He struggled in the officialdom for many years, married two beautiful wives, and had many children. In the end, he had great power and became the prime minister who was "second only to the emperor and above ten thousand people". However, the good days lasted only more than ten years. The emperor suddenly issued an imperial decree to punish him, confiscated all his property, and exiled his wife and children. In his old age, he was separated from his wife and children, and became poor and destitute. In the end, he did not have a good end.

Lu Dongbin suddenly woke up from his dream, and realized that the life he had just experienced was just a dream. From then on, he had a profound realization that fame, wealth and fortune were all illusions, and there was no need to pursue them. So he worshipped Han Zhongli as his master, and together they went to Zhongnan Mountain to seek the truth, traveled all over the country, and helped many people.

There are many legends about Lu Dongbin after he became an immortal. One is that he got a magic sword called "Tian Dun Sword" from Huolong Zhenren, practiced Tian Dun Sword, and achieved great success in swordsmanship. He often used the sword to kill demons. Because his Taoist name was "Chun Yang Zi", later generations often respectfully called him "Chun Yang Ancestor".

Lu Dongbin was a descendant of an aristocratic family. It is said that after he became an immortal, he still had some of his bad habits in the human world, such as being greedy for wine and women. He also left behind legendary stories such as "Three Drunks at Yueyang Tower" and "Three Plays with White Peony". The famous piano piece "Three Drunks at Yueyang Tower" was adapted from the story that he secretly went down to the human world to drink at Yueyang Tower and got drunk three times in a row. The story about him and the famous prostitute Bai Mudan was also adapted into various wonderful operas and TV dramas by later generations.

In addition, the most famous legend is the legend of "A dog bites Lu Dongbin, and he does not know the kindness of human beings". Because Erlang Shen Yang Jian's Roaring Sky Dog secretly came to the earth to cause trouble and harm the world, Lu Dongbin was ordered to use magic weapons to subdue it. He put the Roaring Sky Dog into the magic weapon, but was worried that the Roaring Sky Dog would be turned into ashes if trapped in it for a long time. Lu Dongbin could not bear it and let the Roaring Sky Dog out without authorization. As a result, the dog not only did not thank him, but bit him hard - the story of a dog biting Lu Dongbin, and he did not know the kindness of human beings has been passed down.

After carefully sorting out the legends about Lu Dongbin in his mind, Xie Mingzhe selected stories that were suitable for making skills and began to conceive the production of the Lu Dongbin card.

Xie Mingzhe plans to come up with some new ideas for the image of Lu Dongbin.

The previously drawn Li Tieguai and Han Zhongli both appeared on the stage stepping on clouds, and Zhang Guolao's donkey also had clouds and mist under his feet. These are all racial elements that Xie Mingzhe planned to associate with "immortals", so that when new card categories are added later, these cards can be classified as immortal cards.

If Lu Dongbin also appeared on stage stepping on clouds, it would be too uncreative.

Since he is a sword master, Xie Mingzhe decided to let him fly with the sword.
