Chapter 44 Handing Over the Chief Ring

The overall performance of all cultivators in the Demon Beast Forest has been compiled.

The Presbyterian Church has published the detailed scoring rules.

The average strength of the fifty cultivators is used as a benchmark. Those who hunt monsters with a cultivation level above the average are counted in the assessment.

One point is awarded for a third-order score.

The initial stage of the fourth level is recorded as three points.

The fourth-order intermediate stage is worth five points.

The fourth-tier peak period is worth 20 points.

Fifth-tier peak period, recorded as 50 points.

Only one fifth-tier monster was hunted down, and it was killed by both teams together, so the fifty points are split equally between the two teams.

After Zheng Nansheng went missing, the team did not kill any more monsters.

The scores are calculated as follows: half of the fifth-tier peak-stage monsters (25 points), two fourth-tier mid-stage monsters (10 points), and seven third-tier monsters (7 points), for a total of 42 points.

Chu Yiming's team was in a similar situation; Ye Wan's disappearance also disrupted the team's plans.

The points are also calculated as follows: half of the fifth-tier peak-stage monsters are worth 25 points, one fourth-tier early-stage monster is worth 3 points, and twelve third-tier monsters are worth 12 points, for a total of 40 points.

Luo Lianjiang's team suffered no losses and was also lucky. In addition, Xi Louxue was skilled in beast taming, so they achieved the best results.

The scores are calculated as follows: one peak fourth-tier monster (20 points), two mid-fourth-tier monsters (10 points), two early-fourth-tier monsters (6 points), and ten third-tier monsters (10 points), for a total of 46 points.

In addition, Han He's team has a total score of eighteen points.

The remaining teams scored less than ten points.

Luo Lianjiang's team came in first place overall, and naturally received an extra reward from the Immortal Venerable's Mansion.

However, receiving this reward felt somewhat aggrieved.

Something feels off.

However, luck is also a part of ability; if you're not convinced, you can only go home and burn more incense.

If you are sincere, your prayers will be answered; if they are not, smash the idol!

After burning incense, the monks lamented their bad luck.

I also feel deeply saddened by the passing of this gifted young man.

Zheng Nansheng disappeared for half the time, but was only four points behind the first place.

If he hadn't met with misfortune, how would he have amazed everyone?

After Ye Wan and Zheng Nansheng disappeared, the footage from monitors 07 and 01 went blank, and nothing could be captured at all.

This is the first time such a situation has occurred.

This only shows that the level of danger has exceeded the highest warning line of the Elders' Hall.

Immortal Venerable Zheng Kaiyuan and Grand Elder Fu Jiuzhou decided to go and resolve the matter personally.

No one objected to Su Hanjiang joining, mainly because no one could control him.

It took the three of them quite a bit of trouble to find the wind array at the bottom of the cliff after entering the Monster Forest.

Fu Jiuzhou judged that this wind formation was set up by at least a seventh-level cultivator, and that it would take three people working together to break it.

He was somewhat flattered by his first collaboration with Su Hanjiang, feeling that he had been of some help, yet also that he hadn't been of any help at all.

Zheng Kaiyuan and Su Hanjiang, on the other hand, cooperated very well, as if the two of them were on the same side, and he, this old geezer, was an outsider.

Then, the two of them each held their own children, leaving the old man standing there.

It was incredibly embarrassing.

All procedures for the Immortal-Demon Conference have been completed.

The cultivators from various places left one after another.

However, the Immortal Venerable's Mansion still provides the cultivators with food and lodging for a month, since many cultivators were injured in the Demon Beast Forest.

It might be dangerous to set off immediately.

Ye Wan was really bored, so she wandered around in the new clothes that Ding Yumin had sewn for her.

She broke through her limits shortly after waking up.

Although it did not meet Su Hanjiang's requirements, it greatly exceeded everyone's expectations.

Chu Yiming has also entered the critical moment of sprinting towards the fifth-order Devouring Stage, and Su Hanjiang personally protects him.

Unbeknownst to her, Ye Wan had arrived outside a wall.

The vines of the iris flowers stretched out from inside the wall, tickling one's heart.

The iris flower is bright and charming, with a rich fragrance that is not gaudy.

A gentle breeze blows, but the branches do not shyly hide their faces; instead, they proudly hold their heads high.

Ye Wan felt that the flower had backbone and wanted to pick a few to take back to Ding Yumin.

After making up her mind, she leaped onto the top of the wall.

Just as I was about to pick some flowers, I noticed a large group of people gathered in the courtyard.

In a secluded courtyard of the Immortal Venerable's residence, Li Ruorong, the deputy head of Yueyun Manor, surrounded Zheng Nansheng's door with several disciples.

Zheng Nansheng still looked terrible, and his face was so thin that it was sunken.

Li Ruorong is Li Yueyun's younger brother and also the deputy head of Yueyun Manor.

His cultivation and virtue are not even as good as Li Yueyun's.

Very ordinary, yet very confident.

He had always been critical of Li Yueyun's appointment as the head of the estate.

With Li Yueyun convicted and Zheng Nansheng rendered incapacitated, this presents a golden opportunity for him to turn his life around.

When Elder Qiu Fan, the seventh elder of the Elders' Hall, told him, he still couldn't quite believe it.

And it turned out to be true.

It's like God is on his side.

Seeing that Li Ruorong's visit was ill-intentioned, Zheng Nansheng had no choice but to deal with her cautiously.

"May I ask what brings the Vice Master here?"

Li Ruorong gestured for Qin Mu to speak.

Qin Mu responded obsequiously, then switched to an arrogant and haughty demeanor:

“Junior Brother Zheng, Li Yueyun has been convicted, so it’s time to change the position of manor lord. It can’t remain vacant forever.”

In your current state, I'm afraid you can no longer remain the chief.

"Why don't you hand over the chief ring?"

Qin Mu's face still bore the marks of the beating Chu Yiming had inflicted a few days prior, making him look quite comical.

In just a few days, he began to address his master by his given name.

Such manners and refinement are truly admirable!

Ma Wei was furious. On the day Chu Yiming beat Qin Mu up, he had even pleaded for Qin Mu's life.

Looking back now, it feels like I swallowed a fly.

"It's true what they say, a tiger fallen into the plains is bullied by dogs! You used to call me 'Chief' so affectionately, but now that my senior brother has fallen on hard times, you're calling me 'Junior Brother'?"
