Metropolis Lostbelt (12) Dawn is Coming...? ...

The journey back to Atlantis went smoothly. Captain Nemo, whose body had been tense the whole way, relaxed slightly, but the feeling of confusion still weighed on her mind.

She had expected to be hunted down like she had in the past after seeing Kirshtalia, but what she expected did not happen. The sky and the sea indicated that it was a clear day suitable for sailing.

"Captain, shall we go and see Atlantis?" Sion adjusted his glasses, his alchemist-like eyes fixed on the slender figure ahead.

She was one of the few people still in the control room. The others either took the Shadow Border to the Rebel base to try and bring back the Superman from the parallel universe, or stayed on the Storm Border to take a break.

"...No need. I will take care of the ship's safety," Captain Nemo said. "Call me if you need anything. We have plenty of torpedoes prepared this time."

She lowered her head, gazing down at the ocean, as if looking at her companions who had already dived into the deep sea. "Do you think their operation will go smoothly?"

Whether in pan-human history or in the Lostbelts, the ocean is always blue and free. It embraces both the people of the past and humanity now driven to desperation.

I really don't want anyone to disturb this peaceful place, especially those bastards who invade and bully the weak.

"Worried about a strange Kirshtalia Wodim? He might just surprise us."

The captain snorted and was about to sneak off to the galley while the sailors weren't looking when he suddenly saw Sion, who hadn't left yet, smile and, as if he had been prepared, take out a small, pre-packaged box.

"...Huh?"

"We've officially arrived in port now. I went to the kitchen and got you some pudding, the second to last one. Let me brag a little, I timed it perfectly!"

The last dessert in the kitchen was snatched away by Fujimaru Ritsuka just in time. Habitually ignoring the envious and jealous glances behind her, she walked down the corridor of Chaldea.

Sunlight streamed through the glass windows into the white corridor, casting a soft golden glow on the girl's hair, making her steps lighter and more cheerful.

She passed her room and continued walking until she saw a dashing figure with his hands in his pockets at the end of the road. "Debit, so you've been here!"

The blond youth turned around, his cold, deep purple eyes as ethereal and profound as the universe, reflecting the half-body of Fujimaru Ritsuka without any emotion.

“You came to me to ask about Wodym.”

It is a declarative sentence.

Fujimaru Ritsuka smiled and didn't deny it. She handed over half of a pudding, cut in half, "Try it, the food at Chaldea is pretty good now."

She wasn't there to interrogate him; a relaxed, afternoon tea atmosphere was more appropriate. Seeing Debit take the pudding, she said, "Because it's your habit."

“If we can’t kill the enemy now, then the minimum necessary measures are to confirm their combat strength.” She winked slyly. “Am I right?”

The person who came alone to assess Chaldea's strength back then has no reason not to do the same thing in this Lostbelt.

“Let me correct something first.” Debit’s lips curled into a smile, but his tone remained unusually calm. “The current pseudo-Servant, Kilshtalia Wodem, is not the captain of Group A, Kilshtalia Wodem.”

Sure enough, this was the truth she discovered as soon as they met.

Seeing the unwavering look in Fujimaru Ritsuka's eyes, Debit understood. "That's right, you know this better than I do. That guy was sticking to his will until his very last breath."

"Even though he couldn't realize the ideal he pursued, he gave hope to Chaldea. Even if there is regret, there is no remorse."

"From this perspective, Wodym has completely ended his life, dying as a human being. So why is this person appearing now…?"

Debit paused for a moment. In fact, Chaldea should not have come into contact with the beings of the other world. After they finished their Lostbelt expedition, they should have returned to Antarctica.

Even if the Lostbelt King of this world is spying on parallel worlds, a branch like Pan-Human History, which is vastly different from the current world, is not his first choice.

In short, the two worlds are like two separate dimensions. All these anomalies indicate one thing: one of them must be breaking down this barrier.

Have you noticed anything unusual in New Chaldea lately?

There are so many! She's been working non-stop ever since the explosion in the control room! And the Servants involved are all mysteriously hiding something!

Fujimaru Ritsuka thought bitterly that her vacation was ruined... and so on.

“The Holy Grail has been deciphered.” Fujimaru Ritsuka recalled Shakespeare’s words and repeated, “When several Servants wanted to create a singularity.”

“…I understand. Your servants are no better.” Debit shook his head and said meaningfully, “The phenomenon of Wodem is just an isolated case.”

Before he could turn and leave without hesitation after confirming, Fujimaru Ritsuka's clear voice came, "You came to this Lostbelt because of him?"

"No, I was just passing by."

"Also, the desserts were good, thank you."

"Xiao Ba, how is the situation now?"

Dick, with his legs crossed in mid-air, looked down as Barbara skillfully helped the rebel members shake off the tracking machines, circle around to a side path, and meet with the receiving members.

"Damn it! Why is this darn machine chasing me for three whole blocks! I've never been this fast back when I was still a soldier!"

The man's panting, almost gasping voice came through the earpiece. Before Barbara could reply, her partner, who was there to meet her, elbowed her on the shoulder with a "thud" and burst into laughter.

"God, what are you talking about, you coward? In which of the boss's activities did you not hide behind me? Your muscular limbs are as strong as paper!"

"Hey! You're asking for it!"

Barbara shook her head at their noise, but her eyes shone with an irrepressible smile. She hadn't smiled as brightly as she did today since Batman was arrested.

"Hey, actually, I still don't feel like it's real." The man who had been chased three times felt his heart pounding, a mix of lingering excitement and belated fear welling up inside him.

"Did we really just get Batman back from those guys and save Gotham like that?"

"Hey kid, what's wrong? You're disappointed Gotham didn't explode?" His companion teased with a laugh, shoving him into the temporary accommodation behind him and taking him to a non-existent floor.

The once quiet hotel was now incredibly noisy, with the sounds of glasses clattering on tables echoing everywhere. Everyone, regardless of their past status or position, was in complete chaos.

"Oh, it's that cowardly runaway back!"

"Hahahaha, we can't say that now! This guy has found the most hidden bomb in all of Gotham!"

"Come on, cheers!"

The owner, who had taken in the rebels, had been given several drinks by this group, his face flushed. But he still managed to stay conscious for a moment before glancing at the last two to arrive, and spoke into his earpiece:

"Miss Oracle, are these the last two people?"

“Yes, the Gotham Defense Plan is temporarily on hold.” Barbara’s tone was light, with a hint of relief at the end. “Please inform everyone present.”

"Batman has successfully left Gotham, and all the bombs buried underground in Gotham have been destroyed! Everyone, our efforts have not been in vain!"

The moment the boss finished repeating those words, a deafening roar shook the heavens. Ignoring the ringing in his ears, he looked up at all the rebels, each one as excited as if they could take on Superman one-on-one.

The noisy chatter of the rebels was transmitted through the surveillance cameras to Barbara and Dick, who remained steadfastly at their observation posts.

"God bless me, my mom will be so proud of me, I actually...did it!"

"Tsk, those guys don't seem to be omnipotent after all. We ordinary people are no worse than them."

"Their damn machines are incredibly stupid; our masters here are far superior!"

The person who said this looked at the short-haired woman sitting next to the boss with admiration. As one of the biggest contributors to this operation, she had already drunk several cups of alcohol, but her eyes were still as clear as water.

Dick watched the monitor, then suddenly floated to shoulder level with Barbara, pointing incredulously at the boss, "Isn't this the same guy who owned that shady shop? I don't remember him joining the resistance before!"

"Hey, you only just recognized him?" Barbara chuckled as she looked at Dick's aggrieved expression, patting him on the shoulder through the air. "He only joined the resistance a few days ago, and the reason... well, he fell in love at first sight with our genius and beautiful technician, Jenny."

"—It wasn't love at first sight," the boss whispered in his earpiece, his shy voice making Dick tremble. "It was a reunion after a long separation."

Coincidentally, the rebel gossips also set their sights on this newly formed couple. Jenny put her arm around her boss's shoulder and said with a smile, "It's a long-awaited reunion. We grew up together and were sponsored by Wayne together."

“But he was much more focused on knowledge than I was, so I went back to Gotham to make money at Wayne Enterprises, while he went to study space.”

They never expected to meet again, and they never expected that the black shop owner whom the oracle had asked them to contact would turn out to be their once spirited class monitor.

Fortunately, they were able to meet again and do something together for human civilization.

Dick clicked his tongue in amazement and suddenly understood why he had suddenly stopped ripping people off and let everyone stay for free. It turned out that he was also looking for someone who could save Batman, that is, Bruce Wayne.

Good causes lead to good results.

"Little Ba, you should go and get some rest too. You've been staring at the computer monitors non-stop for days!" Seeing that the situation had stabilized, Dick immediately tried to urge the overworked redhead to rest.

Barbara didn't try to be brave; even with coffee coursing through her veins, she couldn't stay awake for another hour. Obediently handing the monitoring to Dick, she pushed back her chair. "Then it's up to you now, I..."

"Boom—!"

A loud bang interrupted Barbara's voice. She lunged at the monitor, which flickered twice before going dark.

"No! Barbara, quickly check the city's surveillance footage!"

"I know...I know!"
