Something happened to my friend in the last two days, and this is how she explained it—
Yesterday, someone on Douyin claimed to be giving away books and merchandise in my name. That's not my account, and it's not me. What does her statement have to do with me?
I take no responsibility.
This is to notify you that:
I personally only have one Douyin account.
One Weibo account (please recognize these two accounts and the QQ group; all other accounts are not mine).
The Xiaohongshu account is managed and operated by an administrator.
Other people's opinions are none of my business, and I am not responsible for them.
The following is a summary of the events:
Just yesterday, many readers sent me private messages asking if someone on Douyin was me, so I found the author based on their directions.
She said she would send out autographed copies and related merchandise for her book, "Waiting for xxx," and provided screenshots as proof.
However, when I searched on Tomato, the title "Waiting for xxx" showed that it was my book.
So I contacted the person who sent the video, but she didn't reply.
I posted an emergency warning on Weibo, and later clarified the situation on Douyin.
After I posted the clarification video, I found that she tagged me in her profile, saying that I said I was her everyday account, while hers was a book recommendation account. I was completely dumbfounded.
So I tagged her directly in the comments section of Douyin.
She then followed me back, saying she was from Twitter and wanted to talk to me on WeChat.
The conclusion of our discussion is that I have the following three requirements:
1. She needs to clarify publicly that she was only promoting the book, not me personally; her account is not my alternate account and has nothing to do with me.
2. Change her Douyin bio.
Her current bio reads, "[This is my book recommendation account, my daily account is here @xxx]", which to me means, "I am indeed xxx, but this is my book recommendation account, and my daily account is here @xxx". This still leads to the misunderstanding that she is me.
3. Delete the video that affected me, and explain that she is just a book promoter, a book promoter who does things for money. She only said this because she thought it would generate traffic. Her purpose in saying this was only to promote the book, and it has nothing to do with me personally. Similarly, any comments she makes have nothing to do with me.
She promised me she would delete the video and even sent me a screenshot.
I felt that since they were both girls, I chose to believe her and didn't look at the screenshots.
After she posted the clarification video, I found that I could no longer see any of her videos.
I logged into my other account and found that the video she said she deleted had been re-uploaded.
And she blocked me.
So I tagged her directly in the comments section and asked her if she was playing a trick on me.
She started to twist the facts, saying that she deleted everything related to me.
I want to ask: Can you delete them all?
I'll stab you, wipe the blood, and pretend I didn't stab you, okay?
Of course not.
And what were we talking about? We were saying that you deleted the video, and you promised me that, but what happened?
You lied to me, and after lying to me, you kept telling me you wanted to keep the video, saying you deleted the comments.
I'm the victim in this situation, and I didn't even make any demands, so why are you making them?
This matter has been discussed at length in my own Douyin comment section.
Despite the constant condemnation from my readers and fellow authors, she contacted me privately at 00:35 in the morning.
Let me be blunt: you've already broken the law, yet you're still thinking about making money. (I will pursue legal action against anyone who infringes on my rights or misuses my personal information.)
She later apologized to me and recorded a video to prove that she had deleted the video.
The above is a summary of what happened yesterday.
Here are the three points I want to make:
First, she was promoting a book, not me. She posted this to get clicks, and it has nothing to do with me.
Secondly, I am not responsible for any of her statements.
Third, I accept normal tweets, but I do not accept tweets in this manner.
To prevent anyone from smearing me and saying I broke my promise, I have taken screenshots of the above content and posted the background on Douyin.
Other comments and opinions are irrelevant to me, and I am not responsible for them. Please do not come here to me.
This incident has had a very negative impact on me, and I hope it will never happen again. Thank you.
That's how it is, it's outrageous. I'm telling everyone here, don't blindly believe anything you hear online. Think twice before you encounter something like this, learn to distinguish right from wrong, and avoid being scammed.
