Chapter 54 Qiao Yiming: I don't like him

She carefully considered how to get Fu Siming's attention. After thinking it over, she realized that his eyes were currently on Song Xingyao, so all she had to do was make her disappear.

Just thinking about this made it impossible for her not to feel excited.

On Song Xingyao's side, the preparations for the exhibition are almost complete, and things are progressing smoothly. The only ripple in her life recently is the occasional restlessness of Fu Siming.

Even Qiao Yiming was quiet for many days, honestly helping out a lot, I don't know what kind of shock he suffered.

But her outgoing nature remained unchanged, and she kept calling her "senior sister." Song Xingyao wondered what this girl had grown up eating, with such a thick skin. But after a while, she actually became immune to the term "senior sister."

That noon, after the two finished supervising the hanging of the framed calligraphy at the exhibition, they were about to lock up and leave.

The moment Qiao Yiming invited Song Xingyao to dinner, Song Xingyao couldn't help but stand there, staring at him for a long time, before finally speaking up, "We don't seem to be close enough to have dinner together, do we?"

She doesn't easily refuse others, and besides, their relationship wasn't good before; in fact, it could be described as somewhat unpleasant.

But Qiao Yiming didn't take it seriously. "I know, but aren't you my senior sister now? Besides, what's wrong with having a meal together?"

The natural, zero-distance social interaction in his tone is something that infuriates people all over the world.

"And I've discovered that you do have some abilities. I'm sorry about what happened before; I was too impulsive." She generously glossed over their previous conflict.

Seemingly surprised that the young lady would admit her mistake so directly, she seemed different from the other rich kids she had met before. Remembering what Old Wu said about Qiao Yiming not being a bad person, her sense of rejection lessened.

The next second, she affectionately pulled him into the car. Old Xu respectfully asked where they were going, but Qiao Yiming beat him to it, "To Pinhua Pavilion!"

Seeing Song Xingyao nod, the car slowly started moving. She looked at the interior of the car with a hint of excitement, then said dismissively, "Why did Brother Fu give you this car to drive? It's not impressive at all, but it does match your temperament. It's so boring."

Her unrestrained words seemed to imply that the target of her criticism wasn't even in the car, and then she launched into a series of outrageous remarks.

“I saw you writing that day, and I don’t know why, but you seemed very calm. I think my grandfather was right, writing really can make people calm.”

"By the way, Song Xingyao, you asked me before if I liked Brother Fu, and now I understand—I don't like him at all. He's very capable; even my brother thinks he's good. He's decisive and efficient, and he hasn't relied on his family's influence to get where he is today, but..."

The second half of the sentence was about to slip out, but her mind pulled her back in time. She originally wanted to say: "But he has really bad taste in women. He actually found a green tea bitch before." But then she thought, wouldn't that include Song Xingyao in the insult?

"Well... anyway, I don't like him. I just think he's amazing and he's my idol."

Song Xingyao looked at her, not wanting to know what the second half of her sentence was, but just feeling that because of her noisy chatter in the car, the journey had indeed been shortened a lot.

"And you absolutely cannot lose to that Fu Yao. That woman clearly still has feelings for Brother Fu. Don't let her steal him away. I hate those pretentious women the most; they annoy me to death."

Old Xu, sitting in the front seat, overheard Qiao Yiming discussing the young master's ex-girlfriend in front of his young mistress and couldn't help but think: What kind of nonsense is this... He silently mourned for the young master who wasn't present for three seconds.

Qiao Yiming wanted to say something, but the car had already stopped in front of Pinhua Pavilion. She excitedly pulled Song Xingyao out of the car, "The chef here is newly hired. When we were doing a tasting, my brother thought I was doing nothing all day, so he called me over. His desserts are really delicious. Let's go!"

The two did not choose to sit in a private room. Pinhua Pavilion is a high-end restaurant, and even during mealtimes, the main hall is not noisy.

The air is filled with the fragrance of flowers and fruits, a delightful aroma that is not cloyingly sweet.

Qiao Yiming ordered a table full of dishes from the menu, but Song Xingyao interrupted her, "Don't order anymore, it's just the two of us, we can't finish it all."

"No problem, if we can't finish it, I can have him deliver it to my brother's company. We can have it for afternoon tea."

...

Finally, on the fifth attempt to speak, Song Xingyao snatched the menu from her hand, saying, "That's enough, that's all."

Qiao Yiming pouted: "What, are you trying to save me money?"

“You’re not short of money. I’m just worried you’ll eat too much and then keep talking all the way.” Song Xingyao said helplessly.

"Tch, can't I even talk? I just love to talk! My family is too busy to come home, and no one talks to me. The servants are too afraid to talk to me, so I have to go out and pay someone to talk to me. Anyway, they don't care about me."

He spoke as he casually leaned back on the soft cushions of the sofa, looking completely unconcerned.

Seeing her bright smile, but the fleeting loneliness in her eyes did not escape Song Xingyao's notice.

The carefree love and the lack of companionship made her bold and rebellious.

Before long, the table was piled high with dishes. Looking at the food that she didn't know where to start, Song Xingyao looked at Qiao Yiming, who was becoming increasingly guilty.

"...It's okay, don't worry, it won't be wasted. I'll have him pack up the rest and send it to my brother's place right now, it's lunchtime."

She gave an embarrassed laugh, like a child caught doing something wrong by an adult.

At the dinner table, she was the only one who kept talking non-stop, with Song Xingyao occasionally responding with a word or two.

Suddenly, a jarring voice interrupted their conversation, "Yiming, what a coincidence, what are you doing here?"

The two looked up and saw Fu Yao standing in front of them. Qiao Yiming rolled his eyes without any politeness and said, "What else can we do here? Eat."

Fu Yao was uncomfortable but not annoyed. She ignored Song Xingyao beside her and chatted with Qiao Yiming as if no one else was around.

Qiao Yiming: "I said, didn't you see? We're eating."

"It's you! Xingyao, here for dinner. Are you going to Tiansheng later? I happen to have something to do too, why don't we go together?"

Song Xingyao was suddenly called upon. Looking at the smiling woman in front of her, she put down her cutlery and said, "No, I have to go back to the studio this afternoon."

He seemed completely unconcerned that the woman in front of him was about to visit her husband.

Seeing her calm and indifferent demeanor, Fu Yao knew she wouldn't get anywhere by staying any longer. She forced a smile, said goodbye to the two of them, and left haughtily with the takeout box handed to her by the waiter.
