Chapter Fifty-Five: A Certain Aspect... A Bizarre Confusion?

Upstairs, Luo Yan opened the door and entered the room. Jiang Sui bent down and neatly arranged the shoes she had kicked out. He placed the food boxes on the table and opened them one by one.

"By the way, how's the project going? Is there no problem communicating with Mr. Sun?"

"Don't even mention it..."

Luo Yan's face fell at the mention of Sun Zhicheng.

"I just find it so strange. We're all speaking Mandarin, so why is communication so difficult? Does he think he's Trump? He changes his mind all the time! We agree on everything in a meeting one day, but then he calls the next day and it's all null and void. It's become the norm! It's giving us a huge headache. If I say a few words, he says I'm an amateur and that I'm bringing my personal emotions into my work. I can practically smell his Trump attitude over the phone!"

Jiang Sui frowned slightly but did not interrupt her.

Luo Yan suddenly realized that she was complaining about his colleague, and he would get annoyed if she kept grumbling. So she changed the subject, "Of course, everyone has a different way of doing things, and I should try to see things from his perspective..."

Why should we side with him?

Jiang interrupted her calmly, her expression completely unwavering, "If it's right, you should stick to it; if you're wronged, you should vent... Comrade Luo Yan, you're the client, so show some client-like attitude. What can he do to you?"

Luo Yan was stunned.

Isn't this process wrong? In the past, when she complained to Wu Yuzhou about strange customers and bosses who tried to shift the blame, Wu Yuzhou would give her a whole set of reasons, which would eventually make her believe that it was all her fault. But Jiang Sui didn't give her a single word of reasoning, and yet all her anger disappeared.

Just then, Jiang Sui said, "Change into that dress later and show it to me."

"Heh, I knew something was fishy about you being so normal. Is this all you're thinking about?! Do you also need to wear black or white stockings with it?"

"Black stockings, they feel good when you tear them."

"roll……"

Luo Yan suddenly chuckled: "Then how about this, I'll wear a skirt for you, and you dance Wild Wolf Disco for me, a win-win situation."

Jiang Sui coughed awkwardly, "...Let's eat."

Luo Yan watched his reaction with satisfaction, thinking to herself, "You bastard! I've been saying this every day: desensitization therapy!"

"Wu Yuzhou seems to still be downstairs. Do you think he's crazy? He was the one who cheated on me with Yang Xin behind my back, and he was the one who got his wish and married Yang Xin while cheating on her. Now he's acting like the whole world has wronged him!"

Jiang Sui glanced outside indifferently: "He does have a bit of a serious illness."

"Go after me again?" Luo Yan rolled her eyes. "That's hilarious. I'm not a garbage dump."

Jiang Sui picked up a piece of pork rib and put it in her bowl: "This piece has a lot of meat."

"Is he so jealous of how happy I am now that he's practically dying of envy?"

"Is plasmolysis used like this?"

"That describes his inner world as twisted as an onion that has been peeled off!"

Luo Yan, chopsticks dangling from her lips, was quite pleased with her "apt" metaphor. "No wonder so many people enjoy watching scumbags get their faces slapped and defeated. It's really exhilarating, so addictive."

Jiang Sui chuckled softly, "Yes, as long as you're happy."

"Hey, Mr. Jiang..." Luo Yan frowned and leaned closer to look at him: "Now that someone is openly trying to poach your employee, this is your reaction?"

“No matter what I do, it won’t make a difference. Wu Yuzhou is a lawyer himself. I can’t really buy him a prime piece of land, can I?” Jiang Sui said without looking up. “Whether you can get him or not is entirely up to you.”

Luo Yan was stunned for two seconds, then burst into laughter and collapsed onto the sofa.

Jiang Sui looked puzzled: "What are you laughing at?"

"nothing."

Luo Yan rubbed her aching stomach from laughing, regained her composure, and looked at him with bright eyes: "Jiang Sui, although you're a workaholic with a peculiar way of thinking, but... well, it's so good to be with you, really good!"

"Good to know."

Jiang Sui's lips curled up quickly as she placed the largest chicken leg into her bowl.

After finishing her meal, Luo Yan looked out from the balcony and saw that Wu Yuzhou was no longer at the entrance of the residential area, which put her mind at ease.

Jiang Sui dragged her back into the house. "What are you looking at? Are you reluctant to part with it?"

"I'm checking to see if that plague god is gone!"

Luo Yan struggled and protested, "Jiang Sui, let me go! Stop picking me up like a cat! Stop! I'm so full, I'm going to throw up... I'm going to throw up!"

Jiang Sui closed the balcony door and pushed the trash can in front of her: "Put it out."

Luo Yan looked at his awkward face and laughed in exasperation.

"You're being jealous in a rather unique way. The person's gone, can't you even look at the air?"

Just as they finished speaking, the doorbell rang suddenly, and both of them were startled.

"Holy crap!" Luo Yan couldn't help but curse. "Did that guy just run up here?"

Jiang Sui's expression darkened. Without saying a word, he went to open the door.

"Hello, Ms. Luo Yan, please sign for this package."

Thankfully, it wasn't Wu Yuzhou.

Luo Yan breathed a sigh of relief and went over to take a look. There was a smiling deliveryman at the door and a large airline case on the ground.

When she opened it, she found a round-headed silver shaded cat, its little paws tucked in, gazing at her innocently with sapphire-like eyes.

There was also a note in the box:

- This was a gift from Luo Muyang. I'm allergic to cat fur. (PS: It's supposedly worth five figures, so don't let it die.)

Luo Yan took out her phone and called Xu Jingfei: "When did you become allergic to cat fur? Wasn't you hugging and cuddling Sister Zhao's orange cat like crazy last month?"

Xu Jingfei said confidently, "Is it wrong for me to have an allergy now? Luo Muyang saw my post about someone else's cat on his WeChat Moments and had it delivered today. I refuse to participate in this kind of nouveau riche behavior."

"Admit it, you're just a hypocrite!" Luo Yan exposed Xu Jingfei's true colors with a single sentence.

"Anyway, I'm not keeping this cat. You can decide whether to keep it or get rid of it!" Xu Jingfei said before ruthlessly hanging up the phone.

Luo Yan looked at the little guy licking his paws elegantly and felt that his expression looked somewhat familiar.

"It's fate that it's here, so let's keep it and call it... Jiang Xiaosui!"

Jiang Sui frowned: "Why use my name?"

"Because it suits you! Look at its aloof demeanor and that look of disdain for everyone. Tsk tsk, the Jiang Sui of the cat world!"

Jiang Sui tapped the cat's nose with her finger, "This name... people who didn't know better would think you gave birth to my child."

Luo Yan: "..."

But what kind of trouble can a cat cause?

Soon, Jiang Sui realized that he had underestimated his opponent.

Within just two hours of the cat arriving at Luo Yan's house, it had quickly captured all of her attention.

"Jiang Xiaosui, come to Mommy's hug!"

"Meow!"

"Jiang Xiaosui is so smart!"

"Meow!"

"How about Jiang Xiaosui sleeps with Mommy tonight?"

"Meow……"

Looking at the cat nestled in Luo Yan's arms, wagging its tail at him, Jiang Sui realized what it meant to be "inferior to a cat."

"You'll sleep with it? What about me?"

Luo Yan's gaze never left the fur ball in her arms. "Hey, why are you, a grown man, arguing with a cat? Of course I love you the most, but when you're not around, let Jiang Xiaosui sleep with me!"

Jiang Sui smiled helplessly and leaned closer: "I can be here every day."

Luo Yan finally raised her head, her face flushed, and whispered, "At the rate you keep up with this, how am I supposed to go to work the next day? And every day... even a pile driver isn't as hardworking as you!"

Jiang Sui ruffled Luo Yan's hair and stood up: "Okay, I'll go back and wait for the card to be chosen. You should go to sleep early, see you tomorrow."

Luo Yan hummed in agreement, then suddenly remembered something.

"etc!"

"You want me to stay?" Jiang Sui paused and turned around.

Luo Yan walked over carrying the cat. "I remember there's a big pet supply store downstairs at Feiyang. When you come over tomorrow... why don't you buy something for Jiang Xiaosui?"

"..."

Jiang Sui stared at Luo Yan speechlessly for a long while, then let out a short sigh.

What do you want to buy?

Jiang Sui took a note with his phone and smiled knowingly as he watched Luo Yan happily holding the cat.

May his little Luo always be happy.

The next day, the Flying Project meeting.

Jiang Sui stared intently at the data analysis charts on the projector, listening to the project manager's report. Just then, his phone vibrated. He frowned slightly, but ignored it as usual.

After a while, he took out his phone. It was a message from Luo Yan—a money transfer.

- Please check your bank account for the money I gave Jiang Xiaosui to buy things. [Grinning face]

Jiang Sui's lips curled up almost imperceptibly, but he didn't stop.

-Don't be so formal. You share my surname, so consider this a small gift as a token of our meeting.

Luo Yan:

-Then thank you in advance on behalf of Jiang Xiaosui, President Jiang! [Kiss][Heart]

The project manager's voice grew softer and softer as he gave his report. Everyone was horrified to discover that General Manager Jiang was actually replying to messages during the meeting, and even seemed to be laughing!

Sitting in the main seat, Luo Muyang leaned over and whispered, "Is that Yanyan? What are you talking about that makes you so happy?"

Jiang Sui locked the screen without changing his expression: "No, it's about another project."

"Hehe!" Luo Muyang laughed so hard his eyes disappeared. "I understand, I understand everything..."

Everyone in the conference room was listening intently, exchanging curious (and gossipy) glances.

After the meeting, Jiang Sui returned to his office and looked at the list of cat supplies on his phone's memo. He recalled how much Luo Yan cuddled the cat last night, and a sense of crisis inexplicably rose in his heart, making him somewhat depressed.

Assistant Xiao Huang came in to deliver some documents. Jiang Sui stopped him and hesitated before asking, "I have a question for you. I... I have a friend whose girlfriend has suddenly become very interested in other things... um, other things, more than she is interested in him. What should we do?"

Xiao Huang was so shocked he almost spilled his coffee: "This...this needs to be analyzed specifically. Is it a game or idol worship? If it's a real person...is it a man?"

"Alive, gender not yet known."

"How about your friend try catering to her interests? Do whatever she likes..."

“That’s all we can do…” Jiang Sui nodded earnestly.

Xiao Huang then remembered something and cautiously asked, "Um... Mr. Jiang, I have some professional teaching materials on this subject that can guide your... friend. Do you need them? They're free."

Jiang Sui: "..."

Ten minutes later, he expressionlessly dragged the PDF "100 Classic Phrases for Smart Men to Pamper Their Girlfriends" into the recycle bin.
