Chapter 297 Hidden Camera

I didn't have high expectations for his so-called birthday party. The room was full of gifts that didn't really fit the occasion, and there was even a meal with seafood that my child was allergic to.

I don't know what his purpose is in pretending to be a good father.

What was hateful before is now utterly ridiculous.

But she still looked at her daughter, thinking that at least the child shouldn't know these things.

Sun Hui asked, "Mom, isn't Dad coming back?"

"He's probably still busy. Xiaohui, eat first and get some rest. Mom will take you to the amusement park tomorrow. Haven't you always wanted to go?"

"Yay!" she exclaimed, still chewing on a piece of sweet fried milk. "Can I join Brother Fu and Uncle Ye?"

"...Brother Fu has to go to school tomorrow, and Uncle Ye has to go to work. They both have their own things to do and can't come with you. How about Mommy comes with you?"

Her little face drooped for a moment, then brightened again, "Okay!"

It was nearly ten o'clock when Song Qiao saw the person off at the villa in the western suburbs.

Sun Jiming hadn't expected Song Xin to be so ill. He called the doctor to examine her again, and the doctor said that the child was vaguely in a coma. This frightened Song Qiao so much that she kept crying in her arms.

Song Xin was also groaning in pain on the bed, which was heartbreaking.

After all, he was her only son. Although she cared deeply for the two women on the other side, one older and one younger, she couldn't bear to see her son pitifully calling for his father.

Only after the medicine took effect did I think about leaving.

She stood at the door comforting the self-blaming, crying Song Qiao, and then got into the car.

Sitting in the back seat, he pinched the bridge of his nose. "Back to the hotel."

"yes!"

The villa was in the woods in the distance. Ang shook the camera he had snatched from his hand, then casually opened the photo album and flipped through a few pictures.

"Hmm... well done."

The man kneeling on the ground trembled, his tongue shaking.

He only received a big order to film something important, and he didn't want to lose his life.

But when he saw clearly who came out of the house, he realized what kind of job he had taken on—it was such an important person.

I had just finished taking the picture when the man in front of me grabbed me and took the camera away.

"I'm...I'm sorry, I was just doing this job, please...please let me go. I have elderly parents and young children to support, I promise I didn't see anything...I'll delete it..."

Ang looked at the man in front of him with amusement.

He interrupted the spell by speaking, "Don't be nervous," and reached out to pull the person up, his face hidden in the shadows of the woods, his expression unreadable.

The man in front of her didn't dare to look up, and the hand he helped up trembled uncontrollably.

Ang handed the camera back to him, and a pleasant young voice reached the man's ears, "Don't be nervous. I think you took some good photos, it would be a shame to delete them."

The man's face showed surprise. So...so he wasn't from that side?

"Not only will I not tell you to delete it, I'll also make you post it."

The man shook his head vigorously without hesitation, "I...I dare not."

"What are you afraid of? Aren't the orders you took meant to be fulfilled anyway?"

"Yes...but that person is...I...I'm going to quit after I hand over the negatives."

Ang let out a soft chuckle. "Do you really think it's that easy? Do you think you can actually get your hands on this money?"

He took a piece of paper out of his pocket; it was a blank card with a phone number printed on it. “Contact him, send him the negatives, and someone will help you.”

The man had just taken the card from him when, in the blink of an eye, Ang had vanished into the darkness without a trace.

Although he had his doubts, it was clear that he wouldn't be safe no matter who he cooperated with.

The phone in his pocket emitted a muffled vibration, startling him so much that he felt his body tremble along with it.

"Did you take the photos?" Song Qiao asked in a low voice.

"Hmm... I got the photos. How can I give you the negatives?"

"No need for film. Put the developed photos under the second tree outside the villa garden at 8 a.m. tomorrow. I'll go back and get them, then help me edit the manuscript. I'll tell you when to send it out, so just send it out."

The man on the other end of the phone was silent for a while. Sure enough, he wasn't just asking him to take pictures. He glanced at the business card in his hand. He wanted to refuse, but thinking about the large sum of money, he couldn't resist the temptation and agreed.

Back at the hotel, Sun Jiming saw his secretary standing at the door. He had missed the call because Song Qiao had been lingering.

His gaze pierced through the heavy door, looking behind it as if trying to discern the reactions of the two people, one large and one small, behind the door.

"What was her reaction?" Sun Jiming asked in a cold voice.

The secretary kept her head down. "There was no reaction, so we had the hotel heat up the food. The mother and daughter ate and went back to their room to rest. I'll come out and wait for you."

"..." A trace of resentment escaped his nostrils. He had felt a lot of guilt before, but it disappeared after he said that sentence. This woman was indeed different from before.

"I understand. You go back first. Please take good care of me there. Find a doctor to stay there permanently to take care of me. It's not convenient for me to go there recently."

"yes."

He pushed open the door and went inside. The room was indeed pitch black. He turned the doorknob of the suite twice and locked it.

He then returned to his room.

Li Xinyi sat on the bed. Hearing the noise, she watched warily as the doorknob shook twice and then fell silent. Only then did she feel at ease and hug the already sleeping Sun Hui to go to sleep.

I was worried that I would run into him when I woke up the next day, but he went out early in the morning, which saved me the trouble of communicating with him.

I went out to have a great time, completely unaffected by yesterday's birthday.

Unlike Beishi, not many people in Jiangcheng know them. In Beishi, however, local businesses seem to have marked her identity information as a regular customer. As long as she bought a ticket, someone would quickly offer to serve her.

This made the mother and daughter very uncomfortable, but no one in Jiangcheng was around them, and Sun Hui rarely got to come out and have fun. The mother and daughter had a great time and were unwilling to leave even when it got dark.

But after the night passed, and given that Li Xinyi had mild night blindness, she was worried that the child would get lost, so she coaxed Sun Hui to go back with her.

Carrying a large pile of spoils, Li Xinyi was excited all the way, even though she had been playing all day. She thought to herself, "Jiangcheng is really a great place."

Suddenly, I feel that settling down here wouldn't be so bad.

Winters in Taipei are much colder than in Jiangcheng, and like her marriage, there's nothing to miss about those winters.

She suddenly realized what she was thinking, and Sun Hui in her arms was still chattering away, talking to her while holding things.

The bodyguards who were sent to accompany them helped the mother and daughter carry their things to the coffee table in the suite's living room. Seeing the envelope that stood out conspicuously on the blank tabletop, Li Xinyi was a little puzzled. She picked it up and casually turned it over, glancing at it a couple of times.

It felt quite heavy, and the white envelope even had a red stamp on the seal, making it look more like an invitation.

She tore it open, and several photos slipped into her hands.
