Chapter 82 Zhuo Wen

Qiao Yiming invited her out this time not only to share gossip about the main characters, but also to go shopping, saying he wanted to buy some clothes specifically to seduce Bai Xiujin.

Every day she goes to the hospital, she has to think of different outfits to wear, and now she's tired of all the clothes in her closet.

Song Xingyao followed her to Jiangcheng's largest shopping district. A woman driven by love is indeed different; she's like she's been injected with adrenaline.

Unable to keep up with her pace, Qiao Yiming wasn't in a hurry. He arranged for Song Xingyao to stay at the previous store while he went to shop next door, repeating this routine with great enjoyment.

Qiao Yiming is a well-known shopaholic, and as the little princess of the Qiao family, everyone in the mall knows her, so the people in the store treat the people she brings with utmost respect.

Some people recognized her as Mrs. Fu, so they specially arranged a lounge for her and treated her well.

Seeing that Qiao Yiming hadn't returned after sitting for almost twenty minutes, Song Xingyao regained some strength and prepared to get up and go look for him.

As I stepped out of the store and looked around, I noticed something lying on the man in front of me. It was brightly reflected by the mall lights and was quite eye-catching.

She called out, but the person seemed not to hear her and continued walking forward. Only then did Song Xingyao drag herself forward a few steps.

Looking down, I saw a silver lock, a vintage style, but its surface was still clean and new, indicating that it had been well taken care of.

Song Xingyao breathed a sigh of relief when she saw him finally stop in front of a shop. At her current speed, she might not be able to catch up with such a grown man...

She slowly squatted down, picked up the things, walked over with them, and patted him on the shoulder.

The man seemed surprised that someone would call him. He turned around and looked somewhat astonished. When he saw that she was pregnant, he took a step back.

She opened her palm toward the man. "This is your stuff, right? I found it behind you just now. I wanted to call out to you, but you didn't seem to hear me."

He touched the pocket of his trench coat, then took the silver lock from her hand and put it into his own.

"Thank you, beautiful girl, this was very important to me. I'm so glad I found it."

Seeing the man's joy at having his money back, Song Xingyao said it was alright and prepared to leave, since it wasn't a big deal after all.

Before he could even turn around, he saw Zhuo Wen extend his hand to greet him. "My name is Zhuo Wen. This silver lock is a keepsake left by my family, so I'm really grateful that you found it and returned it to me. I owe you a huge favor. If you need any help from me, please feel free to contact me."

As he spoke, he took out a business card holder from the breast pocket of his coat, pulled out a black business card with gold lettering, on which was written a string of English names, and below the name was a string of numbers.

Seeing that he was still holding the business card, Song Xingyao reached out and took it from him, saying, "It's just a small matter, you don't need to worry about it."

But Zhuo Wen insisted that this was of great significance to him and that he was deeply indebted to him, so Song Xingyao could not refuse his kindness.

After saying that, she was about to leave when Qiao Yiming came out of the shop and met Song Xingyao's eyes. The next second, Qiao Yiming appeared in front of her as if she were sprinting 100 meters in high heels.

She hooked her arm around Song Xingyao's and said coquettishly, "Didn't I tell you to wait in the store? I went to look for you just now, and the clerk said you left. I was so scared. I thought I was going to die."

Seeing her like this, Song Xingyao's eyes curved slightly, "It's not that exaggerated."

"Of course I did! When I brought you out today, I promised Brother Fu that I would take good care of you. Didn't you see how he saw you off? He practically wanted to keep you tied to his belt and take you everywhere he went. If anything happened to you while you were here, I would be in real danger."

Thinking back on Fu Siming's recent behavior, it was indeed exactly as she described; he seemed overly anxious.

She then remembered to ask Qiao Yiming, "So, how are your results?"

"Of course, it was a very fruitful harvest. I originally wanted to invite you to come and see, but seeing how tired you are with your pregnant belly, I decided to have them pack everything up and deliver it to your home. That should be enough."

After saying that, she frowned again, "Let's go see Master. He hasn't answered my calls for the past few days since the announcement. His phone is always off. My grandfather also told me to go and check on him."

The two walked and talked, while Zhuo Wen stood by the stairs watching their interaction. He only went downstairs after they had walked far away.

When the car arrived at Mr. Wu's studio, it was discovered that it was exactly the same as before, with no changes whatsoever; the clean ground was spotless, without even a single fallen leaf.

I pushed open the office door, but there was no one there.

Qiao Yiming called out twice before Old Wu finally came out from behind the Buddhist hall.

The prayer beads were still wrapped around his hand and hadn't been put down when he placed them on the table, making a dull, heavy sound.

"Master, why aren't you answering the phone? My senior sister and I were so worried!" she complained playfully.

Old Wu's face remained unchanged, and he let out a clear laugh as before, "You silly girl, I thought you were secretly happy that your grandfather sent you here and you didn't have to work anymore. There have been too many calls from the media lately, so I simply turned off my phone. Song girl, you too, your belly is so big, and you're still running around with Xiao Qiao girl."

I greeted them one by one, but there was no extra emotion in my words.

Song Xingyao hesitated, but ultimately remained silent.

Seeing her expression, Old Wu said to her, "Don't worry about me. I just feel that at my age, I really don't need to work so hard. I plan to take a good rest and enjoy my retirement. It would be nice to occasionally drink tea and play chess like other old men. As for you two, you can come and go as you like. How could I easily expel my disciples?"

After he finished speaking, he laughed twice. Hearing this explanation, Song Xingyao knew that Old Wu had his own considerations, so she didn't want to say anything more and obediently nodded.

Then the three of them spent a long time asking questions about the child in Song Xingyao's belly.

Seeing Qiao Yiming so excited, Old Wu jokingly asked her if she also wanted to be promoted to a higher generation soon, and asked if she had found a boyfriend and that she must bring him to meet her. This left her speechless and blushing.

Grandma Wu said that her child was practically her great-grandchild, and she even took out a safety amulet from her drawer and insisted on handing it to her.

Song Xingyao couldn't refuse, so she accepted the gift and thanked them.

Later she learned that the safety buckle was originally a first birthday gift that Mr. Wu and his wife had prepared for their grandson, so they never had the chance to give it away.

But little did he know that, in the twists of fate, this thing would return to its original owner.

Seeing Wu Lao's reaction, Qiao Yiming deliberately feigned jealousy and said that if he had a child, he would also want such a grand gift!

This made the three of them laugh, and the previously heavy atmosphere disappeared.
