Hearing his deliberately lowered voice, Song Qiao took her phone back and went into her room.
She called him "husband" and said "I miss you" repeatedly in a coquettish tone.
She didn't care whether Sun Jiming was in the office or at home; all she knew was that men loved this kind of exciting feeling.
Sun Jiming was also aroused by her soft voice, his blood boiling and his whole body burning.
The intensity increased a bit more until the man on the other side let out a soft pant, at which point the commotion on Song Qiao's side abruptly ceased.
"I'll be right there." He hung up the phone, straightened his suit to look presentable, and then left the study.
The mother and daughter who had been outside the door had returned to their room, leaving the living room empty except for Sun Hui's toys, which were neatly stored in boxes.
Thinking of the beautiful woman waiting on the other end of the phone, he couldn't care less about the heartless woman inside the house.
The car was parked at the villa in the western suburbs. Song Qiao was already prepared. She saw his car parked downstairs from the window, but deliberately did not go down to greet him. Instead, she lay down and waited for him to come up.
Song Xin had the housekeeper take him out.
Sun Jiming arrived in a great hurry, but to his surprise, the woman did not come down to greet him. When he arrived at the room, he saw a woman lying on the bed with her eyes covered by a ribbon under the dim light.
Without even closing the door, they pounced on it.
Song Qiao was particularly good at manipulating Sun Jiming in bed. Because he hadn't released his pent-up energy in a long time, Sun Jiming kept her busy all afternoon.
As dusk fell, Sun Jiming glanced at the time, got out of bed, and Song Qiao noticed his movement. She immediately pounced on him, and the ambiguous marks on her skin pressed against his arm.
"Are you leaving already? We haven't seen each other for so long, why don't you rest here for the night?" Her voice was still a little hoarse.
Sun Jiming touched her expressionlessly, "I have a business dinner tonight, I have to go now, I'll come see you again next time."
When he said that, there was no room for negotiation. Song Qiao, being sensible, sat on the bed with a displeased expression.
Seeing her like this, Sun Jiming patiently coaxed her, "Don't be angry, it'll be over soon. Things in Jiangcheng will be over soon. We'll have plenty of time to go back to Beishi. I'm afraid you'll be begging me to leave then."
At the end, his gaze lingered on her, sweeping over her once more.
"Then you should leave quickly!"
Her chin was hooked by his fingers, forcing her to look up at him, like he was teasing a cat. "Now you want me to leave? Then I'll really leave."
Song Qiao hugged him from behind, "Will you come to Xin'er's birthday party? He's asked me so many times, but I can't tell him."
"I don't know if there's any work scheduled for that day. I'll have my secretary arrange it for me." He reached out and untied the woman's hand.
Then he left.
Song Qiao watched the man's back as he left the room, then collapsed onto the bed. The room was a mess, and she felt uneasy.
These past few days have been peaceful, so peaceful that Li Xinyi thought Sun Jiming was genuinely acting out of conscience and wanted to give Sun Hui a proper birthday celebration.
Seeing that Sun Hui was unusually less resistant to him, her attitude towards Sun Jiming also improved considerably.
Before I knew it, my birthday arrived.
Before leaving, Sun Jiming specifically instructed his secretary to report his itinerary in front of Li Xinyi.
Unfortunately, the woman was busy changing Sun Hui's clothes and didn't even look up.
He deliberately made some noise: "I'll be back early tonight. I've already prepared the gifts and cake, and my secretary will deliver them first. Don't stay out too late tonight."
Knowing that he had investigated her whereabouts, Li Xinyi silently helped Sun Hui get dressed, and the two of them left the suite.
The bodyguards at the door didn't react much to this and followed.
Sun Hui kept insisting on seeing Fu Xunzhi, which is why she arranged to meet Song Xingyao on her birthday.
The two children held hands and ran to the side as soon as they met, which made Li Xinyi happy.
Song Xingyao thought about the orphanage and her relationship with Sun Jiming, but didn't want to spoil Li Xinyi's mood, so she hesitated to speak. Unexpectedly, Li Xinyi spoke first.
"Thank you, Xingyao. If it weren't for you, Xiaohui wouldn't have been able to get over it so quickly."
"I didn't do anything. It's called treatment, but really it's just that the two kids went out to play twice. It was because you were with her that she recovered so quickly. How have you been lately?"
"Me?" Li Xinyi knew what she was asking. "I'm fine with anything. As long as we keep to ourselves, everything will be fine. But he is still Xiaohui's father after all, and I don't know what I should do to be the best for her."
"Just for her? What about your life?"
"..." Li Xinyi remained silent, then shook her head. "I don't know. Right now, all I want is to see her grow up healthy."
Two women stood by the glass window, watching the children playing inside.
A familiar voice broke the silence.
"Xingyao??" Ye Si looked at the two people in front of him, carrying a large bag in his hand.
"Mrs. Sun, you're here too."
"Yes? What are you doing here? Aren't you on duty?"
Yes held up the bag in his hand. "I came to pick up some books for my father. He saw a few ancient books he liked at the auction house, and said he didn't trust anyone else to do it, so he had to send me."
Song Xingyao smiled and nodded. Li Xinyi was a little unhappy with his form of address, but she still frowned and nodded to him.
Just then, the two little ones playing inside ran out.
Sun Hui excitedly took the plant specimens that Fu Xunzhi had given him and rushed into Li Xinyi's arms.
"Mom! This is a gift from Brother Fu. He also said he could teach me how to make this." She held her little hand high, as if afraid that Li Xinyi wouldn't see it.
The next second, I saw Yes standing to the side.
Her eyes lit up. "Uncle Ye!"
