Chapter 128 Standoff

Song Xingyao's mind was a complete mess. As she spoke, she tried to recall which part of the process had gone wrong.

The windows inside the house were tightly closed; to get out, one had to go through the main door.

Who is it?

"Nurse! Where is that nurse?"

As if she had found the answer, she stood up and ran outside.

Upon hearing her words, the bodyguard quickly realized the nurse's unnatural movements.

He instructed the people at the entrance to control the hospital exits.

As more people gathered at the entrance, a commotion arose, with many not even knowing what was going on.

Restless emotions were ignited.

Someone was in a hurry to leave, but was stopped by the bodyguards.

"This is illegal imprisonment! Let me out! I need to go to work!"

The hospital was already crowded, and the noise and chaos were like haggling at a market.

The continuous rain made the indoor atmosphere even more humid and stuffy.

Song Xingyao went from room to room, still on the phone.

I could hear her shouts and knocking on the door over the phone.

Jiang Man paced anxiously, her palms sweating profusely.

After learning the whole story, Fu Ting could only hold his wife's hand.

The phone in my hand never stopped ringing.

When the director of Jiangcheng Public Security Bureau received Fu Ting's call, he was still leisurely sipping tea.

Upon hearing that the Fu family's child might have been abducted, a drop of scalding hot tea splashed onto his hand.

It's been so many years since Jiangcheng has seen a sensational case.

Song Xingyao being kidnapped counts as one instance.

There's going to be a lot of work to do again.

Still unaware of the specifics, Director Jiang could only personally organize a seminar on special cases to help the Fu family find their child.

A thought flashed through my mind: human trafficking?

It reminds me of something that happened more than 20 years ago. Is there any connection?

Forget it, let's analyze the clues we have now first...

Song Xingyao had already stopped almost every nurse who passed by to take a look, but she still couldn't find the person who had just gone out.

When Jiang Man arrived at the hospital, the lobby was in complete chaos.

Fortunately, the bodyguard remained loyal to his duty and knew to protect Song Xingyao.

The dean and Jiang Man and her husband arrived together.

The bodyguards detained everyone, and the dean also looked troubled.

This isn't how you find someone! But the young master of the Fu family did indeed disappear in the hospital.

Jiang Man knelt down in front of Song Xingyao as she walked through the crowd.

He reached out and smoothed her messy hair before speaking to comfort her, "Yaoyao, don't worry, Mommy and Daddy are here."

"We'll definitely find him." He pulled her onto his shoulder and hugged her.

This action only made Song Xingyao cry even louder.

The corridor echoed with Song Xingyao's cries, and the commotion in the crowd came to a halt because of her piercing screams.

Fu Xunzhi was casually placed on the sofa by Fu Yao.

She sat to the side, looking at the fair and delicate face that combined the best features of both Fu Siming and Song Xingyao.

For a fleeting second, Fu Yao even had the illusion that if she hadn't left for those few years, this child would probably have been hers and Fu Siming's...

Her fingernail lightly grazed his face, quickly leaving a delicate red mark.

But it didn't cry or make a fuss. It lay there quietly, like a peaceful doll, without moving.

The thought of how devastated Song Xingyao must be right now filled Fu Yao with immense satisfaction.

If that woman could see her child get hurt.

What an interesting scene that would be!

She'll probably end up like her biological mother, a crazy, mentally ill person.

Just thinking about it made her smile with barely suppressed joy.

He poured the remaining half-glass of wine into the carpet.

An empty syringe was quickly filled with the clear medicine.

A few drops of liquid spilled from the needle tip and slid down the syringe.

It dripped onto the cloth strip binding Fu Xunzhi.

The hospital quickly assembled all its nurses.

Jiang Ting was the only one missing; she wasn't answering her phone, and she had disappeared from the work schedule.

Song Xingyao only glanced at the photo before confirming that it was her.

She went in and came out again.

In the dean's office, Director Jiang, along with some police officers from the investigation and analysis team, watched the surveillance footage.

However, Jiang Ting seemed to know the location of the hospital's surveillance cameras very well, so she was not captured on camera.

The hospital director stood by, sweating profusely. A suspected human trafficker was in his hospital; although there was no conclusive evidence, his innocence was questionable.

Even the police's meticulous investigative logic couldn't save the anxious Song Xingyao.

It's clear that even Jiang Ting herself can't be found now.

She couldn't sit still any longer, so she let go of Jiang Man's hand and ran out of the office.

It took Jiang Man a while to react before she chased after her, only to see her already rushing into the rain.

Jiang Man couldn't keep up with her pace, so she had to ask the bodyguard to follow her out to look for her.

Rain lashed against Song Xingyao's face. While other pedestrians sought shelter from the rain, she ran through it.

They didn't care about the chill of the spring rain hitting their bodies.

She cried as she looked around the area near the hospital.

No matter how much she called out, it was no use. Fu Xunzhi was just an infant and had no way to respond to her cries.

The bodyguards didn't dare go too far, so they followed behind her, keeping an eye on her situation at all times.

-

When Fu Yao heard the door open, she immediately picked up Fu Xunzhi, who was still fast asleep, from the side of the sofa and got up.

He turned around and leaned against the wall, the needle in his hand pointing directly at Fu Xunzhi's tightly closed eyes.

The look in Fu Siming's direction held a hint of mockery.

The man's hair was soaked by the rain, which dripped down, wetting the carpet.

"You've arrived!"
