His flattery pleased Sun Jiming, who laughed heartily.
"President Li has good judgment. I respect you."
"Respect us."
He raised his glass to clink glasses, and the overhead light illuminated the sharp glint in his eyes behind his glasses.
At the Fu residence, ever since her last argument with Fu Quan ended badly, Song Xingyao has been trying to figure out how to get Fu Quan to let go of the past while also keeping an eye on the progress of the conflict between Fu Siming and Sun Jiming.
She looked at her phone; Fu Siming hadn't replied to her message since she sent it that morning.
An inexplicable sense of unease.
She quickly answered the call that suddenly appeared on the screen, letting out a surprised sound.
"Fu Siming?!"
"Song Xingyao, have you been waiting for my call?"
Hearing that he still had the mind to joke with her, Song Xingyao answered simply, "Yes, I'm waiting for you."
"Come to the window."
Song Xingyao's heart skipped a beat, and she quickly walked to the window.
Through the window, the man he hadn't seen in a long time stood across the street, holding up his phone and looking at him.
Just as she was about to turn around and go downstairs, Fu Siming called out to her.
"Song Xingyao! Don't come down. After Sun Jiming's matter is over, I will come to pick you up and take you home, back to our home."
His firm words did not reassure Song Xingyao; instead, she sensed a desperate gamble in his tone.
Has he really come up with a way to counter Sun Jiming?
The streetlights at his feet illuminated him brightly.
"Fu Siming, are you serious?"
"Um, do you believe me?"
"I don't believe you," she said awkwardly. "Fu Siming, you have a criminal record. You always lie to me."
"Not this time."
After hanging up the phone, Fu Siming saw Song Xingyao still standing by the window, turned around, got into his car, and returned to Tiansheng.
