Chapter 342 Conviction

At the police station, the interrogators were lenient and didn't handcuff Sun Jiming.

The man sitting in the interrogation chair looked at the person opposite him who would never normally sit at the same table with him, now sitting high above him, ready to interrogate him.

His eyes were full of disdain, and he remained silent.

Seeing that he was not very cooperative, the detective on the other end patiently asked, "Does Minister Sun think that if he doesn't talk, he can't be convicted?"

"..."

"Heh," the policeman sitting in front of the computer chuckled softly, "Does Minister Sun think we can't control someone as important as you?"

After he finished speaking, there was a knock on the door.

The detective in his position immediately stood up to greet him, "Boss, you've arrived."

"Look? The person you've been waiting for has arrived. Can you speak now?"

When Minister Sun saw the person who came, he clenched his fists and was somewhat flustered. It turned out to be someone from the disciplinary inspection department above.

He had assumed that as long as these matters didn't involve this area, and without evidence, there was no way he could be implicated in those cases.

But if someone from above were to come, then there would be no way to protect oneself.

The person from Taipei spoke casually, "This matter has a significant impact; I think we should start as soon as possible."

"yes……"

The detective in charge of the interrogation sat back down in his seat, looked at Sun Jiming opposite him, and began the interrogation.

Sun Jiming: "..."

For almost the entire night, one side questioned the other while the other side sorted through the evidence.

By the time dawn broke, Sun Jiming was completely exhausted. He recounted everything about the orphanage and the villa in the western suburbs, but he insisted that he had never killed anyone.

With no breakthrough in sight, and everyone talking but no evidence, they had no choice but to give up.

In the office, the veteran detective was eating instant noodles when the young policeman next door, who was looking at case files and transcripts, leaned over.

"Master, why would he do something like this when he's already in such a high position?"

He bit off a piece of instant noodles, his face full of disappointment, and smacked his apprentice on the head with the other end of his chopsticks. "How can you still ask such a stupid question after all this time? Think about how he climbed to such a position? Do you still want to climb higher? People are just insatiable."

"oh……"

The apprentice responded and shrank back to his original position.

Looking up, I saw several people had arrived at the door, accompanied by leaders from the Municipal Bureau.

"Hey, Director Li, what brings you here?"

Upon hearing the words of the person next to him, the veteran detective put down the instant noodles in his hand and immediately stood up.

"Director Li!"

The man called Director Li waved his hand and said, "Alright, you've been busy all night. Old Zhong, you eat first. These are the witnesses. I brought them over personally. After you finish eating, you can take their statements."

"OK."

After quickly finishing his meal, Old Zhong led the three people to his office. Looking at them, he hesitated for a moment. "Let's split up. You guys wait outside for now?"

He looked at Ang and Lin Qingyi who were following him.

Lin Mei glanced at her daughter, "I'm sorry, my daughter can't speak, I'll stay with her!"

Old Zhong glanced at them and nodded: "Are you all together? Then come in together."

Then he called out to his young apprentice, "Stop looking, come in and help."

"oh!"

Old Zhong: "Wait, wait...you mean Sun Jiming had you two kidnapped and planted a bomb to kill you?"

Upon hearing what the person in front of him said, Old Zhong felt his mind go blank for a second.

"What grudge does he hold against you that he would do this? If it's just because Miss Lin is his illegitimate daughter..." He glanced in the direction of Lin Mei and her daughter, "I'm sorry..."

Lin Mei shook her head, indicating that she didn't mind.

Ang said, "Of course not. It's because I already knew about the girls at the villa in the western suburbs before the incident, and he was worried that I would tell others. Moreover, the things Jiang Jiayao did in the past were also orchestrated by him behind the scenes."

"Huh?" The little apprentice could no longer keep up with the pace of the group and had to quickly write down what everyone said.

"Jiang Jiayao, you mean that..."

"Yes, it's him."

Ang handed over all the documents he had prepared in advance, some of which were things that even the police couldn't find, and they appeared in front of him.

Old Zhong suppressed his shock and looked at the man in front of him.

Where did he get so much information?

Ang knew what he was thinking. "My father is An Qiming, and this information was not obtained through any illegal means. You don't need to worry about it. Just think of me as a concerned citizen."

Old Zhong felt a little embarrassed that he had been seen through. "Ah... okay, we still need to verify what you said. If there are no problems, then sign it."

Holding up the file folder in his hand, he said, "We still need to sort through these things. If there's anything else, we might contact you again."

The three of them walked out. Lin Mei felt a little depressed, and she couldn't hide the sadness in her eyes as she looked at her daughter.

Lin Mei said to Ang, "I want to be by myself for a while. You and Qingyi can go for a walk."

After saying that, he turned and left. Lin Qingyi reached out to grab her mother, but the man grabbed her wrist first, putting on a joking expression, "What's wrong? Don't you want to come with me?"

Knowing he was joking, Lin Qingyi gave him a push while her hands moved quickly to make gestures.

"You know perfectly well that's not true!"

Ang grabbed her hand in return: "Since that's not it, come with me!"

The two went to the hospital to see Fu Siming and told him about going to the police station.

Song Xingyao and Fu Siming stared at the two clasped hands.

Lin Qingyi belatedly realized that she had shaken him off.

Ang didn't plan to stay long; he had other things to take care of.
