Chapter 16 Master, once a teacher, always a father.

Chu Yiming shook his head: "No, I won ten games today. I'm just feeling down, but I don't know how to say it."

"What's wrong?"

Seeing that Chu Yiming seemed a little down, Ding Yumin couldn't help but ask him what was wrong.

She played three matches today and came back early to see Ye Wan, so she didn't watch the later matches.

Ding Yumin's voice was gentle, like a soft knife stabbing into Chu Yiming's heart.

He recalled what the girl in yellow had said earlier that day, and his heart felt even heavier.

But he was a man, and he couldn't easily express the pain in his heart, so he stubbornly said, "It's nothing."

Ye Wan heard Chu Yiming say it was nothing and continued eating.

The meticulous Ding Yumin had no intention of letting this go so easily:

"You men are so stubborn! We live in the same courtyard, spend every day together, and can be considered friends. Why can't we have a heart-to-heart talk? Or do you think I'm not good enough to be your friend?"

Chu Yiming certainly didn't think that way, and quickly explained, "Of course not! I... I just feel it's a little embarrassing to say it out loud..."

Ye Wan was engrossed in eating when she heard the word "shameful," and immediately looked up: "Senior brother, you didn't lose face, but you lost your dignity?"

Ding Yumin told Ye Wan to continue eating, and Ye Wan obediently complied.

Ding Yumin continued, "Since you consider us friends, I naturally won't laugh at you. It'll make you feel better if you talk about it, and maybe I can even help you."

Chu Yiming didn't understand what Ding Yumin meant by "friends"; he had never had any friends.

In Moonlit Valley, everyone was an elder, and Ye Wan, who was about the same age as him, was still like this.

He kept all his troubles to himself because he had no one to confide in.

Won't Ding Yumin laugh at him?

Chu Yiming breathed a sigh of relief, as if he had made a great decision: "I... I don't really know where to begin. After the competition today, a woman in yellow stopped me and mocked me for not having a father... I..."

As Chu Yiming spoke, he observed Ding Yumin's expression and noticed that she did not show any disgust; on the contrary, she appeared somewhat serious.

Ding Yumin frowned and asked solemnly, "Who is she?"

Chu Yiming shook his head; he didn't know who the woman was.

Ding Yumin was furious: "You don't even know her, yet she spoke ill of you! That's outrageous!"

Ye Wan must have been full, because she nodded in agreement: "That's right!"

Ding Yumin said, "No way! I can't stand it! If you see her on the field tomorrow, tell me, and I'll give her a piece of my mind! Just because she has a father doesn't mean she's so great!"

Ye Wan nodded again: "That's right!"

Chu Yiming felt a warmth in his heart when he saw Ding Yumin and Ye Wan defending him.

Just then, Su Hanjiang returned and was relieved to see Ye Wan jumping around so energetically.

When Ye Wan saw him, she rushed towards him in a panic, but Su Hanjiang quickly pressed her head down, otherwise Ye Wan would have thrown herself into his arms.

Ye Wan pushed away Su Hanjiang's large hand that was pressing down on her head, and grabbed his sleeve, saying, "Master! You must stand up for my senior brother! Someone is saying he has no father!"

Um?

Based on past experience, Su Hanjiang knew that Ye Wan's words could not be entirely trusted, so he turned to look at his eldest disciple.

Seeing his master looking at him, Chu Yiming felt a lump in his throat and his eyes reddened.

She nodded, looking aggrieved.

Su Hanjiang's face darkened; he was still seething with anger because of Ye Wan's matter.

I visited my newly accepted apprentice today. He's recovering well and has already started practicing. That made me feel a bit better.

Now this group of people is bullying his eldest disciple again.

This clearly shows they don't take him seriously.

Chu Yiming is not Ye Wan; he couldn't possibly have wronged them.

Every time Su Hanjiang returned to the valley, he would teach Chu Yiming.

After each lesson, Chu Yiming would lie on the ground, unable to get up.

Chu Yiming was a crybaby when he was a child, but he has never shown such a wronged expression since he became an adult.

The fact that he didn't have parents was indeed a thorn in his side.

Seeing that Su Hanjiang was angry, Ye Wan decided to add fuel to the fire: "Master, once a teacher, always a father. That person cursing your senior brother for not having a father is a curse for you to die! You must not let her get away with this!"

Ding Yumin said awkwardly, "It's not that serious..."

Su Hanjiang pulled his sleeve back from Ye Wan's hand: "You still know that a teacher for a day is a father for life."

Ye Wan nodded frantically: "Yes, yes."

Su Hanjiang snorted coldly and left.

Chu Yiming felt much better. Ding Yumin was right; talking to a friend about your feelings really does make you feel better.

And because they were friends, Ding Yumin understood him and didn't think he was making a mountain out of a molehill.

Instead, they would stand by his side and defend him.

Chu Yiming decided to go back and recuperate properly so that he could be in the best condition to prepare for the competition in the next two days.

Although he has no father, his master treats him like his own son. From today onwards, why not just treat his master as his own father?

After unilaterally acknowledging her as his father, Chu Yiming gave Ye Wan a few words of advice, telling her not to overexert herself in tomorrow's competition.

He then sincerely thanked Ding Yumin.

Chu Yiming's eyes were sincere and full of tenderness, making Ding Yumin feel a little embarrassed and unable to meet his gaze.

After washing up in the evening, Ye Wan rolled around in bed.

They say that eating too much helps with digestion.

After digesting it, I just sat there listlessly, lost in thought.

Ding Yumin smiled gently; it was so nice to see Ye Wan so carefree.

No, she has her own troubles too.

Last time she said she wanted to smell nice so that Su Hanjiang would let her hug her, which proves that she likes Su Hanjiang.

But today...

Huh?

Ding Yumin suddenly felt like she had misunderstood something: "Wanwan, your sister is asking you, do you like Valley Master Su?"

Ye Wan blinked, then suddenly said mysteriously, "I don't like it, and Sister Mianmian shouldn't like men either."

Ding Yumin froze: "Why?"

Ye Wan stretched out her hand as if to grasp something, and pounded her left chest: "Liking a man is like having your heart stabbed, and you'll be eaten by a monster."

Ding Yumin couldn't understand Ye Wan's words. Could it be that she had been hurt by someone, which was why she said that?

How old is she?

But what about Master Su's matter?

Ding Yumin asked, "Then, if you don't like Valley Master Su, why did you want to hug him?"

"Because he's good-looking!"

Ye Wan's matter-of-fact attitude left Ding Yumin speechless.

Good heavens! If you don't like someone but still want to hug them, isn't that just being a pervert?

Master Su has had a tough time these past few years, acting as both father and mother to his disciples and having to guard against them acting like hooligans.

No wonder it's so unpredictable.

Anyone would go crazy if they got this.

No! Ye Wan is being immature; I must correct her thinking.

That's wrong!

Ding Yumin said, "Ye Wan, let me tell you, this is not allowed. You can only hug someone you like. If you hug someone you don't like, it's irresponsible of you, and you'll get beaten up."
