Chapter 6 Phoenix Jade Pendant

Grandpa Ji was in a bad mood and wouldn't listen to anyone, so he had Aunt Min dragged out.

"Where is Ji Zhixia!" Old Master Ji roared at Madam Ji.

The surveillance footage shows that Aunt Min went to Ji Zhinan's place to look for Ji Zhixia, which means that Ji Zhixia has not been home since at least yesterday!

Mrs. Ji trembled and lowered her head, speaking softly, "Dad, didn't Xiaxia say she wanted to start her own business? I guess she's away on a business trip doing research these past few days, she hasn't been home..."

"You're still making excuses for her!" The old man grabbed a tea box from the side and threw it at her. "Is she out drinking and clubbing with her bunch of cronies again? Tell her to get back here right now, or freeze all her cards and get as far away from her as possible!"

Ji Zhinan stood to the side, expressionless, watching the old man berate Madam Ji and Aunt Min.

After giving Madam Ji a thorough dressing-down, the old man pulled Ji Zhinan away.

The oppressive atmosphere overhead finally dissipated, and the trembling maid beside Madam Ji quickly came to help her up.

Madam Ji hated Ji Zhinan with a vengeance. This worthless girl! If it weren't for her, would she have been scolded by the old man to the point of being worse than a grandson? And she even caused her good daughter Xiaxia to be implicated.

She shoved the person aside and vented her anger on the maid: "Where is the young lady? Haven't you found her yet!"

The maid shook her head repeatedly, crying, "I can't find it, Madam..."

Ji Zhixia has been missing for two days. Madam Ji has searched every bar and KTV in the entire capital city. Where has that girl gone off to run wild again?

Even now, Madam Ji is unaware that Ji Zhixia has had an accident; she still thinks that Ji Zhixia has run away again like before.

…………

Ji Zhinan followed him to the old man's room. The old man turned his head and was stunned when he saw her calm and composed expression. Then, his eyes welled up with tears and turned red. His originally calm heart was stirred.

He hadn't seen that look in his eyes for over a decade...

They look so alike, so incredibly alike...

"grandfather."

Hearing Ji Zhinan call his name, the old man finally snapped out of his reverie. He wiped away his tears behind Ji Zhinan's back, his voice tinged with sadness: "Good child, I'm sorry you had to go through all this."

Ji Zhinan smiled and said, "I'm not wronged."

She will get revenge on everyone who has bullied her, one by one. What is there to feel aggrieved about?

"Nan Nan, if you feel wronged in the future, tell Grandpa. Don't keep it to yourself."

After saying this, the old man walked to his wooden table, took out an iron box from a locked drawer, and carefully placed it on the table as if it were a rare treasure.

"You've grown up, and there are some things I need to pass on to you."

Upon opening the tin box, there was only a jade pendant with a phoenix pattern inside, with a card underneath.

"This is your mother's..." Grandpa Ji realized he had let something slip and immediately added, "This is the dowry that Grandpa saved for you. The password is your birthday. Grandpa will give it to you now."

"And this..." He personally handed the phoenix jade pendant to Ji Zhinan, repeatedly instructing him with concern: "Child, protect it as if it were your own life, and never lose it. Remember, never lose it."

Ji Zhinan stared down at the jade pendant. In fact, the old man had given her these things in her previous life, but she never understood what the jade pendant was for until her death.

Now that she's got it again in this life, she'll investigate it thoroughly.

After giving a few more instructions, Grandpa Ji finally let Ji Zhinan leave. Watching her receding figure, Grandpa Ji couldn't hold back his tears, which streamed down his face.
