“Your secretary told you that I am a shareholder of Changhua Group, but I didn’t receive any notice about the company’s shareholders’ meeting.” Ji Zhinan stared into Chairman Xing’s eyes: “I hope this is the first and the last time.”
This little girl—which of the shareholders present wasn't her uncle or even her father's generation? They were all veterans who had spent most of their lives in the business world, and they had never seen such an arrogant young person, especially a mere girl.
Pulling back the heavy curtains made the entire conference room much brighter.
Ji Zhinan remained calm despite feeling like several pairs of eyes were staring at him.
“A few days ago, I invested five million in Changhua Group’s stock. Before coming here, I also acquired the shares that other shareholders had sold. Now I own 30% of Changhua’s shares. If I’m not mistaken, apart from Chairman Xing who owns 51% of the shares, my shares are the second largest in the company.”
Upon hearing that Ji Zhinan had poured money into the company and even acquired its shares, everyone was shocked, and Chairman Xing's eyes nearly popped out of their sockets.
"What did you say? You bought shares in our company?!"
Changhua is now in dire straits. How many fools would be willing to throw money into this fire pit? Yet this young girl actually jumped in herself.
"Yes," Ji Zhinan readily admitted.
"This..." Chairman Xing looked at her, and for a moment he didn't know what to say: "Girl, you're bewitched."
Ji Zhinan stared at Chairman Xing and smiled sweetly: "Rather than the phrase 'bewitched,' I would prefer Chairman Xing to praise me as having brilliant strategies."
"..." This girl looks young and pretty, but I wonder if she has something wrong with her brain.
She spends so much money buying shares in a company on the verge of bankruptcy, and yet she expects people to praise her for her brilliant shrewdness?
“You’re so young, we really don’t want to drag you into this mess.”
Chairman Xing still has a conscience.
Ji Zhinan disagreed and instead comforted Chairman Xing: "Chairman Xing, you don't need to worry about me. Since I've invested so much money, I have the confidence and ability to break even and revive the company."
How to revive a company from the brink of collapse?
The other shareholders couldn't help but laugh when they heard this.
They've been in the business world for years, and now Changhua is facing an unprecedented crisis; they don't know what to do. Back when they were building their business empires, this little girl was still an infant, and she dares to say she can revive the company—what a boastful statement!
Chairman Xing was amused: "Little girl, are you joking?"
Ji Zhinan looked at him with a half-smile: "Chairman Xing, actually I'm not a very cheerful person, especially when it comes to joking."
"Give me just one week, and I guarantee I'll bring Changhua back to life, even make it thrive, crush the Ji family, and bring it back to its peak."
Seeing that Ji Zhinan's expression was anything but joking, Chairman Xing also stopped smiling and asked seriously, "Are you serious?"
"I don't have time to joke with Chairman Xing."
Chairman Xing fell silent.
It wasn't that he didn't trust people, but the young girl in front of him was too young. She probably hadn't been in the business world for more than a year, and she even dared to boast that she could bring Changhua back to life in a week...
This is simply a fantasy, a pipe dream.
Chairman Xing stared into Ji Zhinan's eyes and asked again, "What if you can't do it?"
Ji Zhinan met Chairman Xing's scrutinizing gaze with composure, his tone calm: "If I fail to do so, I will assume all of the company's debts."
