Chapter 12 Fainting

As Zhao Xiaoyue walked down the street, she thought of that handsome boy who was often bullied. She wondered if he was still being bullied.

Lost in thought, I kicked a small stone.

Tian Xiuzhen rushed over, covered in sweat, and cried out, "Xiaoyue, Xiaoyue, something terrible has happened! Auntie has fainted!"

Zhao Xiaoyue was confused. "Which auntie?"

Tian Xiuzhen almost cried out in distress, "Yes, it's your mother."

Before she could finish speaking, Zhao Xiaoyue had already shot off like an arrow!

Tian Xiuzhen shouted from behind, "Uncle Zhao has been taken to the county hospital!"

Zhao Xiaoyue knew this because Li Guilan had died in the county hospital in her previous life.

It shouldn't have been a year in advance!

By the time Zhao Xiaoyue rushed to the hospital and found her, Zhao Guozhong had already finished all the examinations for Li Guilan.

Not seeing her parents' anxiety, Zhao Xiaoyue asked, "What happened? Did the doctor say what's wrong?"

Zhao Guozhong said, "The doctor said there's nothing serious, just a little low blood sugar. We'll take another look when the scans come out."

She walked up to Li Guilan, crossed her arms, and quietly checked her pulse, her brows furrowed tightly.

Something's not right!

After a while, they turned and ran away; they needed to go to a bigger hospital to get the best equipment for examination!

Zhao Guozhong and his wife looked up. Li Guilan frowned. "This child is always so impulsive. It's time to discipline him properly. This can't go on."

Zhao Guozhong comforted her, "It's alright, it's not good for a girl to be so mild-mannered!"

Since Zhao Xiaoyue fell, she has changed a lot. Zhao Guozhong has had his doubts, but as far as he can say, it's good that his child is developing in a positive direction and becoming sensible. Perhaps she has just become intelligent early.

Zhao Xiaoyue ran out to take the bus home. When she saw the old lady, she shouted very quickly, "Grandma, something bad is going to happen!"

That shout scared the old lady half to death.

He yelled, "Can't you speak properly, you brat? I'm not going to get hurt."

Zhao Xiaoyue ran to the old lady, bent over, and supported herself on her knees, panting.

The old lady then noticed that her granddaughter was covered in sweat. The old lady panicked and grabbed Zhao Xiaoyue's hand, asking anxiously, "What's wrong?"

Once she caught her breath, Zhao Xiaoyue said, "Grandma, I need ten thousand yuan."

old lady"……"

Zhao Xiaoyue gave a general account of Li Guilan's situation, explaining that the small hospital's examination was incomplete and that she needed to go to a larger hospital.

Without saying a word, the old lady took out her passbook and handed it to Zhao Xiaoyue.

"Little Sun, this is Grandma's, you take it." She then took out the deposit slip for 8,000 yuan that Zhao Guozhong had deposited, and withdrew it immediately.

Back at the hospital, the test results came back, and there was nothing seriously wrong.

Zhao Xiaoyue pulled Zhao Guozhong to a secluded corner and asked, "Dad, do you still love Mom?"

Zhao Guozhong looked around in embarrassment, and seeing that no one was around, he slapped Zhao Xiaoyue. "What are you saying, child? How could I not love your mother?"

Zhao Xiaoyue said in a serious tone, "Then let's take my mom to Guanghe City Hospital for a checkup!"

Then the father and daughter stared at each other.

Zhao Guozhong was puzzled, "No, we're going to Guanghe? You kid..."

He was halfway through his sentence when he asked, "Xiaoyue, are we really going to Guanghe?"

"dad."

Zhao Guozhong said firmly, "Go, go to Guanghe, and investigate carefully!"

In fact, when Li Guilan fainted and he couldn't wake her up no matter what he did, he panicked and didn't know what to do.

Li Guilan woke up halfway to the hospital by taxi. She then noticed that Zhao Guozhong's hand was trembling violently, though it wasn't visible on his face.

Li Guilan was wondering what was wrong with her. Just a moment ago, she felt a sharp pain in her lower abdomen and then she lost consciousness.

It terrified the several older female customers in the shop.

Zhao Guozhong was busy in the workshop when the gatekeeper said there was a phone call from his home. When he heard that Li Guilan had fainted, and then the phone was hanging upside down outside the window, the gatekeeper was spitting with excitement.

The doctor said it was nothing serious, but when Zhao Xiaoyue mentioned going to a big hospital, Zhao Guozhong's initial unease returned.

They immediately took a taxi home to get their luggage, and the family of three set off for Guanghe!

Li Guilan felt that she was fine, but Zhao Xiaoyue's words made her fall silent.

Zhao Xiaoyue said, "Mom, the restaurant's net profit can reach 20,000 yuan a year, but if you get sick, the restaurant will have to close down, and the money will be gone. If you're fine, you'll be the chairman of the board. What do you think?"

Zhao Guozhong chimed in, "Yeah, if something happens to you, how will my daughter and I survive?"

Li Guilan pinched Zhao Guozhong's arm, "Can't you say something nice?"

Then he glared at Zhao Xiaoyue again.

Zhao Guozhong quickly said, "Alright, alright, we know we were wrong. Just consider it a paid trip!"

In the afternoon, at Guanghe Hospital, Zhao Xiaoyue sat on the hospital bed, watching over Li Guilan. Looking out the window at a very tall sycamore tree, bathed in the slanting sunlight, it looked like a celestial tree.

After Zhao Guozhong finished the formalities, the two of them took Li Guilan for various tests. The results came out an hour later, and it was getting dark.

The three of them sat on the hospital bench in an unusually silent manner.

Looking at the results, Zhao Guozhong read, "Early-stage cervical intraepithelial neoplasia."

I remembered what the doctor said: "This disease has the potential to become cancerous. Fortunately, it was discovered in time. Otherwise, if it had turned into cancer, it would have been in the late stage."

Zhao Guozhong felt a chill run down his spine.

Zhao Xiaoyue secretly asked the doctor about the required cost and was advised that conservative treatment would cost around 15,000 yuan!

Zhao Xiaoyue is now extremely frustrated. She should have made money faster. Now she's back to square one. But thankfully, her mother's illness has improved!

Zhao Guozhong pulled Zhao Xiaoyue into his arms and rubbed her still slightly tanned face. "Thank you, my daughter."
