Chapter 538: Everything in Exchange (Part 1)

Chapter 538: Everything in Exchange (Part 1)

Old Davis predicted Demonhawk's future purely out of curiosity. Demonhawk had been acting so shifty before that the old gentleman couldn't help but secretly read his fortune.

But I didn’t expect to see Demonhawk and BC-made Thompson teaming up to cause trouble.

If it were someone else, Old Davis would definitely not care about this matter. But the person Demonhawk wanted to deal with was Ruan Qi, and Ruan Qi was the savior of Old Davis's wife, so he had to remind Ruan Qi of this matter.

Of course, before saying this, old Davis prepared for the worst.

The ability to predict the future wasn't universally accepted. Perhaps he'd been kind in reminding Ruan Qi, but Ruan Qi wouldn't necessarily accept his terrifying ability. After all, being able to casually see someone's future might sound impressive, but only through personal experience could one truly understand how terrifying it truly was.

Old Davis was prepared to be rejected and feared by Ruan Qi.

But Ruan Qi's reaction was beyond his expectations.

She just raised her eyebrows in surprise, said "Oh" in a nonchalant tone, and then nothing more.

Old Davis was completely overwhelmed by her, "Ms. Qi Sha, don't you have any other ideas?"

"Ideas?" Ruan Qi thought about it carefully and nodded. "I do have other ideas." She looked at Old Davis and bowed solemnly. "Thank you for your reminder, old man. I appreciate it."

Old Davis: “…”

The old duke rarely met someone like Ruan Qi who didn't play by the rules.

He was in a trance for a moment and couldn't help asking: "Aren't you afraid of me?"

Ruan Qi blinked in surprise: "Afraid? Why should I be afraid of you? You didn't hurt me, you helped me."

The little girl's thinking was very simple. If someone helped her, she would be grateful. If someone hurt her, she would kill them.

Although Old Davis had the ability to predict the future, if he helped her, she would be grateful. If one day, he used this ability to harm her, then he would be her enemy.

The little girl's logic was so simple and straightforward, yet so sincere and frank that it made people's hearts soften. Old Davis looked at her clear peach blossom eyes, and the smile on his face became even gentler.

"Miss Qi Sha is a very lovely person." The old gentleman did not hesitate to praise and love her. "My wife is the same kind of person. You two will definitely get along well."

Ruan Qi nodded: "I am looking forward to meeting Ms. Jennifer."

The smile in Old Davis's eyes grew even brighter. But soon, he added a stern reminder, "BC Manufacturing and Demonhawk are planning to join forces against Solomon. Miss Qisha, you and Mr. Austin should prepare early."

Ruan Qi turned her head and glanced at Simon. Simon nodded slightly and said calmly, "Thank you, old Duke. Solomon will be more careful."

When old Davis heard him say this, he stopped talking and brought the topic back to treating his wife's illness.

"Ms. Qisha, I wonder if you can agree to my request? My wife Jennifer... has been suffering these past few years."

Heart disease and asthma, two difficult-to-treat diseases, would be extremely painful for anyone.

What's more, Jennifer is over 60 years old and her body is fragile and vulnerable.

Thinking of the suffering his wife had endured over the years, a look of sadness appeared on the old Duke Davis' face. He suddenly stood up, facing Ruan Qi, and bowed deeply to her.

"Miss Qisha, please promise me to help Jennifer. I am willing to exchange everything I have with you."

Old Duke Davis bowed deeply.

But how could Ruan Qi accept such a gift from a sixty-year-old man? She jumped up from the sofa and hid behind Simon Austin in a few steps.

Old Duke Davis was stunned by her flexible posture, and his half-bent waist froze in mid-air.

"Old man, you don't have to do this." The little girl hiding behind Simon poked her head out. "It's a doctor's duty to heal the sick and save lives. I agree to your request. Please get up quickly!"

Old Davis didn't expect Ruan Qi to be so easy to talk to. He immediately stood up excitedly: "Ms. Qi Sha, are you really willing to treat my wife?!"

The little girl nodded repeatedly. "I'm willing. But I need to give her a detailed examination first. Also, you have to be mentally prepared. Heart disease and asthma are not so easy to cure. You can't expect me to be 100% effective, and you can't blame me if I can't cure her."

Old Davis was already very grateful that Ruan Qi accepted his request so quickly. How could he possibly blame her?

He excitedly stated his attitude: "Miss Qisha, please rest assured. No matter what the outcome, you will always be a distinguished guest of the Davis family! The door of the Davis family will always be open to you!"

Ruan Qi likes reasonable people like Old Davis.

She thought for a moment and said to him, "I may not be available these two days. Please prepare Ms. Jennifer's medical records over the years. When I have time, I will go to the hospital to examine her. But you must be prepared, her illness will require long-term treatment. You may have to fly to China frequently in the future."

Old Davis loves his wife dearly. As long as he can cure his wife's illness, he can build a spaceship immediately, not to mention flying to China, even if he is asked to move to Mars overnight.

"Jennifer and I have already retired and have plenty of time. As long as we can cure her, we would be happy to go to China."

So, that was settled.

Ruan Qi and Old Davis agreed on the time to go to the hospital, and Old Davis picked up his walking stick and stood up to leave.

But before leaving, he remembered something. "Oh, I almost forgot." He turned to look at Ruan Qi and Simon, and said a little embarrassedly, "I heard that Miss Qi Sha's newly designed R7 is extremely powerful and its technology is very revolutionary. To be honest, I'm actually a weapons enthusiast. I want to buy an R7 for my collection. I wonder if you two are willing to do this business?"

“…”

Finally, Solomon completed the first transaction of R7 since its launch, and the number of R7s sold was - one.

Old Davis knew that he had overpaid a bit for one, so he generously paid 30% more than the market price.

After paying the money, the nearly seventy-year-old arms enthusiast happily left with the purchase contract. His cheerful back looked like that of a 200-pound child.

After old Davis left, the lounge fell silent again.

Simon Austin's face once again turned cold: "BC Manufacturing wants to join forces with Demonhawk?"

"Well," Ruan Qi nodded, "There's no reason for old Duke Davis to lie to us. Since he predicted it, it must be true."
