Chapter 272 Separation is easy, reconciliation is hard

Song Xingyao said coldly, "If you didn't intend for me to know or see this, then you shouldn't have come to me."

Remembering the purpose of his trip, Fu Sixiang obediently took off his clothes and turned around.

Two long, dark purple welts were now visible on his strong back, crisscrossing and looking gruesome.

Her hands were icy cold, and when she touched Fu Siming's back, his back muscles involuntarily tensed up.

The room was quiet for a while before Fu Siming turned around. Her hand was still hanging in mid-air, and her brows were slightly furrowed with worry.

He held Song Xingyao's hand in his palm. "Don't worry, Grandpa did this..."

It's easy to guess that with such neat and tidy wounds, who would be so well-behaved after being beaten, let alone someone like Fu Siming?

Seeing that she didn't react to his words, Fu Siming turned around and pulled her into his arms. His bare upper body was pressed against hers. Song Xingyao tried to struggle, but then she heard his low, husky voice in her ear.

“Song Xingyao, I came here today to tell you that I know I was wrong. I shouldn’t have kept everything from you, made decisions on my own, and thought it was for your own good. I shouldn’t have made you feel like you were always following behind me.”

He hurriedly finished speaking, not even bothering to look at Song Xingyao's expression, and clung to her shoulder, unwilling to move away.

Fu Siming had never expressed his feelings so directly before; he was afraid that Song Xingyao would not forgive him.

She was afraid that someone else would appear in her life during this short period of time.

Song Xingyao was indeed stunned, not realizing how he had suddenly become enlightened after being beaten by the old man.

Seeing that she didn't react for a long time, Fu Siming pulled away from her and looked at her face, saying, "But now, I'm angry! There can't be anyone else by your side, only me, Song Xingyao. I won't do this again, can you forgive me?"

Her pleading words carried a strong sense of possessiveness, and Song Xingyao chuckled softly.

"If I had known that beating you up would have worked, I would have told Grandpa sooner..."

Song Xingyao went around to the driver's seat and drove to a nearby pharmacy to get some medicine to treat his wound.

After Fu Siming finished telling her about the Fu family's affairs, Song Xingyao was just as surprised as Jiang Man. She never expected that Fu Bowen could do such a thing.

Hearing this, she became angry and her movements became a little heavier. Fu Siming pulled her back, "Don't be angry. Actually, I should thank him. If he hadn't brought me to that place, I wouldn't have met you."

When Song Xingyao heard him say this, she placed her hand on his forehead, somewhat questioning his mental state.

"Yaoyao, come back with me?"

"no!"

Fu Siming heard her reject him without hesitation, "Why?"

“My dad can’t accept this yet. He’s getting old. Give him some time. I’m worried about leaving him at home alone in this state. He’ll figure it out eventually.”

Fu Siming didn't expect that separating would be so easy and making up so difficult. Thinking of Fu Quan, he knew that bringing Song Xingyao home would not be an easy task.

He thought for a moment, then snatched the things from Song Xingyao's hands and put them aside. "Don't get so close to Shi Yu, Song Xingyao!"

His expression turned serious as he cupped Song Xingyao's face in his hands, forcing her to look at him.

Song Xingyao shook her head: "I'm afraid it will be a bit difficult."

"?"

“Yesterday I invited him to work with me on the charity project that the hospital recently took on, so we will be working together for a long time to come.”

Fu Siming wore a frustrated expression. Nothing had gone smoothly all night. He was already annoyed by Shi Yu, and now that he knew Song Xingyao would be working with him for so long, he was even more annoyed.

Song Xingyao rarely saw this man act childish, so she let him be. After all, he was getting beaten up and creating an imaginary enemy for himself.

She deliberately scratched the man's head. "Alright, Mr. Fu, stop sulking here. You should go back to the Fu family too, right? I should go back too, otherwise Dad will call me later. Let's leave it at that for now. Once the project is finished, maybe Dad will understand. I know he doesn't really blame you, but he's always thinking about my mother leaving and has never truly moved on."

"What if he can't figure it out? Does that mean we really have to get a divorce?"

"You don't believe me?"

Song Xingyao's words startled him.

So he immediately added, "What I mean is, don't you believe I can communicate properly with my dad? You've suddenly become enlightened, and he's older than you, so he definitely won't be stuck in this for too long, Fu Siming, you have to believe me."

"..."

In the end, Fu Siming kept her there for almost half an hour before letting her leave.

They didn't dare stop the car too far forward, for fear of being spotted by Fu Quan.

Although reluctant, Fu Sixiang thought about recent events and realized that he couldn't take care of him right now. Sun Jiming was not someone who could be easily dealt with in Jiangcheng, and it was safer for him to be at the Fu family's house than by his side.

Song Xingyao didn't expect the two to reconcile so quickly. Although she didn't want to separate from Fu Siming, Fu Quan's heartache would indeed take some time to heal. Forcing him to accept it would only backfire.

Fu Bowen returned to the main house, intending to apologize to Jiang Man, but was stopped by Fu Ting.

Jiang Man, with her fiery temper, had been cursing in the room for a full half hour. The father and son sat in the study, and Fu Ting lit a cigarette in front of his son for the first time, but did not smoke it, as he had promised Jiang Man.

Fu Bowen: "I'm sorry, Dad."

Fu Ting: "What's there to apologize for? Actually, I'm sorry to you both. If I had known that your relationship had turned out like this, I wouldn't have just ignored it. Is your back injury alright?"

Fu Bowen shook his head. "Dad, I want to put the company's affairs on hold for now."

He suddenly couldn't understand whether what he had persisted in for so long was to prove himself to Fu Siming, or whether he genuinely enjoyed market management.

“Bowen, don’t rush into a decision. The Fu family still needs you. This Fu family isn’t just about A-Ming’s name; it’s about all the Fu family members. The Fu family is only together when everyone is together. The Fu family never has anyone’s name on it. So, Bowen, there’s no need for you brothers to fight to the death. When you go out, people will say you’re all from the Fu family.” Fu Ting knew what he was thinking. He didn’t directly refuse, but he didn’t want to push him too hard either.

"What will happen to the Fu family and Tiansheng afterward depends on your own thoughts, brothers. If you want the Fu family to get better and better, I only know that harmony and cooperation are the most important. If you fight each other to the point of mutual destruction, it will be harmful to the Fu family and will only make others take advantage of the situation."

"Alright, go see your mother. What you said really angered her. She's probably still upset. Apologize to her properly." After saying that, Fu Ting threw the cigarette that had just burned out into the glass on the table.
