Shen Luo angrily let go of her hand.
He slammed the door shut, but didn't actually leave. Instead, he quietly returned to the sofa.
Shen Luo didn't understand what he was thinking at the time. Later, after thinking about it carefully, he realized that it was definitely not because he wanted to do something with Xia Chu, but because it was snowing heavily outside and he had drunk a lot of alcohol, so he didn't want to cause any trouble.
That's all.
Once she was sure Xia Chu was asleep, Shen Luo returned to Xia Chu's side.
He lay on his side, propping his cheek up with one hand, coldly watching the woman sleeping soundly in the bed.
As always, when Xia Chu is asleep, she curls up into a ball like a cat.
It was getting colder outside and snowing heavily, so Shen Luo deliberately turned the air conditioner down a lot. As a result, Xia Chu would subconsciously look for a warm place and unknowingly snuggle into Shen Luo's arms.
Shen Luo sneered inwardly; though she said no, her body said no.
He held Xia Chu tighter and fell into a deep sleep.
Everything was fine until Xia Chu saw Shen Luo embracing her in the morning. That heartless woman immediately turned cold and warned him, "Shen Luo, I hope there won't be a next time! Since we're getting a divorce, let's go our separate ways and not leave each other alone. I don't like lingering ties."
Shen Luo was fast asleep when Xia Chu provoked her, and she sneered angrily, "Xia Chu, who do you think you are? I've been giving you face, allowing you to provoke me again and again?"
"Shen Luo, it's not that I'm provoking you, it's that you're pestering me. If you keep doing this, I'll think you've already forgotten your white moonlight and fallen in love with me." Xia Chu was very calm, so calm that there wasn't a trace of emotion in her voice.
Shen Luo scoffed, "Are you still asleep? Me, falling in love with a woman like you?"
"Then let's sign the divorce agreement and be free." Xia Chu took out the divorce agreement from the drawer right away.
Shen Luo realized that Xia Chu was determined to get a divorce, and that she had even brought divorce papers with her to Nancheng. He was instantly enraged, gritting his teeth menacingly, "Fine! Fine! It's just a divorce, isn't it?! I'll grant your wish! You'll regret it!"
After signing her name, Shen Luo threw the divorce agreement in Xia Chu's face.
"As you wish, divorce!"
The last two words were almost squeezed out from between Shen Luo's teeth.
After that, Shen Luo slammed the door and left, going to Ji Hanchen's place.
He knew that Xu Qingyun and Xia Chu had a good relationship, but he didn't intend to ask her to do anything. He just wanted her to advise Xia Chu to stop making trouble!
Just then, Xu Qingyun's phone rang; it was a group video call.
She went to the next room to answer the call.
Xia Chu chuckled lightly, "Shen Luo has finally signed the divorce papers."
Qin Shuang yelled, "Holy crap, why is Shen Gou being so agreeable this time?! Did he get his brain caught in a door? Wasn't he determined to stay by my side no matter what?"
Xia Chu smiled bitterly, "I probably embarrassed him and hurt his pride as a man."
Qin Shuang gave a thumbs up, "You're awesome, Sister Chu Chu! Congratulations on becoming single again! I'm already planning to introduce you to my brother. He's super handsome, and so refined and considerate. He's way better than Chen Gou!"
Xia Chu sighed helplessly, "Don't joke about me and Brother Qin. What if Brother Qin only sees me as a little sister?"
Qin Shuang rolled her eyes. "Give me a break. Do you think my brother is some kind of living Buddha? Have you ever seen him treat any woman this well? I think he has a crush on you."
Xia Chu's face flushed. "Qin Shuang, you're getting more and more outrageous."
Qin Shuang shrugged. "If you don't believe me, there's nothing I can do. I'll just let my brother pursue her himself. I can't exactly have him pursue my future sister-in-law, can I? Hey, Xiaoyun, why aren't you saying anything?"
Xu Qingyun glanced in the direction of the living room and said softly, "Chen Gou is here."
She originally meant to say "Brother Chen is here," but she slipped up and said the wrong thing.
Shen Luo must have heard it.
However, Xu Qingyun didn't really intend to avoid Shen Luo; otherwise, she would have closed the door and put on her headphones.
Although Shen Luo is righteous, she is cold and ruthless towards Sister Chu Chu, and she knows this clearly.
Shen Luo's face had turned as black as the bottom of a pot. If there had been a man in the room, he would have rushed in and beaten him up!
He originally thought that Xia Chu's constant threats of divorce were a ploy to get him, a new trick to catch him, or something she was doing for the old man at home.
But Shen Luo never expected that Xia Chu actually wanted a divorce!
She couldn't wait to share the news of her divorce with her girlfriends!
In the eyes of his friends in early summer, he was worse than a pig or a dog; they even called him "Sinking Dog".
Shen Luo glared at Ji Hanchen, "Ji Hanchen, aren't you going to do anything about this?!"
Ji Hanchen raised an eyebrow. "What do you care? Your ex-wife is the one who's happy, and Lu Chuan's wife is the one calling you a 'sinking dog.' What does it have to do with my Yunyun?"
Shen Luo was speechless. Ji Hanchen spoke so confidently that he was so angry with Ji Hanchen that he forgot that Xu Qingyun had also called him "Shen the dog" earlier.
"What brings you here?" Ji Hanchen got down to business.
Shen Luo said irritably, "I'm not telling you."
Ji Hanchen snorted coldly, "If you don't want to talk, then get lost. If you have a conflict with Xia Chu, go find Xia Chu."
Shen Luo glared at him, her voice cold and deep, "Ye Xiao has been released."
Ji Hanchen raised an eyebrow, "Through Ye Boyun's connections?"
"Yes. There's one more person."
Ji Hanchen's expression was deep and serious as he gave a mocking smile. "Ms. Ren?"
Shen Luo nodded, "We arrived in Nancheng this morning and went straight to the detention center."
Ji Hanchen gave a cold smile, "Her reach is quite far, extending all the way to Nancheng!"
Shen Luo pulled out a cigarette case. "I don't understand her. Is she deliberately going against you? What good will it do you to release Ye Xiao?"
Ji Hanchen said in a sinister tone, "She just wanted to remind me that she has a lot of power now, and can even interfere in things in Nancheng."
