Chapter 992: Joining the Group Early
Zhen Yan was busy in the kitchen, planning to make herself a simple and nutritious dinner.
While she was washing and cutting vegetables, her phone beeped. She thought it was Xiao Muzhen replying to her message, so she quickly wiped her hands and went to check. Sure enough, it was Xiao Muzhen: "Yanyan, we must be there on time tomorrow night. Yueyao was so excited to hear that she could see you that she danced with joy and kept babbling your name."
Zhen Yan raised the corner of her mouth and quickly replied, "I really want to see you guys too. I'll be waiting for you tomorrow. I've already reserved a window seat."
After putting down the phone, Zhen Yan felt inexplicably relaxed, as if all her fatigue had been swept away by the upcoming reunion.
After dinner was ready and she had a simple meal, she went to bed early, looking forward to meeting him the next day.
The next evening, Zhen Yan arrived at the restaurant early. Shortly after she sat down, she saw Xiao Muzhen and Huo Yunting walk in, with Huo Yunting holding Yue Yao in his arms.
When Yueyao saw Zhen Yan, her eyes lit up instantly. She twisted her body vigorously in Huo Yunting's arms, waving her hands at Zhen Yan, and mumbling incoherently, "Zhen...Auntie Zhen Yan."
Zhen Yan quickly stood up and walked over to take Yue Yao from Huo Yunting's hands. She kissed her rosy cheek and said, "My little darling, long time no see. You've gained weight again. I can hardly hold you anymore!"
Xiao Muzhen came over with a smile and joked, "This kid has been gesturing to us along the way, asking to see you. It really made her anxious."
After everyone was seated, the waiter began to serve the food.
The dining table was filled with delicious food. Yueyao sat in a children's dining chair, looking at the dishes on the table curiously, and from time to time she looked at Zhen Yan, making some cute syllables in a baby voice, as if sharing her little world, which made everyone laugh.
Xiao Muzhen looked at Zhen Yan and asked with concern, "Is this role you took on stressful? Did Lin Ruoxuan cause you any trouble?"
Zhen Yan shrugged and said nonchalantly, "There will definitely be trouble, but I'm not someone to be trifled with. Besides, I have the company backing me up, so I just need to focus on performing well."
Huo Yunting also smiled and said, "Zhen Yan, if you need any help, just ask. Don't be polite with us."
Zhen Yan nodded gratefully: "With you guys here, I feel much more at ease."
The meal was warm and enjoyable, and time passed quietly in laughter and joy.
After paying the bill, we walked out of the restaurant. The streets were ablaze with lights at night, and a gentle breeze blew past, bringing a touch of coolness.
Yueyao nestled in Huo Yunting's arms, staring at Zhen Yan, her little hands stretched out towards her, mumbling, "Auntie...Auntie..."
Full of reluctance.
Zhen Yan leaned closer and gently held Yue Yao's hand: "When Auntie finishes filming, I will come to see Yue Yao and bring you lots of gifts, okay?"
Yueyao nodded, not quite understanding, with a sweet smile on her face.
Xiao Muzhen looked at Zhen Yan and reminded her, "Take good care of yourself when you join the crew for filming. Send us a message when you have time."
Zhen Yan's eyes reddened slightly, and she nodded vigorously: "I will, and you too."
Watching the backs of Xiao Muzhen and his family of three gradually disappear into the distance, Zhen Yan took a deep breath, turned around and walked in the opposite direction.
Just as she turned around and took a few steps, her phone rang urgently. It was her agent, Zheng Qian, calling: "Yanyan, I just received a notice that the crew's filming schedule has been moved up. You have to join the crew early tomorrow morning. Hurry and pack your luggage tonight. I'll send you the details later."
