Chapter 141 Peeling Shrimp and Picking Out Bones

The waiter served all the dishes and then left. The two of them ordered a pot of water.

Zhao Xiaoyue pushed the Xi Shi with a pearl, crab meat lion's head, and mushroom vegetarian soup toward Situ Ming.

He then scooped up a bowl of vegetarian soup with a ladle and handed it to Situ Ming, saying, "Hey, little brother, a sip of soup before a meal is better than any medicine."

With long, clean hands, she took the soup bowl. "You're quite the smooth talker."

He brought it to his lips, took a small sip, and found it quite delicious.

The little girl immediately said proudly, "That's what Grandma Wu from Dawan Village taught me!"

"Did Grandma Wu teach you your medical skills too?"

Zhao Xiaoyue also took a sip of soup and nodded. "When I was three years old, I followed Grandma Wu around everywhere. I started school at six and a half, and I had to go for two hours every night. However," she shrugged, "I didn't learn it very well!"

The two chatted as they ate. "But wow, this dish is so delicious," one of them said, taking a big bite.

Zhao Xiaoyue smiled at Situ Ming again, "Don't worry, the medicine I prescribed for you is top-notch wherever you go."

"Yes, I believe you." Seeing the little girl eating with relish, Situ Ming put on his gloves, pulled the salt-baked shrimp in front of him, found an empty plate, and peeled the shrimp shells one by one.

Zhao Xiaoyue took a bite of food and said, "Speaking of which, how come you don't even have a driver?"

"I don't want it!" Her hands didn't stop moving.

Seeing the little girl's confusion, he said, "I don't want to use Grandpa's things."

ah?

"Would you be stupid not to rely on someone who has connections?"

If Zhao Xiaoyue and the comic convention had had any opportunity in her past life, they could have taken off.

When she started her business with the comic convention, she never slept through the night or ate a meal on time.

When we first started looking for investors, they made things difficult for us in all sorts of ways.

The worst thing was that they made her drink and sleep with them, and even made her drink and sleep with them at comic conventions. They would treat her to meals, drinks, and karaoke, but in the end, the business still fell through.

You can't even reason with them. Some people will take advantage of your lack of connections and bully you. The contract was going well, and you were just about to close it when they backed out and ran away.

Calling the police or looking for help is useless; you'll end up working for nothing for months or even a year.

"You think having a powerful backer is so easy?" Situ Ming sneered. "Everything you do in front of him comes at a price."

Situ Ming pushed the wrapped shrimp in front of Zhao Xiaoyue, "Do you know what happened when we first met?"

Without waiting for the girl's reply, he said, "I smashed all the valuables in his house, and he whipped me half to death with a horsewhip."

Holy crap, is this that exciting?

"The shrimp are peeled, enjoy!"

Zhao Xiaoyue looked at the neatly arranged shrimp in front of her and said, "Bring your bowl over here."

Situ Ming handed the bowl to the person opposite him, and Zhao Xiaoyue scooped half of the shrimp into the bowl, saying, "Here you go, I can't eat this much by myself."

"Okay, we'll each have half," the boy said, head down as he ate, a smile playing on his lips.

"What happened next?" Zhao Xiaoyue asked.

Situ Ming said with relief, "Later, we arrived at Yanyang Village. That house belonged to one of his comrades-in-arms. He left me there for three years."

Zhao Xiaoyue looked up and saw the person opposite her looking at her with a meaningful, ambiguous smile.

Their first meeting was even more explosive!

"Hehehe, Brother Ming, well, I didn't mean to at that time."

Zhao Xiaoyue was quite embarrassed; she was too young back then.

"Yes, I know."

Situ Ming continued eating.

Zhao Xiaoyue was completely baffled. She considered herself a charming person and could understand this guy before, so why couldn't she see through him now?

Situ Xiang recalled the time she kissed him. The little girl acted like a little hooligan. He didn't react for a moment. No one had ever kissed him before.

He had never been kissed since he could remember. The people in that place were very conservative, and the little girl shattered his worldview.

I can't help but laugh at myself now when I think about it. How could I have been so scared off by her?

It gets more and more outrageous as it goes on.

On several occasions, when Situ Kun's men were watching him, he and Yang Zhuo would stage a self-inflicted injury ruse, which the young girl always managed to pull off.

While drinking water, Situ Ming glanced at the little girl opposite him.

Her little mouth was bulging out from eating, like a goldfish. Finding her ponytail in the way, she rolled it into a bun and secured it with a hair clip, making her look energetic.

To cover up her embarrassment, Zhao Xiaoyue quickly started eating.

Situ Ming put down his cup. "Later, he threw me into the training camp. Thinking back to those days..."

Overwhelmed with maternal love, Zhao Xiaoyue's eyes were filled with heartache as she heard the boy say, "But I don't blame him. What can I do when I'm powerless?"

He was satisfied to see the girl's distressed eyes.

He took a sip of water, concealing the gleam in his dark eyes. Seeds need to be planted; as for what they are, he could graft them if things didn't look right.

It will ripen eventually!

"Here, little brother, this is delicious!" Zhao Xiaoyue served food to others with great enthusiasm.

Situ Mingzhao accepted all of them.

"Alright, hurry up and finish eating so we can go back." His bowl was almost overflowing.

"Mmm-hmm-hmm-hmm," Zhao Xiaoyue quickly finished eating.

The food we ordered wasn't much, and the portions weren't very large either; it was enough for the two of us to be full.

Situ Ming asked for a pair of tweezers and carefully removed the fish bones one by one, placing the clean fish meat in front of Zhao Xiaoyue. "Eat up, I'm full."

Zhao Xiaoyue exclaimed again, "That's so clever!"

The shop assistant brought in a small fruit platter, which Zhao Xiaoyue devoured all by herself.

I'm so full today!

Situ Ming chuckled, "Come on, let's go for a walk, otherwise you'll have indigestion tonight."

After Situ Ming paid, the two walked together on the street.

As dusk settles, the lights sway gently in the breeze!
