Chapter 89 Xu Qingyun finally learns her mother's identity

When Leng Shuang saw the person who came, she first shrank back, then immediately suppressed her arrogance and called out sullenly, "Uncle, what brings you to the capital?"

Xu Qingyun also looked at Ye An.

The middle-aged man in front of me was probably in his fifties. He had sharp eyebrows and bright eyes, and his features were very masculine. His black hair was streaked with a few strands of white hair, which was neatly combed back. He exuded a sense of oppressive authority.

Despite his age, Ye An maintains a very good physique. His simple blue shirt paired with black trousers gives him a clean, neat, mature yet understated look.

Just as Xu Qingyun remembered, Ye An was cold, serious, and rarely smiled, making him very unapproachable.

In the past ten years, Ye An has hardly ever smiled at her, even when she broke down several times and Ye An encouraged her.

“Uncle,” Xu Qingyun said.

Upon hearing this, Leng Shuang shrieked, "My mother gave birth to a daughter of mine, so why do you call him uncle?!"

Ye An looked at her sternly, and the coldness in his eyes immediately silenced Leng Shuang.

Then, Ye An walked towards Xu Qingyun, his eyes sharp, "Are you with Ji Hanchen?"

Xu Qingyun frowned slightly. "Is it not allowed?"

"Xiaoyun, do you know about your mother's relationship with the Ji family?"

"If my mother had a grudge against the Ji family, why didn't my uncle stop Ji Lun from pursuing me?" Xu Qingyun pointed out incisively.

Ye An said in a deep voice, "Things are different now than before."

Xu Qingyun's tone was indifferent yet resolute, "I don't see anything different. And why does my uncle never mention that my mother is from the Ye family of Nancheng? Why does he never mention that my mother has an older sister or a younger sister?"

Ye An frowned, glancing at Leng Shuang out of the corner of his eye. "Xiao Yun, come with me."

Just then, Ye Jingnan hung up the phone and returned.

Upon seeing Ye An, he returned the phone to Leng Shuang and said softly, "Auntie is very angry."

Ye An pursed his lips, remained silent for a moment, and then said, "It's alright, this day will come sooner or later."

"Yes." Ye Jingnan nodded, understanding his father's meaning.

Leng Shuang didn't arrogantly raise her head to provoke Ye An just now, not because she was afraid, but because she was listening to Ye An talking to Xu Qingyun.

Even if she were stupid, she would understand that Xu Qingyun's mother was a member of the Ye family.

"Oh, so she's the daughter of the Ye family's illegitimate daughter?!" Leng Shuang shrieked.

Ye An's voice suddenly turned icy cold as he sternly commanded, "Leng Shuang, take back what you said! Also, go to the Ye family's villa immediately and don't come here to disturb Xiao Yun!"

Leng Shuang pointed at herself in disbelief, "You're letting me leave?!"

"Get out!" Ye An roared, his powerful voice echoing throughout the large villa, sending chills down people's spines.

Leng Shuang had never seen her uncle like this before, let alone been scolded so fiercely by Ye An. She was both shocked and frightened.

She was somewhat at a loss, but having been spoiled since childhood, she wasn't allowed to back down, so she kept nodding through tears, "Okay! Okay! Okay! I'll go! I'll go, alright?! I'll go find my godmother!"

"Don't be so smug. My mom will definitely tell Grandpa if she finds out I've been wronged, and Grandpa will definitely teach you a lesson!"

As if she had suffered a great injustice, Leng Shuang ran out crying.

Ye An's face was grim.

Ye Jingnan was a little worried, "Dad, shouldn't we go after him? If we tell Grandpa, he'll definitely be furious."

Ye An said in a deep voice, "She has been completely spoiled. We can't all indulge her like this."

He paused for a moment, then said, "Xiaoyun, come upstairs with me, I want to talk to you about your mother."

Xu Qingyun straightened her expression, nodded, and followed Ye Jingnan upstairs into his study.

"Have a seat," Ye An said, gesturing to the sofa.

Xu Qingyun sat down gently and looked up at him.

Ye An stared at Xu Qingyun for a long time before sighing, "You really look just like Jiajia."

Xu Qingyun didn't say anything.

She knew she looked very much like her mother, and Xu Sen had said so before.

"Your mother is from the Ye family. Back then at the hospital, your maternal grandmother gave birth at the same time as another woman. That woman suffered severe postpartum hemorrhage. Her husband wanted a son, but upon hearing that she had given birth to a daughter and that treating his wife would require a high cost, he angrily ran away."

"The situation was chaotic that day. The nurses switched the two newborn babies. Ye Xiao became the Ye family's daughter, while your mother became an abandoned baby and had to be sent to an orphanage."

"Coincidentally, the orphanage was sponsored by the Ye family, and your mother was beautiful, so she was brought to the Ye family as a maid when she was ten years old."

"Your mother inherited your maternal grandmother's talent, so while your maternal grandmother was raising Ye Xiao, she also taught your mother how to wear a cheongsam with classical charm and taught her various etiquettes."

"Later, Ye Xiao had an argument with your mother and fell, injuring her leg and becoming permanently disabled. Your maternal grandparents were so angry that they kicked your mother out of the house."

"Your mother has always wanted to find her biological parents, but unfortunately... sigh..."

At this point, Ye An sighed, and the conversation abruptly ended.

Xu Qingyun's heart was clenched tightly, and a dense, throbbing pain quickly spread.

A mix-up at birth?!

His biological parents were right in front of him, yet they didn't know each other, and in the end, he was kicked out of his home?!

Xu Qingyun struggled to suppress the churning emotions in her chest and pressed, "Where did my mother go after leaving Nancheng? Beijing?!"

"Yes, she has come to the capital." Ye An nodded.

Xu Qingyun clenched her fists. "What happened to her in Beijing? Who is my biological father? How could she have married Xu Sen?!"

Xu Qingyun had too many questions to ask, so her tone was very urgent.

She rarely expresses her emotions like this.
