Chapter Twenty-Five: The Magical Library Available for Borrowing

As they spoke, the two arrived at the martial arts training ground, where many disciples were lined up neatly, seemingly practicing some kind of magic.

As the sun slowly disappeared behind the mountains, the sky gradually darkened. They raised one hand and drew circles in front of them with the other. As they moved, some firelight flickered. Gradually, the firelight began to expand, and a spatial hole appeared in the center of the firelight.

As it grew darker, the firelight around the spatial rift became even brighter.

"Is this spatial magic?" Ger asked, watching their movements with interest.

The Ancient One nodded: "This is a spatial magic belonging to Kamar-Taj. You can use this portal to teleport to wherever you want to go."

At that moment, all the disciples saw the Ancient One, stopped what they were doing, and bowed to her, saying, "Sorcerer Supreme."

The Ancient One smiled and nodded at them.

They all noticed Gel beside the Ancient One and were immediately curious—those who came to Kamar-Taj were usually disabled and desperate, exuding an aura of despair. This was the first time they had seen someone like Gel, whose body was perfectly healthy and whose spirit seemed quite good.

Gel smiled politely at the people looking over and continued to the Ancient One, "The portal they use seems somewhat similar to my portal, but also somewhat different."

The Ancient One smiled with interest: "Then can I take a look at your portal?"

Ger didn't hold back either. With a thought, without making any gestures, a slowly expanding spatial portal appeared in front of him. However, there was no firelight at the edge of this portal.

If it weren't for the different scenery before and after the portal, you wouldn't even be able to tell that it's a portal.

The Ancient One glanced at the portal and nodded: "Different paths, same destination. Though the processes are different, the results are the same."

Seeing that the time was right, Ger withdrew the portal.

The disciples watching looked at Ge'er's hands, seemed to have discovered something, and began to whisper among themselves.

Then, a white man with a braid stepped forward, his tone sharp: "What kind of magic did you use? Why can you use magic without using a slingshot?"

“This is my disciple Kaecilius.” The Ancient One still had a faint smile on her face as she explained to Gel, then took off a ring from her finger and handed it to Gel. “The sling ring is the medium through which we, the disciples of Kamar-Taj, borrow power from the Vishanti to cast spells.”

Gel noticed the name "Vishanti" but didn't ask any further questions. He took the ring and examined it carefully.

The sling ring was a two-finger ring engraved with mysterious patterns. When Ger put on the sling ring, he sensed it with his consciousness and felt that his consciousness seemed to be able to borrow power from some mysterious being through distant time and space.

Gol's expression clearly indicated that this was his first time using the Sling Ring. Casillas couldn't help but want to ask again, but he saw that Gol had already raised his head and was looking at him.

"Who are you?" Ger looked at him indifferently, his eyes seemingly carrying a hint of disdain.

Kaecilius straightened his chest: "I am Kaecilius, the most talented disciple of Kamar-Taj."

Seeing that no one around him seemed to be dissatisfied, Ger realized that Casillas was indeed very talented in magic.

But Ger's expression remained unchanged; he simply stared directly into Casillas's eyes: "So what? What does it matter to me that you're the most talented disciple of Kamar-Taj? Why should I tell you?"

Kaecilius was enraged by Gol's attitude and said sternly, "All knowledge of Kamar-Taj is shared, so you must tell me."

“But I’m not from Kamar-Taj, and I think there’s something wrong with you.” Gel pointed to his head.

Casillas had never encountered someone like Gol who didn't obey him like this before in Kamar-Taj, and he was immediately enraged.

Some of the people behind Casillas wore expressions of pleasure, as if they had long harbored resentment towards Casillas, while others wore expressions of equal anger, as if Ger had insulted them.

But Ger didn't care what these people were thinking. He turned around and followed the Ancient One toward the library, without even glancing at Kaecilius again.

Enraged, Casillas grabbed a magical artifact and whipped it into a lash, striking Gel with it.

"Enough!"

The Ancient One whirled around and waved at Kaecilius. Time seemed to reverse around Kaecilius, and he was sent flying backward in the opposite direction, landing on the ground.

At this moment, Ger was already standing on the steps of the library, looking down at Casillas.

But after taking a few deep breaths, Casillas still didn't dare to make another move, and just stared fiercely at Gel.

"Let's go." The Ancient One led Gale into the library.

The library doesn't look very big, similar to the small libraries that Geer saw from the outside. Several dim, antique lamps hang above it, and as soon as you walk in, you can smell the unique scent of books from a bygone era.

Perhaps because it was cultivation time, there was no one else in the library except for a thin librarian.

“Casillas was a bit offensive just now,” the Ancient One said as she walked with Gale through the library.

Ger smiled and said, "Every family has its own problems, especially since these people are just your disciples."
