Chapter 182: Field Trip 7
The four of Qing Yanrou and the other four plus the four boys, a total of eight people, started walking towards the mountain when Liu Yali said to set off.
The mountain is surrounded by houses, and there is only a narrow cement road leading to the foot of the mountain.
They picked up their schoolbags and walked there.
"Lulu, your bag is so bulging, what's in it?"
Li Manxiang asked curiously and touched her bulging backpack.
Because of her touch, there was a 'crunching' sound inside.
"Well, we just had some breakfast. I was afraid we'd get hungry on the mountain, so I packed some snacks."
"As expected of you, you are so thoughtful!"
Li Manxiang and Yi Cong'an couldn't help but give her a thumbs up when they heard it.
"This thing of yours might actually come in handy later."
Qing Yanrou walked behind them and couldn't help but speak as she looked at her bag.
"Ah? Rourou, this won't happen, this won't happen—"
Because there were four other boys present, it was not convenient for them to ask her directly and they could only exchange glances nervously.
"It's fine."
Only when they heard her say that everything was fine did they breathe a sigh of relief.
"Classmate Han Nianlu, what are you talking about?"
The boy walking in front of them couldn't help but turn around and ask her.
"Nothing, nothing, hurry up and go, come back soon."
Seeing that she didn't say anything, the boy didn't care and continued walking forward.
"What do you do?"
Just as the eight of them were about to go up the winding path, a man suddenly came out of a small house nearby.
He had a scruffy beard, was shirtless, and his eyes were constantly sending out unfriendly signals.
"Uncle, it's like this. We are students from the Journalism Department of B University in Beijing. We just came here to collect folk songs and want to go to this mountain to take a look—"
"Let's go, there's nothing to see on this mountain. Let's go back to where we came from."
Before the boy could finish speaking, the man interrupted him impatiently and urged them to leave quickly.
"No, uncle, we have already communicated with the person in charge of the scenic area, and he agreed to let us go up."
They don’t understand, isn’t this just an ordinary mountain?
Why is there someone guarding here and not letting them go up?
"She allowed you to go up?"
The man asked doubtfully after the boy finished speaking, and then, without waiting for his answer, he turned slightly and looked in the direction they had just come from.
After a long while, he said quietly, "Then you can go up."
I hope you don't regret it.
The man did not say the rest of this sentence. He stopped trying to stop them and turned back to his small house.
"Why does it feel weird?" The boy who just talked to Han Nianlu couldn't help but mutter.
"Okay, this is a minority area. They might have their own customs and taboos. Let's see if we can find out something later. It might be very valuable."
Another boy said this as he walked upstairs with the equipment.
After hearing what he said, the others didn't think much about it, but instead became very interested in this potentially valuable clue.
"You see, although tourists are not allowed to go up this mountain, the road leading up to it has been paved with cement. This proves that local residents still go up there frequently. Otherwise, they wouldn't have gone to such great lengths to build this road."
As expected of a journalism student, the interest in that boy's tone successfully aroused the interest of others, and they all speculated what was on the mountain.
"Rou Rou, why do I feel uneasy when I hear this?"
Yi Cong'an felt sick after listening to the four boys in front of him making wild guesses.
She now remembered the brief sleep paralysis she had experienced last night and Qing Yanrou's words this morning.
After she said this, Han Nianlu and Li Manxiang also remembered it and looked at Qing Yanrou pitifully.
"Take it, it's okay as long as I'm here."
In order to make them feel at ease, Qing Yanrou took out three talismans from her bag and handed them to them.
"What are you talking about? Is the bag heavy? Do you need our help?"
When a few boys turned around and found that the others were a little far away, they asked.
"Tsk, these girls are just weak. They don't carry much and they walk slowly. Leave them alone. Let's go first."
"That's right, let's finish early and go down the mountain to have lunch."
The boy who just spoke to Han Nianlu was called Liang Yong. Now he heard the other three roommates complaining and felt a little embarrassed.
"We're all together after all. Why don't you three go up first, and I'll help them get some things."
"Okay, it's up to you, but when the time comes to sign, your name will have to be put at the end like theirs." One of the boys looked at him and said in a deep voice.
Liang Yong didn't expect him to say that, but he didn't care about that. He just glanced at him and said indifferently, "Okay."
His tone was obviously much colder than before, and the other three also heard it. The other two pulled the man who was talking to Liang Yong, signaling him not to make things so awkward.
The man withdrew his hand, ignored them, looked at Liang Yong deeply and said:
"This is your own choice. If you want to be a warm man, you will inevitably lose something."
After saying that, the man picked up the equipment from the ground, turned around and continued walking up the mountain.
The other two looked at Liang Yong, and finally followed the man up the mountain with their equipment.
"Hey, why did they leave first?"
Looking at Liang Yong who ran down to pick them up, Li Manxiang asked him in confusion.
"Oh, they said to go up and take pictures first. Let me help you. Give me what you have in your hands."
"How can I feel good about that?"
Although Li Manxiang said she was sorry, she still handed over the bag honestly.
Liang Yong suppressed his smile and took the slightly heavy bag from her hand. Their hands accidentally touched when they handed it over.
His ears immediately turned red, but Li Manxiang smiled and didn't notice anything at all.
The other three exchanged glances, and there was a glimmer of opportunity to watch the show in each of their eyes.
"Give me all your things."
Liang Yong's ears flushed, he cleared his throat and spoke to the other three.
"No, no, just help Xiangxiang carry it. Ours are not heavy."
Yi Cong'an and Han Nianlu quickly shook their heads, while Qing Yanrou shook the things in her hands very casually to show that they were very light.
"Okay then. I'll walk in front and you guys follow behind me. Remember to tell me if it gets too heavy."
"Li Manxiang, can I call you Manxiang?"
Liang Yong first spoke to the three of them, and then looked at Li Manxiang. When he said this, the hand holding the shoulder strap of the bag tightened involuntarily.
"It's just a name, whatever you want to call me."
"Okay, Manxiang, my name is Liang Yong, I'm your classmate, I—"
"I know. Let's go. We have to go down the mountain for lunch."
Li Manxiang didn't know why he said this. She looked at him with a puzzled look and couldn't help but interrupt him.
Liang Yong: ...
"good."
The three people behind him couldn't help but chuckle.
