Chapter 77 "Wait a little longer, Tseung Kwan..."
A teenager wearing short black pants was watering the flowerbed in front of the wooden house. The flowerbed wasn't big, but he worked quickly and efficiently, and soon every flower was well-watered.
According to his usual habits, he should be busy with other things at this time, such as chopping wood, gathering herbs, etc. There are always trivial matters in life that require his attention.
However, the next second, after washing his hands, the boy walked towards the small wooden house next to him.
The door wasn't locked, so he pushed it open and went in, then quickly closed it again, preventing the outside wind from getting in with him.
Matching the exterior of the wooden house, the interior is also very simple, yet it meets all the needs, and it must be said that it is very full of life.
Yoriichi's gaze fell on the soft bed spread in the center of the floor, where someone was still asleep.
The beautiful girl lay on her side, her long, black hair piled up in a slightly frizzy mess. Her brows were slightly furrowed, and a thin layer of sweat beaded on her forehead, disrupting the overall peaceful atmosphere.
Despite the fact that the indoor and outdoor temperatures were not low, she felt very cold and wrapped herself in the blanket, curling up into a ball.
It's completely different from how energetic it was before.
Yoriichi Tsugikuni knelt on one knee in front of the bed. He slightly parted the blanket to make it easier for the girl to breathe, and then gently touched her forehead with the back of his hand.
After a careful comparison, Yoriichi Tsugikuni realized that the hype had indeed subsided, and he quietly breathed a sigh of relief.
Actually, Azhi wasn't asleep; she was just too lazy to move. After noticing the boy's series of movements, her eyelashes fluttered, but she still didn't open her eyes.
It's obvious I'm not feeling very comfortable yet.
Yoriichi pursed his lips, his lowered eyes gentle, and asked softly, "Are you still feeling unwell?"
A moment later, a girl's listless voice came from below.
Ah Zhi clung to the edge of the blanket, revealing her entire little head, and slowly mumbled, "Feeling better."
It's still painful.
In fact, Azhi had been feeling a little unwell for the past few days.
At first, I had a dull ache in my lower abdomen. It wasn't the severe pain of an upset stomach, but rather a torturous, persistent pain that felt just right on the edge of being bearable.
Immediately afterwards, she inexplicably developed a low-grade fever.
At first, Aori herself didn't even notice, but Yoriichi Tsugikuni noticed that she seemed a little drowsy and her complexion wasn't good.
Although Aori is delicate, she is not that delicate. In addition, Yoriichi Tsugikuni takes good care of her in every way. Over the years, she has hardly ever been sick.
This rare opportunity felt incredibly agonizing to her.
Yoriichi could tell that Ori was trying to reassure him that everything was alright, but to him, the girl's pale cheeks and lips were utterly unconvincing.
"I can't wait any longer," Yoriichi Tsugikuni thought to himself.
"We have to get down the mountain!"
The boy frowned, his tone unusually brooking no argument, and made his decision directly without asking A-Zhi's opinion. In fact, he had initially wanted to take A-Zhi down the mountain to seek medical treatment, but the girl had refused.
Azhi wasn't avoiding medical help; rather, when she first felt unwell, she consulted 000 and learned from it that there was nothing wrong with her body.
Strangely, she didn't get the reason for her illness from 000, and it kept mumbling vague things like "it's a normal physiological phenomenon."
Ah Zhi's impression was still that it wasn't easy to go down the mountain, which is why she didn't agree to seek medical help.
When she first came here, she was young and only felt that the mountains were so high and the roads were so long.
Although Yoriichi Tsugikuni carried her most of the time, the few times she walked on her own were still difficult and dangerous for her.
Since she doesn't have any major problems, there's no need for her to go down.
Aori gritted her teeth, wanting to struggle a little more, but before she could speak, Yoriichi Tsugikuni had already gently lifted her off the bed and then wrapped her in a thin blanket.
Every movement was incredibly thoughtful and smooth, without the slightest pause, which must have happened many times before and become a habit ingrained in their very being.
Anyway, 000 has gotten used to it. It thinks that Azhi is the best host, able to make the mission target willingly treat her this way, even though the mission progress is relatively slow.
However, there's not a big problem; there's still a good chance.
Aori blinked innocently, and without much insistence, obediently wrapped her arms around Yoriichi's neck, resting her forehead against his chest.
Before anyone knew it, the boy had grown very tall, and his back and arms had become much stronger. When he held Azhi, it was as if he were holding a weightless object, or even easier.
Sometimes Azhi would complain to 000 that even though they were eating the same food, and sometimes she even ate better, the gap between them was getting bigger and bigger.
What surprised Azhi the most was that when she was held and looked down, the stone path that had been closest to the mountain that day had been smoothed out and looked like a work of art, no longer as rugged and terrifying as it had been.
Azhi stared blankly. She knew that the boy had been doing this kind of thing all along, and she had come with him before, but Yoriichi wouldn't let her come when it was hot or cold.
In the end, apart from the few times she had seen it at the beginning, she knew nothing about the progress of the boy's road construction.
"You're amazing."
Azhi opened her eyes wide in amazement, forgetting her physical discomfort, and wanted to get down and walk on her own.
Normally, Yoriichi Tsugikuni wouldn't have stopped her, but the mountain was shady, and considering Aori's unexplained illness, he patted her head reassuringly and quickened his pace.
So the battle at Azhiyan came to a halt.
********
Despite saying she wouldn't shy away from medical treatment, Azhi was actually a little apprehensive when she saw the doctor.
She and Yoriichi lived on the mountain year-round and were mostly self-sufficient, but sometimes they still needed to exchange for or buy things that they couldn't make.
Azhi didn't go down the mountain often because before that, they took a much longer but relatively safer route, and bringing her along would slow them down.
So, one day when Yoriichi went down the mountain alone, he encountered a doctor who had accidentally fallen and injured his leg while gathering herbs. He rescued the doctor from the ravine and took him home, which took him longer than before.
That day, Aori was extremely worried, fearing that something might have happened to the boy. She held back her tears until she saw Yoriichi Tsugikuni return amidst 000's comforting words.
It was because of this incident that Yoriichi met this very famous doctor in the area, and he would occasionally help him collect some herbs. Over time, their relationship became quite good.
After hearing the girl's description, the doctor had a pretty good idea of what the problem was. He pondered for a moment and then decided to send away Yoriichi Tsugikuni, who was listening more attentively than the patient herself.
"Could you help me unload the new medicinal herbs that were delivered to the backyard?" The doctor smiled in a way that was hard to refuse, and seeing Yoriichi's worry, he added, "She's not sick, don't worry."
He has a face that makes people feel relaxed; he's always smiling, and even the wrinkles on his cheeks add to his gentleness.
He regarded Aori as Yoriichi's younger sister, but it's better to keep such private matters separate. It's also a pity that this brother and sister have no elder to guide them.
Even so, Yoriichi Tsugikuni was still a little uneasy. It was rare for him to hesitate like this, but after seeing the gentle look in the doctor's eyes that resembled his mother's, he silently walked towards the backyard.
Azhi became even more nervous. She took a deep breath and waited for the doctor to tell her the cause of her problem.
He had just finished laying the groundwork and was about to get to the point when the half-closed door was suddenly kicked open, landing on the ground with a deafening thud.
Azhi shuddered. She saw the doctor's expression change instantly, and he lowered his voice and cursed viciously, "These damned robbers!"
He reacted much faster than A-Zhi. Before the "robber" he was talking about walked in, he grabbed the thin blanket that A-Zhi had been wrapped in and covered her with it while she was sitting next to him.
Therefore, even if someone notices her, Azhi's appearance is just that of a seriously ill patient seeking medical treatment. If she doesn't move, it's as if she has no breath, and no one will take the initiative to uncover her body to check.
The sound of hurried footsteps drew closer, clearly indicating that there was more than one person. Things had been quite unsettled lately, leading to an increase in the number of roaming robbers and bandits.
Those who come to the doctor are either after money or to have their lives saved; the group that came today is for the latter.
Seemingly being chased, the bandits were in a panic, their faces filled with unconcealed fear. The leader carried a man whose fate was unknown on his back; the man had been shot in the back, and blood was flowing down his fingers like a stream.
At a glance, the doctor knew the man was beyond saving. However, with a knife to his neck, he could only feign difficulty and begin to treat him.
Through the thin blanket, Azhi smelled a strong stench of blood. In an instant, her mind began to buzz and her heart began to pound violently.
She realized that she and the doctor were in a dangerous situation, and knew that if she showed herself rashly, it would only make things worse. It seemed that her only hope was that Yoriichi would finish his work and come back.
But there was more than one robber. Although she didn't see him, it wasn't hard to guess how vicious they were from the various noises she heard.
Tears instantly welled up in her eyes. Azhi was both nervous and panicked; she felt that in the end, all three of them might not survive, and their only hope lay with 000: [What should we do? Think of something quickly!]
000 often feels that Yoriichi Tsugikuni must have a very peculiar image in Ori's mind. Shouldn't it be this gang of robbers that she should be worried about?
That's a bit of an exaggeration, because Yoriichi Tsugikuni wouldn't take anyone's life.
But seeing the girl's tearful face, it comforted her, saying, "Wait a little longer, Tsugukuni..."
Because the backyard was a bit far, 000 wanted to say that Yoriichi Tsugikuni would be there soon, but thankfully she was interrupted before she could say his full name.
Because it was proven wrong.
With the sound of a knife being drawn, the sharp blade arrived silently, reaping the lives of the robbers at a speed imperceptible to ordinary people.
Within a few breaths, everyone standing except the visitors and the doctor collapsed to the ground.
The young swordsman with deep red hair slightly raised his arm, shaking off the remaining bloodstains on his blade.
