Chapter 314 This woman dares to mess with me!

Two men wearing masks carried a stretcher out, and Ang looked over at them with bated breath.

The two men struggled to lift the body bag into the car and then drove away.

Ang noted down their license plate number but did not follow them.

It seems there was an unexpected bonus.

It took the municipal government a long time to get the reporters at the entrance to leave, and Sun Jiming received a call from an unknown number.

The voice on the other end was reproachful: "Old Sun, why is there always trouble on your end... Hey, now there are other voices coming from above, I think you really should tone it down."

"I'm sorry, I understand, I'll be more careful."

Secretary Xia, standing to the side, was also seeing Sun Jiming so respectful for the first time.

He instructed, "Tell Liangyan that things are tense lately, so don't schedule any work for them."

That phone call was from the head of the election organizing team, and there were already some other voices on the other end.

If things escalate further, it might be difficult to handle.

This must never happen.

The message Sun Xiaoxiao received after traveling back and forth to the villa in Zhengzhou.

She was still immersed in the emotions she had just experienced. The girl she had met in the infirmary had died from internal bleeding.

She simply tidied the child's appearance as usual, but unlike Xiaofang, her face was completely pale.

She appeared to have died of a common illness, and perhaps no one will ever know how she passed away.

Their lives are so worthless, like roadside weeds, ignored and trampled upon at will.

After she finished tidying up, she discovered that Zheng Zhong had come and gone from the villa and secretly whispered in her ear that they were not allowed to open for business recently.

"What happened?"

She looked surprised.

Zheng Zhong looked around and, finding no one there, whispered in her ear, "It's probably because of the recent news!"

Shh! Don't tell anyone!

Sun Xiaoxiao knew about that news, but compared to harboring and organizing girls to provide sexual services, it was something else entirely.

She, like everyone else, felt that if the child was just an illegitimate child, it probably wouldn't have a significant impact on Sun Jiming.

Upon seeing someone coming downstairs, Zheng Zhonglai took a half-step back.

The person who came was looking for Sun Xiaoxiao. "Sister Xiaoxiao, can I talk to you alone for a bit?"

Zheng Zhonglai waved his hand: "Alright, go ahead."

He followed the girl upstairs, and the two stood at the end of a secluded corridor.

"Sister Xiaoxiao, I'm scared..."

She had only been there a short time when she saw people being carried out, and all she knew was to seek comfort from the eldest of them.

Sun Xiaoxiao didn't say much, but stepped forward and hugged her, gently patting her back. "That child is sick, but unfortunately, there aren't any good medical facilities here..."

“They said…we would all be taken out to drink, eat, and sleep with men, and we would never be able to leave again, I…”

We'll get out of here someday; we won't stay here forever.

She didn't say it aloud, but she felt that such a day would probably come.

Sun Jiming sat in the hotel, looking out at the dark clouds, feeling somewhat irritated. Thunderstorms had started just as early summer began; the weather in Jiangcheng was really bad.

He felt a vague unease, looking at the continuous calls from Song Qiao on his phone, feeling really annoyed.

Just as the call was answered, Secretary Xia knocked on the door and came in.

The woman's panicked voice echoed through the empty room on the other end of the phone.

"You finally answered the phone! What do we do now? How could someone send something like this?!"

"I don't know... I really don't know... Let's go back to Taipei as soon as possible. I'm so scared, Jiming, what if someone finds us? What about Xin'er..."

Song Qiao's continuous sobbing and wailing made Sun Jiming even more irritated.

"Alright, stop crying. I have someone watching over there. You and Xin'er just stay there. No one will find out. I have something to do, I'm hanging up."

Secretary Xia heard the key words but didn't change her expression, yet she knew who he was talking to.

But with all the information at hand, I reckon another storm is brewing soon.

"Speak." After hanging up the phone, he looked up at the man in front of him holding a folder.

"Boss, we couldn't find the person who published this news, but a lot of people in the underworld said that a woman had contacted us wanting to leak information, but she refused..."

He paused for a moment, unsure whether to continue speaking.

Meeting Qian Sun Jiming's cold, sharp gaze, he said, "According to the contact information they provided, the coordinates we found are Miss Song's residence."

The room was so quiet you could see a pin drop.

Secretary Xia didn't say anything more and didn't look at the man's expression.

I just felt that the temperature around me had dropped quite a bit.

Sun Jiming felt his blood surging in his chest, and a surge of anger welled up inside him.

He kicked the glass coffee table next to him hard.

The coffee table was moved, but it didn't make much noise when it bumped into the sofa.

Secretary Xia's knee was grazed by the corner, but she didn't dare to move an inch.

"Damn it, this woman dares to mess with me."

She just called to say she was scared.

"Oh shit!"

He kicked her again, and Secretary Xia felt that he was getting angry and didn't know what to say.

She kept her head down, avoiding meeting his anger.

Once he had enjoyed smashing things, he returned to his usual cold and aloof demeanor.

But a hint of murderous intent crept in: "Send me there."

After the call was disconnected, Song Qiao seemed to realize that he didn't suspect her, and felt a little relieved.

I had barely put my mind at ease for two minutes when an unknown number called my phone.

"Miss Song, are you satisfied with the headline?" The playful voice sent a chill down Song Qiao's spine.

Didn't I tell you not to contact me?

Still feeling uneasy after speaking, she hid in the bathroom and lowered her voice.

"If I don't transfer the money to you, how will I receive my payment? When will the final payment be settled? I don't want a bank transfer, I want cash. Find a way to get to the address I gave you."

The mocking yet smug voice made Song Qiao both annoyed and somewhat anxious.

"Where am I supposed to get cash for you? Are you crazy?"

"This is none of my business. I've already done what I was asked to do, and the rest is none of my concern."

"You're insane!"

Song Qiao was a little angry and couldn't help but curse out loud.

How could she possibly get out now? That madwoman.

"Deliver the money to this address next Friday night. If you don't have it, I imagine you don't want Minister Sun to know about this, do you..."

"Hey! Hey!!"

After uttering the threat, the person on the other end hung up the phone.

Song Qiao felt a cold sweat break out on her back.

No! Sun Jiming absolutely cannot find out, or she'll be finished!

There was a knock on the bathroom door.

Song Qiao immediately turned on the shower head.

"Mom, Dad's here, what are you doing?"

Song Xin's voice came weakly.

Why did Sun Jiming come at this time?

She was somewhat flustered.

"Mom... is taking a shower. Why don't you go play with Dad for a bit?"

The sound of flowing water masked the trembling of her voice.
