Meeting you was destiny.
On October 1, 2023, dark clouds loomed overhead, and torrential rain poured down.
Xu Qingyun was dressed in a pure black cheongsam, and was soaked through when she arrived at the cemetery.
"Grandpa, Xiaoyun is back." She tried her best to keep her voice from trembling.
When her father, Xu Sen, saw her, he immediately rushed up in anger and slapped her across the face.
Xu Qingyun stepped back slightly.
Xu Sen missed his target with his slap and became even more furious: "You heartless ingrate, you're still alive!"
"If you hadn't pushed your grandfather, he wouldn't have been bedridden for ten years!"
"I shouldn't have kicked you out of the Xu family ten years ago; I should have just killed you, you beast!"
Stepmother Liang Wanrou quickly pulled him back: "Ah Sen, Yunyun was still young back then, maybe she didn't mean it."
"You just keep spoiling her! Jiajia saw it with her own eyes, how can you wrong her?" Xu Sen roared, bursting into tears.
Liang Wanrou hugged Xu Qingyun while crying: "Yunyun, it's all your sister's fault. She shouldn't have told the truth back then, which caused you to be kicked out of the house at such a young age."
"Over the years, I have been living in fear that you are not doing well and that I will not be able to face your deceased mother."
"Now that you're back alive, I can finally relax. It's all worth it for her to entrust you to me before she died."
Xu Qingyun slowly pushed Liang Wanrou away: "Don't touch me, you're dirty."
"You beast! Who are you calling dirty?!" Xu Sen exploded again.
Xu Jia also cried, "How could you say that about my mom? She's my mom..."
Snap!
Xu Qingyun slapped Xu Jia across the face, and even in the pouring rain, the crisp sound could be heard.
Xu Jia was stunned: "You...you actually dared to hit me?"
Xu Qingyun's voice was flat: "Xu Jia, there will be time to resolve the grudges between you and me. Don't disturb my grandfather's peace now."
Xu Jia cried and hugged Xu Sen's arm: "Dad, look at my sister. Ten years ago, she pushed Grandpa down the stairs, and now she wants to kill me. How can she be so cruel?"
Xu Sen pointed at Xu Qingyun's nose and shouted angrily, "Get out! Get out of here! You're no longer a member of the Xu family!"
Xu Qingyun looked at him coldly: "It's not up to you."
"Guards, drag this beast out! If she doesn't leave, break her legs!"
The bodyguards immediately stepped forward, but just then, a group of people arrived in the rain.
At the very front was a very tall and imposing man, with six bodyguards holding umbrellas for him and protecting him.
The man walked up to her and held his umbrella over Xu Qingyun's head.
"No need, thank you." Having never met this person before, Xu Qingyun didn't want any further interaction.
The man said in a deep voice, "As long as I'm here, no one can bully you."
Xu Qingyun frowned slightly. What did that mean?
She couldn't help but scrutinize the man. He had sharp eyebrows, bright eyes, a straight nose, thin lips, and well-defined features with smooth lines. He was extremely handsome and noble.
She remembered him; he was Ji Hanchen, the ninth master of the Ji family.
Her boyfriend, Ji Lun, is the only son of the eldest son of the Ji family. He has shown her a photo of himself with the ninth son of the Ji family.
It turns out that her boyfriend was afraid she would be bullied, so he specially asked his uncle to stand up for her.
None of the Xu family members knew Ji Hanchen, but his powerful aura as someone in a superior position made them dare not act rashly.
Xu Jia, in particular, absolutely hated him.
Liang Wanrou, however, pulled her aside and whispered, "Don't be impulsive. You're about to marry into the Ji family. When we find out who this bastard is, we'll make him pay."
Xu Jia finally calmed down.
That's right, the Ji family is at the very top of the pyramid of wealthy families in Beijing. Now that she's become the young mistress of the Ji family, why would she be afraid of that bitch Xu Qingyun and that wild man who appeared out of nowhere?
Ji Hanchen was ordered by the old man to pay respects to the Xu family patriarch on his behalf and to take a look at his fiancée.
He found the arranged marriage between his childhood friends utterly ridiculous and had no intention of taking it seriously; he just wanted to go through the motions and then go back home.
Unexpectedly, I met the girl I had been searching for for six years again.
Ji Hanchen whispered to his assistant, "Give me her information within thirty minutes."
**
After the funeral, Xu Qingyun was the last to leave.
Ji Hanchen didn't leave; he sat in the car watching Xu Qingyun's graceful figure from behind.
I only looked away when she slowly disappeared into the rain.
She's different from how she was six years ago.
She became even slimmer and taller, with a more curvaceous figure, and the simple cheongsam brought out a unique charm in her.
Her face was exquisite; even without any makeup, she was still stunningly beautiful and captivating, a girl whose beauty was so striking that one couldn't look away.
Ji Hanchen was certain that she was the girl who had saved his life in London six years ago.
Raising his wrist to glance at his expensive watch, Ji Hanchen frowned and asked, "Still haven't found anything?"
Chiang Hsun broke out in a cold sweat; it had only been twenty-five minutes.
Why is Mr. Ji in such a hurry? He has never been interested in any woman.
bite.
The tablet finally beeped with a message notification. Jiang Xun immediately opened it and handed it over: "President Ji, please take a look."
Ji Hanchen reached out with an air of superiority, took the tablet, and carefully examined it.
Xu Qingyun, an adopted daughter of the Xu family, is 22 years old. She was kicked out of the Xu family ten years ago and has been missing ever since.
But in fact she went to England to study at Notre Dame Wood Girls' School, and later enrolled in the Cambridge Department of Archaeology.
Ji Hanchen suddenly smiled; it really was her.
Six years ago, he was being hunted by assassins near St. Wood Girls' School.
He was seriously injured at the time, but a young girl who looked like a high school student managed to scare away the assassin with her calm and wisdom.
As she left, she held the umbrella over the wound and calmly said, "Someone will come to rescue you soon, don't be afraid."
