Chapter 4 Kneeling and Kowtowing in Apology

Mrs. Ji thought Aunt Min's words made a lot of sense: "What do you think we should do?"

A glint of shrewdness flashed in Aunt Min's eyes: "They say a strict teacher produces outstanding students, and a strict mother produces filial sons. It's a small matter that the Second Miss looks down on Aunt Min, but her disrespect for others is a big deal. She must be taught a lesson! How about... making her kneel down and apologize to me, and then I will mercifully forgive her. Let the Second Miss lose face, and let her know that everyone is equal, and no one is born to be anyone's servant."

This Ji Zhinan is becoming increasingly lawless, even daring to talk back to me. Madam Ji took Aunt Min's words to heart and looked at Ji Zhinan coldly: "What are you still standing there for? Kneel down right now and kowtow to Aunt Min to apologize!"

Aunt Min stood there smugly, just waiting for Ji Zhinan to kowtow to her.

Ji Zhinan stared casually at the two treacherous masters and servants, his thin lips moving slightly as he enunciated each word clearly: "I... will... not... kneel!"

"What did you say?!" Madam Ji felt her authority had been challenged: "I'm your mother, I tell you to kneel, so kneel!"

After saying that, he turned his head and winked at the maids. Two maids stepped forward to restrain Ji Zhinan and force her to kneel down.

Ji Zhinan's expression turned cold, and he kicked the maid hard in the knee.

"Ah!" The two maids cried out in pain, clutching their knees, sweating profusely from the pain.

Madam Ji's face changed drastically. She glared at Ji Zhinan and gritted her teeth, saying, "I am your mother, the lady of the house in the Ji family. How dare you disobey my orders? Aunt Min! Give the second young lady twenty slaps so she'll learn her lesson!"

"You dare?!" A dignified voice came from behind, making everyone present except Ji Zhinan tremble.

Madam Ji's face turned pale, and her legs began to tremble and go weak uncontrollably.

Ji Zhinan, however, remained calm and composed: "Grandpa."

The old man has arrived!

Although Mr. Ji was over sixty years old and his hair was half white, he walked with his head held high and his demeanor was not like that of an old man at all.

When the old man arrived, everyone quieted down, even Aunt Min shrank back and looked scared.

Seeing so many people bullying his granddaughter, the old man's face turned extremely ugly. He stared at Madam Ji and said, "Let's see who dares to bully my granddaughter in front of this old man!"

A powerful roar startled Madam Ji, and several young maids immediately knelt on the ground.

"Dad," Mrs. Ji said, her face pale, as she approached, "I was disciplining our daughter. Children shouldn't be spoiled..."

"My granddaughter is obedient and sensible, and never causes trouble. What are you lecturing her for!" Old Master Ji glared and decided to protect Ji Zhinan to the end.

Having lived through her past life, the only person who ever showed her warmth in her short life was Grandpa Ji.

Thinking of this, Ji Zhinan's eyes softened a little.

Here, Madam Ji felt a chill run down her spine and was at a loss for what to do.

Although she was the lady of the house, the old man was still in charge, and Madam Ji was afraid of her father-in-law.

Everyone knew that the old man was protecting Ji Zhinan and was afraid that his anger would fall on her, so Madam Ji quickly filed a lawsuit.

“Aunt Min told me that the child was being disrespectful and hit her. Dad, we can’t let the child bully others.”

After listening, the old man looked at Ji Zhinan, his expression and tone becoming much more loving and gentle: "Nannan, tell Grandpa if you hit Aunt Min? Don't be afraid, tell the truth, Grandpa will back you up!"

Ji Zhinan said calmly, "I did."
