Chapter 149 The Final Battle (Part 4)

This is a victory for Earth, a victory brought by Gale and all the superheroes.

Looking at the smiling faces of all his friends, Geer smiled happily too, a truly genuine smile.

A moment later, Gamora flew towards Gamora with Thanos in her arms. Gamora saw Thanos rapidly approaching, her eyes filled with complex emotions.

"Gamora, Thanos wants to have one last talk with you." Gale's voice was soft, but it struck Gamora's heart like a cannonball.

Gamora looked at Thanos, her eyes quickly filling with tears—she didn't even know why her eyes were filled with tears at this moment.

Thanos's face lost all other emotions, leaving only a gentle smile. He patted the rock next to him, gesturing for Gamora to sit down, and then slowly sat down himself.

Gamora hesitated for a moment, then walked over and sat down next to Thanos, but her face showed barely suppressed pain and struggle.

Looking at Thanos, she finally couldn't hold back any longer and spoke the resentment that had been hidden in her heart all this time: "I've dreamed of this moment my whole life, thinking about when you would be defeated, when you would die! This has been my motivation to live, the only thing that has kept me going! Finally, this day has come. You've always called your so-called killings mercy. You killed all my loved ones, and now I've finally witnessed your most painful day. This is the universe's best judgment on you!"

In the end, she was laughing through her tears, almost going mad.

Thanos sat beside her, listening quietly without interrupting. Gamora spoke for an unknown amount of time, until she revealed all the deepest secrets she had kept hidden in her heart, before finally stopping.

"Poor child." Thanos slowly opened his hand and patted Gamora's head, just as he often did when he was a child. Gamora's body instantly froze on the spot.

"Do you remember how many years you've been with me? I remember the first time I saw you, you were just a seven-year-old girl, barely taller than my calf. I don't know if it was fate or destiny, but I knew then that I had to adopt you. Later, I watched you grow into the person you are today, and you've never disappointed me. People have asked me before, 'Have I ever truly loved any of you children?' I always thought that since the destruction of Titan, I wouldn't be able to love anyone. But when I think about it carefully, I know that I do love you, my daughter, Gamora." Thanos wore a gentle, faint smile, a smile Gamora often saw, but one that no one else, including Nebula, had ever seen before.

"This should be my last moment, my daughter. I want to hear you call me one last time." Thanos gently stroked Gamora's head with extreme tenderness.

Gamora was stunned for a moment, opening her mouth several times but still unable to utter a sound, only tears falling uncontrollably onto her clothes.

A moment later, Gamora froze, as the hands that had been stroking her head abruptly left. She looked sharply to the side and saw Thanos's body slowly dissipate like a cloud of dust, but in the end, Thanos's face still bore the smile she knew so well.

Gamora stared blankly at the spot where Thanos had been standing. After a moment, she suddenly bent down and burst into tears, sobbing uncontrollably.
