After a long while, until Ji Zhinan was slightly out of breath, Gu Yibei reluctantly released her lips. His forehead was pressed against hers, and their noses touched, creating an ambiguous posture.
Ji Zhinan's hands followed the man's movements and landed on his waist. She slightly raised her eyes to meet his burning gaze, and her voice unconsciously softened.
"Are you happy today?" She could tell from his expression.
Feeling the warmth of the little girl in his arms, Gu Yibei's heart was filled with joy. His burning black eyes stared intently into her beautiful eyes, as if he wanted to carefully study every glance she gave.
His voice was as deep and magnetic as ever: "It's been a long time since we've been alone together."
Ever since his heartless and insane father-in-law appeared, every time he gets close to his wife, the father-in-law looks at him with a wary expression as if his child has been stolen, his eyes practically turning into X-rays to shoot him to death on the spot.
Young Master Gu said he was having a really tough time.
Now that he finally had a chance to be alone with Ji Zhinan, Gu Yibei wished he could spend every minute of every day with his wife.
"I've made a reservation at the restaurant you like."
The man's voice was as pleasant as ever.
Upon hearing this, Ji Zhinan smiled and teased, "Mr. Gu, are you inviting me on a date?"
"Okay." Gu Yibei agreed quickly, without any intention of objecting: "I want to go on a date with you."
Ji Zhinan didn't expect him to admit it so readily, and immediately felt even better: "Okay, I'll give you face since Mr. Gu is so sincere."
After saying that, she pulled off Gu Yibei's hand that was around her waist and walked to the passenger seat.
When Ji Zhinan reached the car, she didn't open the door. Instead, she turned to Gu Yibei, raised an eyebrow, and smiled, "So Mr. Gu invites girls on dates and then makes them open the car doors themselves."
Upon hearing this, Gu Yibei smiled indulgently: "You little rascal."
Even so, his action of walking over to open the door betrayed him.
As soon as the car door opened, a pure white sight instantly filled Ji Zhinan's vision.
A huge bouquet of flowers was placed on the passenger seat, and Ji Zhinan was startled when he saw it.
She subconsciously looked at Gu Yibei, only to see the man as calm as ever: "I already told you, I'm taking you on a date."
Since it's a date, how could I not send flowers?
Ji Zhinan chuckled, bent down to pick up the bouquet, and pinched the petals of one of the flowers between her fingers. She stared at Gu Yibei and teased, "Who gives lilies as a date?"
When a man gives a woman a bouquet of flowers, his first choice should be red roses.
After all, roses are the symbol of love, the embodiment of the goddess of beauty, and infused with the blood of the god of love, expressing an unwavering love for one's beloved until death. Whether it's for a girlfriend, a wife, or a marriage proposal, roses are the first choice.
Upon hearing this, Gu Yibei's eyes revealed a hint of disdain: "Only men who find things troublesome send roses."
There are so many bouquets in the world, some even with different colors and meanings. Many men give roses partly because roses represent love, and partly because they are simply too lazy to put thought into flowers. After all, in their eyes, a bouquet is just a bouquet, and there is no need to waste time researching it. Roses are the most time-saving and least likely flower to be a mistake.
Upon hearing Gu Yibei's words, Ji Zhinan subconsciously looked down at the lily in her arms.
"Then what do you mean by giving me lilies?"
“Lilies represent sacred and pure love,” Gu Yibei replied quickly.
