Chapter 53: Birdsong and Flowers
Chi Muzhen's ears were almost callused from hearing this, and she said calmly, "Don't worry, I know exactly where I stand in your heart."
The two of them didn't speak anymore, and a suffocating silence spread in the living room.
Chi Muzhen stood up and looked at Huo Yunting and said, "I'm going to clean up the kitchen and order takeout later. What do you want to eat?"
"Whatever, I'll go to the study to work first."
After Huo Yunting left, Chi Muzhen cleaned up the kitchen and picked out a takeout restaurant she liked. After placing the order, she sat in the living room playing with her phone while waiting for the food to be delivered.
In less than an hour, the takeaway arrived. Chi Muzhen set the table and went to the study to call Huo Yunting to eat.
After seeing the dishes on the table, Huo Yunting's face became extremely ugly.
"Chi Muzhen, did you do this on purpose?!"
Chi Muzhen had just picked up the bowl when she looked at him puzzledly, "What do you mean?"
"You know I can't eat spicy food, yet you still order so many spicy dishes."
Chi Muzhen loves spicy food. She knew that Huo Yunting had a bad stomach, so she only cooked light dishes to take care of him.
She raised her eyebrows and said calmly, "So didn't I order stir-fried vegetables and steamed eggs for you?"
When I asked him just now, he said it didn't matter, but now he's being picky. He's so hard to please!
Huo Yunting pursed his lips tightly, his eyes full of coldness.
Every time Chi Muzhen picked up a piece of food with her chopsticks, Huo Yunting's gaze on her became colder.
A few minutes later, Chi Muzhen put down her chopsticks helplessly, looked at Huo Yunting and said, "Just make do with it today. I'll find an aunt to cook for you tomorrow."
After a moment of silence, Huo Yunting nodded reluctantly.
After finishing the meal and cleaning up, Huo Yunting looked at her calmly, "I want to take a shower. Come and help me."
Chi Muzhen's expression changed, and she looked at him in disbelief and said, "Can't you wash it yourself?!"
Seeing the resistance and disgust in her eyes, Huo Yunting's face darkened and he said coldly: "Do you think I can wash myself in my current state?"
Chi Muzhen pursed her lips and hesitated for a moment before speaking reluctantly: "Okay then."
Pushing Huo Yunting into the bathroom, Chi Muzhen began to feel troubled again.
"Can you take off your clothes by yourself? I'll go get you some water first!"
After saying that, as if afraid that Huo Yunting would refuse, she hurried to the bathtub, turned her back to Huo Yunting and started running the water.
Ten minutes later, Chi Muzhen turned around and saw Huo Yunting had only taken off his shirt. She couldn't help but frown, "Why don't you take off your pants?"
"I can't take it off by myself, please help me."
Chi Muzhen: "..."
If she had known that she would experience such an embarrassing situation, she would never have agreed to come and take care of Huo Yunting.
Seeing that Chi Muzhen didn't move, Huo Yunting gradually lost his patience.
"You've already seen it, what's there to be shy about?"
Chi Muzhen bit her lower lip and said stubbornly, "Who told you I was shy?"
Huo Yunting's eyes flashed with a hint of teasing, and he said calmly: "Since you are not shy, come and help me."
Chi Muzhen walked slowly to Huo Yunting's side and said hesitantly: "How about I find you a male nurse now? I'm not very good at giving others a bath, and I prefer a male..."
Before she could finish her words, Huo Yunting grabbed her wrist.
The next second, he pulled Chi Muzhen into his arms.
Chi Muzhen was startled and quickly put her hand against his chest.
Feeling his strong heartbeat and explosive muscles, Chi Muzhen's face turned red instantly.
Although she had been married to Huo Yunting for three years, they had only had sex on their wedding night.
So she can be said to have a blank slate when it comes to matters between men and women.
Noticing her stiffness, Huo Yunting held her hand and pulled it down, his voice a little hoarse, "I'll teach you."
His palm was very hot, and the heat seemed to spread through Chi Muzhen's hand to every part of her body, causing her to tremble unconsciously.
Suddenly, I felt a cold touch on the palm of my hand.
“Click!”
The buckle of Huo Yunting's belt loosened, and Chi Muzhen's heart skipped a beat unconsciously.
"Help me get the belt out."
Noticing that the atmosphere between the two was becoming increasingly ambiguous, Chi Muzhen frowned.
Seeing that she didn't move, Huo Yunting's voice with a hint of laughter sounded above his head.
"You're not really shy, are you? If you are, just admit it. I won't laugh at you."
Chi Muzhen frowned, looked up and met Huo Yunting's teasing gaze, feeling a surge of shame and anger at being exposed.
“Who’s shy?”
As she spoke, she pulled out Huo Yunting's belt and threw it on the ground. Then she stood up and took off his pants in no time.
"You don't need to take off your underwear, right?"
"If you're willing, I have no objection."
Chi Muzhen sneered, "I'm afraid of getting stye."
Because Huo Yunting's injuries had not yet healed completely, he could only wipe his body and could not take a shower.
While wiping his body, Chi Muzhen was obviously much calmer.
After wiping her body, she wrung out the towel and threw it into Huo Yunting's arms, saying calmly, "Wipe it yourself. I'll wait for you outside. Call me when you're done."
Huo Yunting didn't make things difficult for her. After all, if he really pushed her to the limit, with her current personality, it was possible that she would just leave.
After cleaning up for Huo Yunting, Chi Muzhen was already sweating all over.
The feeling of being sweaty all over made her feel a little uncomfortable. She took her clothes and went to the bathroom to take a shower. When she came out, Huo Yunting was on the phone.
Chi Muzhen wiped her hair half dry with a towel and waited until Huo Yunting finished his call before starting to blow-dry her hair.
It was already past ten o'clock in the evening when she finished. She took out two quilts from the closet and planned to sleep on the floor.
Seeing her actions, Huo Yunting's eyes flashed with coldness, and he gritted his teeth and said, "Chi Muzhen, put the quilt back and sleep on the bed!"
Chi Muzhen frowned and looked at him, "Mr. Huo, we are getting divorced, it is not appropriate for us to sleep in the same bed again."
"What do you think I can do to you now that I'm like this?!"
Chi Muzhen pursed her lips and said, "That's not what I meant."
"What do you mean?! Don't worry, I'm not interested in you!"
"It has nothing to do with you. I'm used to sleeping alone, and I can't sleep with someone next to me."
Huo Yunting looked at her coldly, "Didn't you sleep soundly at the resort last time?"
Hearing this, Chi Muzhen's eyes flashed with displeasure. "That was forced, Mr. Huo. I agreed to live in the same room with you, which is already my limit. If you ask for more, I can only sleep next door!"
After saying that, she ignored the coldness emanating from Huo Yunting and spread the quilt on the ground.
After making his bed on the floor, Chi Muzhen turned off the lights and went to sleep.
A dreamless night.
The next morning, when Chi Muzhen woke up, Huo Yunting was already up and sitting on the bed with a sullen face. He didn't say anything when he saw her, and it was obvious that he was still angry about what happened last night.
Chi Muzhen didn't care about him. After changing his clothes, she pushed him to the bathroom to wash up.
By the time she finished preparing breakfast for him, it was almost time for Chi Muzhen to go out. After washing up, she didn't have time to make breakfast for Huo Yunting.
"I'll order breakfast for you later. Auntie should be here to cook at noon."
Huo Yunting had a cold face and said "hmm" expressionlessly.
She quickly walked to the entrance and changed her shoes while saying to Huo Yunting, "I'm going to work first. Call me if you have anything."
As soon as I walked out of the villa, I met Ko Ning, and there was a man in a nurse's uniform standing next to him.
Seeing Chi Muzhen, he smiled and said, "Miss Chi, are you going to work?"
"Well, is this the caregiver you found for Mr. Huo?"
Ke Ning nodded. "This is the caregiver who worked for Mr. Huo when he was in the hospital. You can just call him Xiao Li. Xiao Li took a leave of absence yesterday because of something at home. I brought him here today. Don't worry, he will come after you get to work and leave before you get off work. He won't affect you."
Chi Muzhen greeted Xiao Li, then looked at Ke Ning and asked, "Does the nurse usually help Mr. Huo take a bath?"
She didn't want to experience the embarrassing scene of last night again.
"There is this service, but Mr. Huo doesn't like others to help him take a bath, so he has been bathing by himself in the hospital during this period. Xiao Li just helps to run the water."
