the air before crashing heavily to the ground.
Thor finally collapsed on the ground after rolling around several times and kicking up a cloud of dust.
"Sol!"
Sif's pupils constricted sharply, and she let out a miserable cry as she ran towards Thor, enduring the pain. She hadn't forgotten that Thor was now sealed away, and his body was only at the level of an ordinary Midgardian!
Thor absolutely cannot withstand this blow.
Panicked, Sif finally approached Thor, and when she saw his face, she immediately cried out, "No!"
