Chapter 152 Quill, Son of the Gods

Chapter 153 Quill, Son of the Gods

"I am the god sung about on many planets, little spider." Although Ego's tone was calm, everyone could still hear a hint of pride and self-satisfaction in it.

At this moment, Peter was wearing the Spider-Man suit he wore when he was out fighting crime, except that he wasn't wearing the hood.

Harry walked over at this moment and asked hesitantly, "God, you mean the legendary God?"

I don't know what's wrong with it, but something just feels off.

Igor turned around, slightly raised his hand, and pinched his fingers: "Oh, I'm just a minor god."

Upon hearing this, Peter and Harry gaped in astonishment, while Wanda, Pietro, and Tony looked on with disdain. Banner and Betty opened their mouths as if to say something, but then closed them again. Of the group, only Quill's expression was somewhat unusual, carrying a hint of detachment.

By this time, the group had entered the palace. Looking up, the entire palace resembled a starry sky, constructed primarily of gold and inlaid with various sparkling gemstones, giving it an overall noble and mysterious appearance.

"I don't know where I came from. The first thing I remember is wandering alone in the void of the universe, feeling utterly alone. Millions of years later, I gradually learned to control the molecules around me. I became more intelligent and stronger. I continued to build, layer upon layer, until I finally built myself into the planet you stand on. But I wanted more. I wanted to find the meaning of life. I thought there must be some life in this universe, life like me. Later, I transformed myself into a human and met your mother on Earth..." Ego turned to Quill, a smile of fond memories on his face.

"So, you mean that this planet belongs to you, that you are this planet? And that you have lived for millions of years?" Peter looked at the planet beneath his feet, his face full of curiosity, and asked.

Peter's incredulity stirred Ego's vanity, and Ego nodded: "Yes, the planet beneath your feet is my true form."

Wow.

For a moment, not only Peter and Harry were somewhat moved, but even Natasha, Banner, Bronsky, Pietro, and others next to them couldn't control their expressions.

The fact that a planet can harbor life, and that it has existed for millions of years, is quite an abstract concept. Human civilization has only existed for a few thousand years; for Ego, those millennia are but a fleeting moment.

That sounds terrifying.

A group of people followed Ego on a tour of all the locations around the palace, and they witnessed the beauty of Ego's Star from every angle, making the trip feel worthwhile.

“Ger, let Mantis take you down to rest. I haven’t seen my son in so many years, I want to talk to him.” No one could refuse Ego’s words. After all, the father and son hadn’t seen each other for so many years, they must have a lot of private things to talk about, and they certainly wouldn’t be so tactless as to interfere between them.

Throughout the entire process, Ger did not reveal anything special about himself, but remained hidden among the crowd, following the Mantis Woman towards the palace's inner chambers.

Once they were out of sight, Peter and Harry started talking non-stop.

"Wow, this is a real god."

"I can hardly believe that life can last for millions of years."

"If Quill's father was a god, does that mean Quill is also a god?"

"But I don't see anything godlike about Quill, he seems more like..."

"...A fool. Yeah, that's right."

Although Peter, Harry, Pietro, and the others only spent a few days with Quill, some people's "excellence" cannot be hidden; they could even sense it after only a short time. Quill's "goofy" nature was no exception; his excellence was simply impossible to conceal.

The group started laughing, one after another, their laughter infecting everyone around them. Even Mantis, sensing the atmosphere, began to force a smile, imitating Peter and Harry. But after a moment, Mantis seemed to remember something, and her expression suddenly turned somewhat somber.

Among the group, Wanda, who was laughing, suddenly raised an eyebrow, glanced at Gel beside her, and then looked at the void to the side. As if she had seen something, she nodded slightly.

The Mantis led everyone to their respective rooms, each with a different style. Peter and Harry were overwhelmed by the choices and insisted on seeing all the rooms before selecting their own.

The others didn't have so many thoughts. They simply picked a room and waited for Igor and Quill to finish their conversation before continuing their tour. After all, they had just come out on a trip with great enthusiasm, so how could they possibly go to sleep now?

When only Peter and Harry remained, the two chatted even more enthusiastically.

"I was thinking, should I have Ger take me to an unclaimed planet someday, so I can become a king of the mountain, directly occupy that planet, and then decorate it the way I want?"

"If you were to decorate, what kind of decoration would you like to make?"

"For me, it would probably be all sorts of flowers and plants, and then I'd build a planetary amusement park with all kinds of rides, and then I'd take Gwen there to play. What about you?"

"I want to transform the entire planet into a futuristic technological hub that belongs solely to me, with all sorts of high-tech features installed. In the future, if there is an interstellar war, I can simply pilot the planet to fight."

"That's a good idea..."

"..."

The two chatted more and more happily until they had seen all the rooms, and Harry chose one. In the end, only Mantis led Peter into the room.
