"Yunyun, come and eat something."
Ji Hanchen's soft voice came from the kitchen.
Xu Qingyun gathered her thoughts.
"I made this egg-wrapped tofu myself. I don't know if Yunyun will like it. Try it."
Ji Hanchen scooped up a spoonful and placed it on top of the glistening, plump rice; it looked delicious.
Xu Qingyun lowered her eyes. "Thank you."
She tasted it, and when she looked up again, her usually cool eyes had brightened considerably. "It's delicious."
Ji Hanchen finally breathed a sigh of relief. "I'm glad Yunyun likes it. It's my first time making it, so I was afraid I wouldn't do it well."
Xu Qingyun shook her head, "It's already very good."
The steamed egg custard was smooth and tender, without any honeycomb texture, and the tofu had no beany taste. The sauce on top was savory and salty, just the kind of flavor she liked.
Xu Qingyun had always known that Ji Hanchen could cook, but she never expected him to be such a good cook.
For a moment, she was curious: how could a privileged child born with a silver spoon in his mouth be so down-to-earth?
Before Xu Qingyun could ask, Ji Hanchen stood up and said, "Yunyun, stay home and wait for me. I'm going out for a bit."

Hospital.
Yao Xueying glared angrily at Ji Hanchen, her voice filled with barely suppressed rage: "Ninth Brother, what did you just say?"
Ji Hanchen sat on the sofa, his two incredibly long legs lazily crossed, but the cold aura emanating from him enveloped the entire room, making it so oppressive that it was hard to breathe.
"Has my sister-in-law become deaf at such a young age? Then I'll repeat myself: you and Ji Lun must leave the capital immediately and never come back."
Snap!
Yao Xueying smashed the teacup, trembling with anger. "Why? Ninth Brother, don't go too far!"
"Back then, you forced our family to leave our hometown and we couldn't go back. Now that my daughter and I have just returned to the capital, you want to use the same trick again!"
"Do you really think you can control everything in the capital? Don't forget, although you are the heir, the Ji family is not completely in your hands yet!"
