Chapter 612: Unattainable

Chapter 612: Unattainable

On the other side, President Jin Yue’s office.

Tang Ruze and Huo Tianyi sat opposite each other.

"Are you sure Cheng Shumin and Huo Jinsong will really help us?"

He looked at Huo Tianyi with suspicion. After all, he had asked Huo Tianyi to capture them from abroad and lock them up in the basement, and the two had suffered a lot.

If it were him, let alone helping the other person, he would probably want to tear the other person into pieces.

"Of course, my uncle also knew that I was the only one who could carry on the Huo family's legacy. Cheng Shumin, after learning that Huo Yunting was not her biological son, hated him to the core. It took me almost no effort to convince them."

"But I don't completely trust them either. I've hired a few people to monitor them. There will definitely be no problems, don't worry!"

Hearing this, Tang Ruze smiled slightly and said slowly, "Don't let me down. You should know very well what happens to those who are useless to me."

A hint of fear flashed in Huo Tianyi's eyes, and he quickly lowered his head and said, "Don't worry, Mr. Tang, I will definitely do what you asked me to do."

It was an hour later when Huo Yunting and Huo Yiyi arrived at the hospital.

When Cheng Shumin saw Huo Yunting, the expression on her face was no longer as excited as before, but replaced by calmness.

"Sit down."

Huo Yunting sat down beside the bed and looked at her coldly.

"What do you want from me?"

Cheng Shumin frowned and said unhappily, "I'm your mother. I need Yiyi to pass on the message when I want to see you. Your father and I have been in the hospital for such a long time, and you haven't come to see us. Do you still have eyes for us as your parents?!"

"If I remember correctly, when you went to Country M three years ago, you said you wanted to sever ties with me and refused to acknowledge me as your son."

Cheng Shumin's face changed, and she felt a little lacking in confidence.

"That was all in the past. If you hadn't saved us this time, your dad and I might still be locked up in the basement. And with Yiyi's guidance, I've let go of the past. Let's just pretend that it never happened and get along well from now on, okay?"

Seeing her tone soften, Huo Yunting's eyes flashed with surprise, and then he nodded and said, "Okay, but we can't go back to the way it was before."

Cheng Shumin would no longer care about him as much as before, and he would not continue to play the role of loving mother and filial son with her as if nothing had happened. Just getting along peacefully like this was the best that could be achieved between the two of them.

After sitting in the ward for a while, Huo Yunting got up and prepared to return to the company.

Huo Yiyi chased him out and stopped him, saying, "Brother, we are all family. Since Mom has already given in, you shouldn't always have such a cold face. If someone doesn't know you, they might think someone owes you millions!"

Looking down at her innocent face, Huo Yunting nodded expressionlessly, "I understand."

After watching Huo Yunting leave, Huo Yiyi turned around and returned to the ward.

"Mom, have you really figured it out?"

Cheng Shumin gave her an unpleasant look. "What do you mean? Are you doubting me?"

"No, I just think you changed too quickly. I tried to persuade you several times before, but you refused to accept my brother, didn't you?"

Cheng Shumin curled her lips. "That was before. You also said that he rescued us and gave your father and me such good treatment. I shouldn't have held on to that matter. After all, it wasn't his fault. If anyone should be blamed, it should be your father!"

Hearing this, Huo Yiyi finally breathed a sigh of relief and said with a smile, "I'm glad you can figure it out."

After all, she still hopes that her brother and parents can get along well with each other instead of drifting apart.

Cheng Shumin was about to speak when the door of the ward suddenly opened and Huo Jinsong, dressed in a hospital gown, walked into the ward with a frown.

"You're looking for Yun Ting?!"

Looking at Huo Jinsong's eyes that were obviously filled with anger, Huo Yiyi quickly stood up and said, "Dad, Mom accepts me."

Huo Jinsong looked at Huo Yiyi and frowned, "Don't worry about this matter. It has nothing to do with you."

After saying that, his cold gaze shifted to Cheng Shumin's face, "What on earth do you want to do?!"

Cheng Shumin ignored him and said to Huo Yiyi, "Yiyi, go out first. I'll talk to your dad."

Huo Yiyi didn't want to leave, but at Cheng Shumin's insistence, she walked out of the ward.

She walked to the stairwell and immediately called Huo Yunting, "Brother, Dad just came to see Mom, and they looked like they were about to have a fight. What should I do?"

There was silence on the other end of the phone for a few seconds before Huo Yunting's cold voice came over.

"Don't worry, they will handle it themselves. I still have work to do, so I won't tell you anymore."

"Hey, brother, wait a minute..."

There was a beeping sound from the phone, and Huo Yiyi couldn't help but roll her eyes.

In the ward.

After Huo Yiyi left, he fell into a stagnation.

After a full minute of silence, Huo Jinsong finally spoke in a cold voice: "Shumin, I've already explained to you that what happened back then was my fault and had nothing to do with Yun Ting. If you really team up with Tianyi to deal with Yun Ting, the last bit of mother-son love between you will really be over!"

Cheng Shumin sneered, staring at Huo Jinsong with anger in her eyes, "I really should blame you. If you had told me the truth, I would have raised Huo Yunting, but you lied to me for so many years. Do you know how I looked forward to him growing up, how I fantasized about his wedding, and how I thought about raising his children in the future?!"

Huo Jinsong indeed felt guilty about this matter.

He sighed, "I had no choice but to conceal his identity at the time... Over the past few years, I thought you had let it go..."

"Just let it go?!"

Cheng Shumin's eyes were red. "How can I let it go?! Whenever I think about my son dying shortly after birth, and how I treated someone else's child as my own for so many years, my heart aches as if it's about to break. If you don't want to help me, just stay aside quietly, or tell Huo Yunting about my plan."

"But if you choose the second one, it will be the end between us."

As she finished speaking, the ward fell into silence again.

After an unknown amount of time, Huo Jinsong finally lowered his head and said slowly, "I can't persuade you. It's up to you... I just hope you don't regret it."

"I won't!"

Huo Jinsong said nothing more and turned and left.

It was not until Cheng Shumin was alone in the ward that she covered her face and cried helplessly.

She also didn't know how to eliminate the frustration and anger in her heart. Perhaps only by heading towards destruction could she let go completely.

Soon, Cheng Shumin and Huo Jinsong were discharged from the hospital.

At her strong request, she and Huo Jinsong moved into a villa owned by Huo Yunting in the capital, and she also asked Huo Yiyi and Huo Yunting to come back every day to have dinner with them.

Huo Yunting agreed. Huo Yiyi didn't have a job now, so she had no objection.
