Chapter Seventy Military Tribunal

"What do you mean?" Gel walked to the computer, sat down, and scrolled through the experimental results Tony had recorded over the past few days.

“Generally speaking, the better a person’s physique, the better the effects of the Extremis Serum, and these effects don’t conflict with their previous modifications. Of course, there are also people whose physique isn’t particularly good, but whose modifications have yielded excellent results, like Potts. Her modifications are comparable to Natasha’s.” Tony’s tone revealed a hint of amazement.

Gel had already seen the results of the blood tests: "Natasha and Potts had the best tolerance for the Extremis Serum, followed by Pietro and Peter, then Captain America, then you and Harry, and Gwen had the worst tolerance. So, Natasha and Potts underwent two injections."

“That’s last night’s data. Today I discovered a new situation. Gwen’s constitution isn’t that she’s unsuitable for the Extremis Serum, but rather that she’s unsuitable for some of its components. If we change some of the components of the Extremis Serum, it might change her current condition,” Tony said without looking up. “Furthermore, while Natasha and Potts have a high tolerance, multiple injections could lead to unknown consequences, so we need to conduct rigorous clinical trials before we can continue to give them injections. Of course, Potts has completely refused.”

As Tony's lover, Potts has always endured the various negative effects brought about by Tony becoming Iron Man, so she has no good feelings about becoming a superhuman and instead wants to quickly return to being an ordinary person.

"And what about you, Tony? What do you think?" Gel's tone suddenly turned serious.

Tony looked up at Gel with a hint of helplessness: "Don't tell me you came here today just like everyone else, saying the same old comforting things. I really don't need that, okay?"

Tony glanced at Gel and then continued to focus his gaze on the experimental equipment, seemingly completely unconcerned about recent events.

Gervis didn't respond to Tony's question, but instead looked up at the center of the lab: "Jarvis, how long has it been since Tony slept?"

"I haven't slept for 83 hours." Jarvis's mechanical voice even carried a hint of helplessness.

Tony blinked his bloodshot eyes and said helplessly, "Jarvis, you're leaking my privacy. Be careful, or I'll dismantle you like I dismantle Little Dumb."

“But Mr. Gerr has the authority to access this information, sir,” Jarvis replied immediately.

To prevent Tony from forgetting the time while doing experiments, Potts "semi-forced" Tony to give Gel this authority so that Gel could remind Tony to go back to sleep on time.

Gel patted the chair next to him and said to Tony, "So, do you want me to use mind magic to force you to sleep for a while, and then we'll talk, or do you obediently sit down here and we'll talk right away?"

Gel's expression was extremely serious, so Tony had no choice but to put down the glass bottle in his hand and sit down.

He knew that Ger was not joking; if he didn't cooperate, Ger would definitely find a way to get him to come over. If it were anyone else, he could just tell them to get lost, but after more than a year of getting to know Ger, he couldn't do that to Ger, and of course, he knew he couldn't.

"Pots sent you here?" Tony asked, sitting in his chair and looking at Gel.

Gel nodded. In the past few days, the psychologist and Banner had both failed to help, so Potts called Gel for help in the morning. This is why Gel did not take a break during the break, but came to see Tony instead.

After a pause, Gerr said, "What are your plans for the military court a week from now?"

Tony stared blankly ahead, his expression filled with pain as if he had thought of something: "On the first day I woke up, Potts, Rogers, Natasha, and I saw many videos of the battle. I never imagined that the combat mechs I created would one day become the blades used to slaughter innocent people."

He could console himself that he had no choice but to accept that he hadn't been able to save some people or had accidentally injured others during the battle. But those airmen were killed by his own hands while he was controlling the Iron Man suit. He had also used Jarvis to find out about each person's upbringing and family members. He dared not look at it, yet he forced himself to continue reading.

Even though he was under Hydra's control at the time, it brought him no comfort whatsoever.

“So, I plan to follow their arrangements. Perhaps, that hidden sea prison is my final destination.” Tony sat there, his face unusually haggard from not sleeping for days. This was a disruption of his physiological regulatory mechanisms, an effect that even his body, modified by the Extremis Serum, could not completely eliminate.

“Hydra…” Ger sighed inwardly, trying to offer some comfort.

Tony immediately turned to Gel, interrupting him: "Gel, it's no use. Do you know how many therapy sessions Potts has had these past few days? Yet she still can't sleep every night. If it weren't for Wanda's mind-control hypnosis, she'd probably be like me right now. Rogers and Natasha are the same. Every time I close my eyes, all I see are those battle scenes from the videos."

The two were so close that Gel could clearly see the barely suppressed pain in Tony's eyes.

Rogers' memories are still stuck at the moment before he was frozen, but when he awoke again, he had become an accomplice of Hydra, killing S.H.I.E.L.D. agents. Natasha joined S.H.I.E.L.D., believing she could atone for her sins. She risked her life time and time again to repay the crimes she had committed, but this time, among those she killed were agents she knew.
