Chapter 875 The Ruan Family’s Nightmare (Part 3)
Ruan Fengmian knew how much Xi Jiu cared about Ruan Qi. He was afraid that his son-in-law would die before his daughter came out. For Xi Jiu's health, Ruan Fengmian wanted to send him out for a change of heart.
But Xi Jiu could no longer hear any sounds from the outside world. He stood still, staring at the door of the operating room without blinking.
Seeing that he didn't say anything, Shen Wenqian hesitated for a moment, walked over, and reached out to pat his shoulder.
Just then, the lights in the operating room went out.
The door of the operating room slowly opened.
Xi Jiu, who had been standing there motionless for four hours, rushed up like a gust of wind in the blink of an eye the moment the door opened.
"How's Xiaoqi?"
Xi Jiu rushed over and grabbed the first person who walked out of the operating room.
The nurse he grabbed was startled and paused for two seconds before answering, "The operation is over. However, the patient is still in danger and needs to be sent to the ICU for further observation. Sir, please make way. The patient is about to be discharged."
Xi Jiu, who normally never allowed anyone of the opposite sex to get close to him, was like a fool, letting the nurse push him aside. He kept his head turned, his eyes fixed on the direction where the operating table was being pushed out.
The sound of wheels rolling was heard, and a group of medical staff came out pushing a bed.
Xi Jiu rushed forward immediately, but stopped just before touching the bed.
He stared at Ruan Qi lying on the hospital bed.
The little girl's face was pale, her usually rosy lips now bloodless. Her eyes were closed, her frail body tucked into the snow-white blankets, so still she seemed to be breathless.
Xi Jiu looked at her steadily, a layer of mist covering his red eyes.
"Baby……"
He called out hoarsely, but the little girl did not respond to him with a smile as usual.
A sudden panic rose in Xi Jiu's heart.
"Why hasn't Xiaoqi woken up yet?" he asked in a panic, completely lacking his usual calmness.
Nie Beilou, the last one to walk out of the operating room, frowned when he saw him like this.
"What does it look like to be in a panic?"
He walked over to Xi Jiu, his gaze falling on the man's red eyes. He paused and said, "Xiao Qi is still unconscious, and there's no way to determine when she'll wake up. Send her to the ward first, and we'll discuss the details later."
The nurses pushed the bed and walked quickly towards the ward.
After everyone had left, Nie Beilou turned around and explained Ruan Qi's situation to everyone.
"Xiao Qi has multiple fractures, but none of them are serious. The injury to the back of his head is more serious, but I've removed the blood clots, so he's not in danger of death."
Ruan Munan: "Then why hasn't she woken up yet? Is it because the anesthetic hasn't worn off yet?"
"It has nothing to do with the anesthetic." Nie Beilou's face was solemn. "The reason she didn't wake up is because her consciousness fell into hibernation."
Xi Jiu's voice trembled: "What does hibernation... mean?"
"What this means is that Xiao Qi has shut down her consciousness. Just like ten years ago, she closed off her five senses and let her consciousness fall into a deep sleep."
Ten years ago, after Ruan Qi was rescued from Xiaoyao Manor by Nie Beilou, she could not move, speak, or hear any sounds from the outside world for half a year.
During that six months, she was like a rag doll. Apart from being able to breathe on her own, she lost all other abilities and even needed to be fed.
That period of time was the nightmare that no one in the Ruan family wanted to recall the most.
And now, this nightmare has come again.
See you tomorrow.
