Chapter 135: Doctor is just a side job
Meng Mu was a little at a loss.
"Miss," Meng's mother couldn't help but ask, "why don't you rest for a while and drink some water?"
"Thank you, Grandma Meng. I'm not thirsty."
Ruan Qi smiled sweetly at her and reached out to pull up Meng Mu's trouser legs.
"Grandma Meng's leg had a serious accident before, right?"
"How do you know?!" Meng's mother was extremely surprised.
She looked up at Meng Boyi, who shook his head, indicating that he had not told Ruan Qi about her illness.
"Because I'm a doctor," Ruan Qi said with a smile, touching Mother Meng's leg. "I also know that Grandma Meng has undergone at least three major surgeries, the most recent one being six months ago."
Meng's mother looked at Meng Boyi again.
Meng Boyi shook his head again.
He did tell Ruan Qi about his mother's condition, but he simply said that she had a leg disease and did not explain it in detail. He did not even mention that she had undergone surgery.
Meng's mother was really shocked this time.
"Little girl, no, Dr. Ruan, what else do you see?" she asked.
Ruan Qi: "Grandma Meng, can I take your pulse?"
Meng Mu stretched out her hand.
Ruan Qi took out the pulse pillow and placed her fingertips on Meng Mu's wrist.
Father Meng, who was standing behind the wheelchair, saw this scene and his eyes showed interest.
He looked at Ruan Qi with great interest and asked, "Little girl, are you studying Traditional Chinese Medicine?"
Ruan Qi frowned.
"No idle chatting is allowed during the pulse diagnosis." The little girl glared at him.
Father Meng was disappointed and looked away awkwardly.
Meng Boyi couldn't help but laugh at his father with shaking shoulders.
After a while, Ruan Qi withdrew his hand.
"Doctor Ruan, how is my mother?" Meng Boyi asked.
"It can be cured," Ruan Qi said, "but it requires surgery. The surgery date will be arranged later. I'll give Grandma Meng a few injections first."
As she spoke, she took out a powder-blue needle box from her bag and pulled out the thinnest and longest silver needle.
Meng Boyi's eyelids twitched as he watched.
"Wait, Doctor Ruan, wait a moment!"
He quickly stopped Ruan Qi, fearing that her hand would tremble and prick the wrong place.
Ruan Qi looked at him doubtfully.
"Doctor Ruan," Meng Boyi carefully considered his words and suggested tactfully, "Could you please explain my mother's condition in detail so we can have a better idea of what's going on?"
"The condition?" Ruan Qi was puzzled. "Don't you know everything about Grandma Meng's condition? Didn't the doctors tell you about it before?"
Meng Boyi choked.
Meng Mu had seen so many doctors before, so of course he was familiar with her condition.
Ruan Qi: "Since you know about Grandma Meng's condition, what else can I say? Hurry up and get the acupuncture. I have to get up early tomorrow to shoot the music video."
"..." Meng Boyi almost suffocated his breath.
So, filming music videos is the real thing, and being a doctor is just a side job?
Although Meng Boyi is a die-hard fan of the Daxian store, he doesn't dare to joke about his mother's health.
He wanted to ask Ruan Qi about Meng's mother's illness, but Meng's father suddenly gave him a look.
Meng Boyi was stunned, and Ruan Qi took advantage of this opportunity to poke a needle into Meng Mu's leg.
Meng Boyi's face turned pale.
He reached out to stop him, but his father pulled him away.
"Dad, what are you doing? My mom..."
"Shh!" Father Meng glared at him. "Keep your voice down and don't disturb Doctor Ruan's acupuncture."
Meng Boyi was completely confused.
Father Meng didn't explain. He stared at Ruan Qi's movements with a gleam in his eyes.
At this time, Ruan Qi suddenly spoke.
"Mr. Meng, has anyone in your family studied Chinese medicine?"
