Chapter 44: The Little Star is Mrs. Xi (Part 1)
The man's angry roar, like an unpleasant broken string, destroyed the quiet and elegant atmosphere in the office.
Cheng Jinyan paused while writing.
The female secretary in high heels hurried in.
"I'm sorry, Mr. Cheng. I'll call the security guard right now..."
"No need." Cheng Jinyan waved his hand expressionlessly, "You go out first."
The secretary looked worriedly at the middle-aged man who looked angry and as if he wanted to eat someone, opened his mouth hesitantly, and finally left obediently.
The office door closed again.
Without the outsiders around, the middle-aged man's arrogance became even more arrogant. He rushed to Cheng Jinyan's desk in two steps and slammed his fat palm on the table.
"Cheng Jinyan, do you still have me, your third uncle, in your eyes?"
The man was so strong that the coffee cup on the desk shook violently with one slap.
Brown coffee splashed out and dripped onto the document contract beside it.
Cheng Jinyan glanced at the contract expressionlessly, a hint of coldness flashing across the depths of his dark eyes hidden behind his silver-rimmed glasses.
He closed the pen in his hand, leaned back in his chair, and looked up at the middle-aged man.
"What does this mean, Uncle San? I don't quite understand."
"You don't understand?!" Cheng Jinyan's indifferent attitude successfully angered the middle-aged man. "Didn't you suppress Yanyan's PR team?! Cheng Jinyan, have you lost your conscience? Yanyan is your sister, and you're actually targeting her for a little star!"
The middle-aged man's fat face turned red with anger, and his voice became louder and louder.
Cheng Jinyan looked at his mouth that was spewing shit everywhere, slowly adjusted his tie, and spoke slowly.
"Uncle San said a few things that weren't quite right. Let me correct them for you."
"First, Cheng Yan is my cousin, not my biological sister. My parents only have me."
"Secondly, the little star you're talking about is the future wife of the Xi family's headmaster. She's deeply loved by the Xi family's headmaster, Zhang Jiu, and the elders of the Xi family."
"Third, I only suppressed Cheng Yan's PR team, but it was Xi Jiu who pushed her to the forefront. If Third Uncle wants to avenge his daughter, why not go talk to Xi Jiu? I can arrange a car to take you to Xi's headquarters."
"You!" The middle-aged man, Cheng Run, Cheng Yan's father, had his eyes red from being rebuked, but he could not refute a word.
Of course, he knew that the little star he was talking about was the future wife of the Xi family's head of household, and he also knew that it was Xi Jiu, not Cheng Jinyan, who pushed Cheng Yan to the forefront.
But he couldn't afford to offend the Xi family, and he didn't dare touch Xi Jiu, the cold-faced demon. So, Cheng Run could only come to cause trouble for Cheng Jinyan.
But how could Cheng Jinyan be so easily bullied? He was choked to death with just a few words.
Cheng Run was so angry that he was gasping for breath like a bellows, his heart full of anger and shame for being humiliated by the junior Cheng Jinyan.
He glared at Cheng Jinyan angrily, and after holding it in for a long time, he finally slapped the desk.
"Do you still have me, your Third Uncle, in your eyes?!"
The coffee cup was shaken open again by the force.
This time, the coffee splashed not only onto the documents, but also onto Cheng Jinyan's white shirt.
The expensive high-end business shirt has no wrinkles at all. A drop of coffee falls on the white fabric and slowly spreads out, adding a hint of flaw to the whole garment.
Cheng Jinyan lowered his eyes and glanced at the coffee stain indifferently, and a chill slowly emerged in his eyes.
He looked up at Cheng Run.
