Chapter 25 Miss Ding is the best

Chu Yiming's serious gaze made Ding Yumin blush.

She awkwardly avoided Chu Yiming's gaze and voiced her unease:

"I... I'm so bad at this, I'm afraid I'll be a burden to you. I know you chose me because we're closer, but you didn't have to. You should have chosen someone better, and I won't blame you."

Ye Wan was playing with Ji Kongmeng when she heard Ding Yumin say that, so she immediately let go of her junior brother.

She took Ding Yumin's hand, her expression quite serious: "Sister Yumin is the best!"

Chu Yiming smiled and said, "Junior sister is right, Miss Ding is the best."

Ding Yumin blushed even her neck, too shy to say anything.

But Duan Xu, oblivious to the situation, chimed in, "Yes! My junior sister is the best!"

Ding Yumin was both happy and embarrassed, and kicked her senior brother.

The room was filled with teenagers laughing and joking without a care in the world.

Only Ji Kongmeng, his face reddened by Ye Wan's pinching, looked meaningfully at Ding Yumin, whose face was flushed with embarrassment.

The two simpletons and the silly Ye Wan couldn't understand the girl's thoughts, but he could.

In the original novel, Ding Yumin had a crush on Zheng Nansheng, and her relationship with Ye Wan was extremely bad.

Although the two lived together, they were at odds with each other every day.

Duan Xu and Chu Yiming's relationship wasn't bad, but because their two families' junior sisters were at odds, they weren't close.

Ding Yumin knew that Chu Yiming liked Ye Wan, and therefore disliked Chu Yiming as well.

When Chu Yiming entered the Monster Forest, he naturally did not choose her, but instead chose Han He, who was stronger.

Duan Xu was also unhappy in Chu Yiming's team.

A rough, unrefined man who never smiles.

Ding Yumin was assigned to a group with weaker members, but there was a youngest cultivator among them.

That young cultivator was only eleven years old. Not only did he disobey orders and act willfully, but he also frequently broke away from the group!

It was simply because the junior cultivator was a celestial cultivator and did not want to associate with a group of demonic cultivators.

That time, Ding Yumin's group had finally found a safe place to hide in order to avoid a high-level demonic beast.

After hiding, they discovered that the little immortal cultivator had run away again.

The other three no longer wanted to look for that little immortal cultivator, but Ding Yumin, being soft-hearted and still worried, decided to go out and search for him anyway.

The young immortal cultivator discovered Zheng Nansheng's whereabouts and wanted to seek refuge with him.

Ding Yumin followed the trail and finally spotted the little immortal cultivator, as well as Zheng Nansheng.

She relaxed for a moment and was about to reveal herself when she was successfully ambushed by the monster.

The monster's fangs pierced through Ding Yumin's abdomen.

Zheng Nansheng discovered that a high-level demonic beast was injuring someone he knew.

Prepare for a joint rescue operation.

Unexpectedly, before they could even get into position, the monster unleashed its power and bit Ding Yumin in two.

Ding Yumin's lower body disappeared completely. She struggled to crawl forward, wanting to get closer to the young man in her heart.

Zheng Nansheng glanced at Ding Yumin and knew that she had no chance of survival.

That monster was a fifth-tier beast, incredibly powerful. Their team alone wasn't confident they could hunt it down.

Moreover, the scene of Ding Yumin being bitten in half was so shocking that everyone was already terrified of this monster.

If we fight now, our chances of winning are almost zero.

Staying any longer would implicate the entire team, so urged by his teammates, Zheng Nansheng resolutely left.

As Ding Yumin watched the young man's departing figure, she felt no resentment, only endless sorrow.

In her last moments before being devoured by the monster, she thought: If there is an afterlife, I will not like him again, nor will I be so kind as to save people again.

Duan Xu noticed Ding Yumin's blood-stained shoes and collapsed to the ground, wailing loudly.

The patterns on the shoes were embroidered by Ding Yumin herself. Her embroidery skills were unmatched, and she usually made all her own clothes and shoes. Duan Xu couldn't possibly have mistaken her for someone else.

Not only shoes, but also some scattered pieces of clothing were on the ground.

Ding Yumin is dead!

After learning the whole story, Duan Xu grabbed Zheng Nansheng by the collar and questioned him:

Why didn't you save her? What right did you have not to save her?

She likes you! Damn it! How could she like a coward like you?!

My junior sister is such a good girl, why didn't you save her?

If even you can't save her, what the hell am I yelling about here for?

I'm just a piece of trash!

In the end, Duan Xu was blaming himself for everything he shouted.

He roared at Zheng Nansheng, just to find an outlet for his anger; the self-blame deep in his heart was causing him great pain.

After this incident, Duan Xu lived with regret for the rest of his life, and his strength never improved further.

The monster then vanished as if into thin air, never to be seen again.

With another month to go before entering the Monster Forest, Ding Yumin took Ye Wan for a stroll in the bustling street outside the Immortal Venerable's Mansion.

It mainly involves buying things like fabrics and face powder.

Because of the Immortal and Demon Assembly, the already bustling streets became even more crowded.

Restaurants and teahouses were packed with people.

The two girls went to several stores and bought some fabrics, but they still couldn't find any face powder they liked.

Given Ye Wan's personality, it's impossible to expect her to tirelessly apply face powder every day.

The easiest way is to select some long-lasting fragrances and put them in your purse to carry with you.

However, most of the long-lasting scents were too strong, and Ding Yumin felt they were not suitable for Ye Wan.

Girls always compare prices before shopping, especially someone as meticulous as Ding Yumin.

It wasn't until the afternoon that they found a quiet and elegant perfume shop.
