Tokyo Singularity (8) - No Lower Limit Failure
"Hahahaha! That's all you've got! You can't even pierce through my shamelessness!"
On the training ground, which was completely unrecognizable, the surrounding scenery was distorted and blurred due to the excessive temperature. Gojo Satoru, however, emerged unscathed from the center of the deep purple flames, defiantly raising his chin.
The young woman opposite her wore black armor, her long, silver hair flying wildly in the flames. She held a sword in one hand and a flag in the other, flames burning at the tip of the flag.
Watching Gojo Satoru walk out of the fire, she merely chuckled coldly, then gripped the flagpole and slammed it towards the ground. "Is that so? Then try this move!"
"Alter!"
Suddenly, a clear voice pierced through the scorching sea of fire.
Jeanne Alter's flag-waving motion suddenly stopped, and she instead used her sword to block Gojo Satoru's attack, assuming a defensive stance. Gojo Satoru turned his head to look in the direction from which the sound came; two blurry figures were running towards them.
Did Fujimaru Ritsuka discover the fight and come to break it up?
This is really a headache; he hasn't had enough fun yet. The person in front of him is almost unharmed after several of his "Cang" attacks. Of course, her attacks also couldn't harm him.
He hadn't encountered such a fresh opponent in a long time.
But the young man did not use his full strength in his attack. No matter how much he provoked her, she seemed to have an insurmountable bottom line.
But now, it seems he knows.
"Alter! Vital points disabled! Noble Phantasm disabled! Sparring battle, defeat them!"
Gojo Satoru was stunned: "..." It's going to continue?! He's not planning to use his full strength?
Interesting. This is the first time he has ever heard that one cannot go all out when fighting the Six-Eyed One. The Chaldea people are underestimating him too much!
Xia Youjie also turned his head sharply, staring at Fujimaru Ritsuka in disbelief. He hadn't expected her to not only fail to mediate but also add fuel to the fire. Sensing his gaze, Fujimaru Ritsuka gave him a reassuring gesture.
This is nothing yet, Alter is still quite restrained.
Xia Youjie failed to understand Fujimaru Ritsuka's relaxation and looked back at the battlefield with a mixture of surprise and uncertainty. For a moment, he even thought that Gojo Satoru would lose, but he quickly dismissed the pessimistic thoughts. How could that be? That's Satoru, after all.
As Fujimaru Ritsuka's words pierced through the flames, a scorching, oppressive heat instantly swept across the entire playground, causing the flames to surge higher. Natsumi Yuuki had no choice but to summon a cursed spirit to shield him and Ieiri Shoko.
But Fujimaru Ritsuka stood firm, refusing to budge. The towering flames illuminated her, revealing a face far more dazzling than the flames themselves.
Almost simultaneously, Gojo Satoru suddenly felt a strong sense of crisis. His Six Eyes activated frantically, and he saw the young man raise a wild, arrogant smile, his energy flow increasing to another level!
Wait, she actually held back so much?!
"The Trident of Desperate Strike!"
Mystic Code: Bright Summer grants a single ally invincibility piercing status.
A bright blue light surged towards Jeanne Alter. Feeling the magic, she couldn't help but laugh, raising her flag to block Gojo Satoru's initial attack.
A crimson flame streaked across the sky, obscuring his vision. Then, she reversed her grip, using the sword like a spear, and thrust it straight down into Gojo Satoru's shoulder.
Red blood dripped down the blade, drop by drop, onto the ground.
Gojo Satoru slightly widened his eyes, and for a moment the slender blade of his sword seemed to overlap with the Tenseihoko sword, and memories of last summer involuntarily flooded his mind.
How could this be... the "No Limits" skill failed?! Gojo Satoru immediately realized something was wrong. Ignoring the wound on his shoulder, he swung his sword back and hurled it at the silver-haired youth, using that moment to quickly retreat.
Xia Youjie, who was watching the battle, was stunned for a moment. He originally thought that after Da Vinci's influence, he wouldn't be easily surprised by anything that happened at Chaldea...
Yeah, right.
That's limitless. The last person to break the limit was the former number one curse assassin, Fu Heishen. He did that with the Heavenly Reversal Blade in his hand.
Chaldea's true nature—
"What do you think of this strength, Natsume?" Ieiri Shoko asked.
"...Let's see what Wu plans to do next. I trust him."
Even after being struck by a slash, Jeanne d'Arc Alter remained unfazed, her sword hilt remaining perfectly still. Gojo Satoru, unable to advance or retreat, could only watch helplessly as a purplish-blue flame suddenly erupted from the sword's tip, his blood evaporating in mid-air.
The silver-haired youth laughed as he gripped the flagpole, the flag tip plunging into the ground. "Hahahaha!"
"Give it to me, burn it all away!"
Bright red, fiery flames, like a form of punishment, ignited and obscured the figures of the two.
“…Wise!!” Xia Youjie exclaimed in disbelief.
"Alright, that's enough!" Fujimaru Ritsuka said calmly.
Hearing this, Gojo Satoru maintained his reversal spell, unwilling to stop. On the contrary, Jeanne Alter, who had the upper hand, clicked her tongue and drew her longsword without hesitation.
The blazing flames gradually died down as she approached Fujimaru Ritsuka, revealing Gojo Satoru, half of his body scorched, and Natsuyu Suguru and Ieiri Shoko rushing forward to check on him.
"You bastard, you're too slow." Jeanne Alter disarmed herself, dressed in casual clothes, and patted Fujimaru Ritsuka's shoulders, complaining irritably.
"Sorry, Alter, I'll come to see you right away next time!" Fujimaru Ritsuka smiled and winked, then stood on tiptoe and patted her head. "I'm so glad you could be the support Servant this time."
"Also, you played really well just now!"
"...Hmph. Don't you even know who I am?"
Such terrifying strength, yet so easy to please.
Shoko Ieiri raised an eyebrow, placing one hand on the unwilling Satoru Gojo and casting a reversal spell, while her eyes unconsciously glanced towards Ritsuka Fujimaru.
The young man was completely different when he violently beat Gojo; he acted like a kitten waiting to be petted when facing Fujimaru Ritsuka, which was extremely deceptive.
This seemingly ordinary orange-haired girl is definitely weaker than that Alter, but she can precisely control her hair and make her obey orders.
This wouldn't have been possible without Alter's trust and affection. So, how did a young person of similar age win the respect and love of these legendary figures?
“If I were alone, I couldn’t beat her after her limitless power was broken,” Gojo Satoru suddenly said.
"Huh?!" Ieiri Shoko exclaimed in surprise. "That strong? You admit it?"
"What's there to be ashamed of? Strength is strength. Besides me, there's also Jie!" Gojo Satoru, supported by Natsume Jie, limped toward Ritsuka and the others. "Jie and I will definitely not lose together."
"Ms. Night Moth will cry if she sees the playground." Xia Youjie did not answer directly, but subtly rejected Gojo Satoru's invitation to fight again with a single sentence.
Seeing the three members of the high school group walking in a mountain-shaped formation, Fujimaru Ritsuka looked up.
Gojo Satoru's charred skin was completely repaired by the Reversal Curse, but his uniform shirt was burned into shreds, hanging loosely on his body and revealing his taut muscle lines. Paired with his perfect face, it had a rather artistic feel.
With such an alluring face, she disregarded Jeanne Alter's raised silver sword and bent down to get close to Fujimaru Ritsuka.
Their breaths mingled as Gojo Satoru stared with intense excitement at the slender, not-so-tall girl. "How did you manage to make her break my bottom line?"
"Your spells?"
Their golden and blue eyes met, and Fujimaru Ritsuka clearly saw the fighting spirit emanating from Gojo Satoru's blue eyes and the oppressive aura emanating from him. If it weren't for Natsume's seemingly supporting but actually restraining behavior, he would have definitely fought another battle without hesitation.
"A little help with the props." Thanks to Leonardo da Vinci for the source code. Despite the terrifying aura, Fujimaru Ritsuka stood tall. Holding Jeanne d'Arc Alter's hand, she looked calmly and indifferently at the Six-Eyed Goddess.
"Mr. Gojo and the other two, are you satisfied with the strength of Chaldea that you have witnessed?"
There was no obsession with his face, no overwhelming emotional outburst; it was as if he were no different from any other passerby.
Gojo Satoru took a step back and straightened up. He stroked his chin, and if he weren't so confident in himself, he would have doubted whether he had lost his charm. If it wasn't his problem, then it could only be that Fujimaru Ritsuka was used to it.
Chaldea is truly remarkable.
"You guys are strong, but Jie and I aren't weak either." Gojo Satoru grabbed Xia Youjie's neck and, under Xia Youjie's pained and murderous gaze, confidently declared, "Let's have another match, two against two! I won't lose!"
"...Satoru, let me go!" Xia Youjie raised his hand and slapped away Gojo Satoru's paw, ignoring his shouts for another round, and turned to Fujimaru Ritsuka and said, "Ritsuka, you are very perceptive."
From discerning their intention to test their strength through their actions, to observing the fight and providing timely assistance to their companions—neither of these can be done without sufficient experience.
Even if she can't be considered a strong person, she is an indispensable commander and should not be underestimated. They had underestimated her and didn't take Chaldea seriously enough before.
“You are respectable companions,” Xia Youjie said. “The Tokyo school council fully supports Chaldea’s activities.”
If Fujimaru Ritsuka knew what Natsumi was thinking, she would definitely say, "Save the world a few more times and you'll know that the tradition of fighting before becoming teammates is late but inevitable."
But now she simply smiled and accepted the compliment, secretly marveling at how fighting really did increase trust levels. She waved her hand, "Then Alter and I will go gather intelligence too, and afterwards..."
Suddenly, the sound of hurried footsteps from the assistant director interrupted Fujimaru Ritsuka's farewell. He ran over breathlessly, staring in astonishment at the ruins before him.
Standing amidst the ruins, his lips trembled as he tried to say something, but he saw Gojo Satoru's heavenly eyes slowly move towards him.
So the assistant supervisor trembled slightly, pretended not to have seen anything, and bowed respectfully to hand over the document.
"Mr. Gojo, all your and Mr. Natsuyu's missions for today are canceled. The General Administration requests that you investigate this incident immediately."
Xia Youjie suddenly turned his head: "?"
Gojo Satoru was stunned: "Did I hear that right? All canceled?"
"Yes! And as long as no results are found in the investigation, your mission will be cancelled for that day."
Hearing this, Xia Youjie couldn't help but interrupt, saying, "Wait. No one can completely take over the tasks from me and Wu. What about those vulnerable people waiting to be rescued?"
"...I'm sorry." The assistant supervisor wiped the cold sweat from his brow with his sleeve and stammered under Xia Youjie's cold gaze. He didn't really understand his superiors' thinking either, but what could he do when they wielded so much power?
Therefore, he could only emphasize again: "This is an order."
Gojo Satoru indifferently accepted the documents, his face showing only disgust for the old men in the directorate. "What does it matter, Jai? The world isn't going to explode. Just treat it as a vacation."
"Let me see what kind of trouble these ill-intentioned old men are up to this time."
He opened the file—
