Chapter 197 The Strange Woman

Am I starting to feel lonely?

The last woman by his side was that crazy woman. When he first returned to Jiangcheng, he even had moments when he wanted to take the initiative to find Fu Yao.

He thought he had fallen in love with her, and even had someone rescue her from the villa as if possessed.

It's actually quite interesting.

Unfortunately, she's now a crazy woman.

He shrugged.

That night, he had a strange dream. A familiar yet unfamiliar face ran into his line of sight and asked him: Do you remember who I am?

The girl ran further and further away, and he didn't even get a clear look at her face. Gu Mai chased after her for a very long time before he woke up with a start.

He noticed that it was already getting light outside the window, and his headache was acting up again, he thought.

I staggered to the desk in the next room, took out the medicine from the drawer and drank it. Whether it worked or not, at least my racing heartbeat calmed down a little.

Perhaps he's just been too tired lately, he thought.

The air purifier in the room seemed to have stopped working. He walked to the window, opened it, and saw his younger brother, Gu Mi, who had mocked him yesterday, drunk and staggering as he snatched the electric saw from the gardener who was trimming the lawn.

"No wonder the view here is so good!" Gu Mai exclaimed once again.

The temperature was low in the early morning, and the wind blowing into the room made Gu Mai shiver.

The window was open, and I could just hear the sounds coming from the garden.

Several maids followed behind Gumi, who was carrying a chainsaw, keeping a certain distance from him. The gardener whose chainsaw had been taken from him was also following, worried that Gumi might hurt himself if he made a mistake while operating the chainsaw.

Some hesitated and dared not step forward.

Gu Mai, who was not fully sober at first, was also awakened by Gu Mi's drunken antics and looked over, propping himself up on his arms.

As Gumi brandished his chainsaw, he shouted, "Gumai! You bastard, how dare you mock me! How dare you curse me! I'll beat you to death!"

It turns out I was the main character.

The low-lying flowerbeds looked as if they had been gnawed by a pack of mad dogs from his waving motions.

He curses once, then waves his hand rhythmically.

He was so angry that he was about to lift it up, but the length of the wire had reached its limit, and the thick wire pulled him back.

Because he had been drinking, Gumi was already swaying and fell to the ground. The chainsaw was also loosened and fell to the ground because of his movement.

But he still seemed unsatisfied and reached out to grab it again.

Gu Mai couldn't hear what came after that, as he had closed the window. It was nothing more than old grudges and new hatreds left over from the competition for succession; there was nothing pleasant to hear.

He stood there for a long time until someone called Lauren, who, accompanied by a burly bodyguard, knocked him unconscious with a karate chop.

The farce in the garden finally came to an end.

A tall man was lifted up like a lump of mud and carried away from the garden.

The old man's favorite rose garden was now a mess. It was a pity that the newly transplanted roses hadn't even had a chance to bloom before they were destroyed, leaving only broken branches and fallen leaves.

Gu Mai couldn't understand why Gu Mi hated him so much after he had obtained the position of heir.

In his memory, when they were brought from the orphanage to the Sigour Estate, they were quite close.

The children were still young then, and compared to a grumpy old man who fed and clothed them, children of the same age were bound to play together better.

However, after they were given different training programs based on their personalities, they didn't see each other for a long time.

Until a survival competition in the wild, a group of children were thrown into a deep mountain where they couldn't tell which way was which.

That was the first time he had ever hit a live target with a gun. He remembered that he had clearly shot the man in the arm and let him go, but the old man was not satisfied later.

I captured him and brought him back, then shot him in the heart.

The old man said: Either kill him, or I'll kill you.

He was terrified, so he fired the gun. Later, he heard from the servants at the manor that the man had been taken away, and they didn't know whether he was dead or alive.

It was during that survival training camp that he met Gu Mi. The two children, who were not even as heavy as the wolf king, were chased all the way by a blood wolf fed with raw meat.

He lost consciousness before the blood wolf opened its mouth at him.

He couldn't quite remember how the two of them got out of there; it was just that after the competition, the old man had already assigned them the order of succession.

Gu Mi became the alternative, and from then on, the two were never able to exchange a peaceful word.

They are always competitive and confrontational.

The old man never treated them as children, or even as people; they were merely there to inherit the business empire he had built.

"Heh." A self-deprecating snort.

Gu Mai instructed Lauren to prepare the car, "I'm going on an inspection tour, you don't need to come along, I won't be back tonight."

Just as he was about to leave, he suddenly remembered something: "Oh right, remember not to let Gu Mi drink himself to death at the manor, otherwise the old guys in the group will think I'm harming my own brothers."

After saying that, he whistled loudly.

Gu Mai didn't have anyone follow him; he drove himself out of the manor, and once outside, even the air seemed sweeter.

Perhaps only when people are in a cage do they realize how precious freedom is.

To avoid arousing suspicion, Gu Mai inspected the two industrial chains and arrived at a huge farm before it got dark in the afternoon.

A delicate wooden house stands on a large expanse of mechanized farmland.

A middle-aged woman and a boy were sitting next to him.

The child reached the woman's waist, and the woman worked with him, manipulating the thread and coils in her hands, while bending over to explain things to him.

"This line can't be too long, or it'll easily break in the wind. Got it?"

The boy was confused, but he quickly grasped the kite-flying techniques she taught him.

"Mom!! Mom, look, the kite is flying!"

Gu Mai watched as the child excitedly ran along, pulling the string in his hand.

The woman praised the child, saying, "You're amazing! You flew so high!"

In the expansive golden view, he ran freely, seemingly adapting well to the source of his heart.

Yes, this was the first time Gu Mai had come to see the child. Seeing him grow up so freely, he was glad he had sent him away. Children should run in the sunshine, not receive some kind of heir training in that gloomy castle.

For a moment, he felt like a mouse spying on other people's happiness.

Without realizing it, he had stepped into the farm.

Seeing her child run far away, the mother shouted, "Land, slow down! Run back!"

Hearing his mother's call, the child looked up at the kite and turned back.

With a "bang," the child named Land tripped over a pebble and rolled onto the side where the reel couldn't hold it back, letting out a long stretch of line.

The kite string was snapped when it was hit by a returning harvester.

Tears welled up in the child's eyes, and he sat on the ground, looking somewhat aggrieved.
